Because I am of average height, I never needed a tailor until I bought a couple of pairs of pants at American Eagle Outfitters (AEO). Their website says that their female fit models are between 5'7" and 5'10". That is average height to AEO but slightly too long for me. So I took the pants to Dutchgirl Cleaners, which has a fitting room where I tried them on. Seo, the tailor, pinned the extra fabric up until the hem touched my flat shoes. I usually wear flats and wore the shoes that I planned to wear with the pants. Then he folded the pants in and out and drew a straight line where the new hem should go. Now my pants fit perfectly. The service took in five business days because he used a sewing machine to make the alterations, and there were many customers ahead of me. Drew, the manager, who charged me $15 a pair. I had to pay in full before the tailoring was done (see photo below). The price though is reasonable for Suffolk County. read more

I've came to this dry cleaners many times these past several years and I never had an issue until recently. I dropped off my suits here and was given a price of around $70.00 for pick up. When I came for my pick up, I was given the price of close to $100.00! I gave them my ticket which showed around $70.00 being charged but I was told the math was done wrong and I was to pay the new amount. What if I didn't have the money they originally told me? Would they have kept my suits?? I paid it off and will not be going back there again. If you ask me, the proper thing for them to have done is kept the bill on the original ticket. The only thing I should be expected to do is drop off my wardrobe and pick them up for the price I was told AND given on the day of my drop off. read more

Dear previous 4 reviewers, Please don't persecute me for my 4 star review, but I have been using Dutch girl for years, and she has taken good care of me and my clothes! I've given them suits with wine/food stains, nursing scrubs with ungodly fluids, and my favorite pairs of expensive jeans with the miscellaneous dirt/stains and every single time have received all garments of clothing in impeccable, spotless conditions. I've also seen the amount of customers they have here and not once heard complaints from anyone there. Maybe because I don't own fur or complicated suede material like the previous 4 yelpers, but all of my expensive clothes have always been treated with dignity and respect, just like myself as a customer. This slightly steep prices are why i deducted one star. Otherwise, sorry to all with their bad experiences, but I for one would recommend them for all dry cleaning needs. Do not recommend bringing anything to Dutch girl cleaners. Not only are they overpriced but my coat came back full of lint and hair on it which wasn't there when I brought it in. They never cleaned the coat!!! And refused to give me my money back. The owner was nasty and claimed the hair and lint came from pressing it, you don't press suede!!! Never use this place. read more

The cleaner damaged my suit by damaging the fabric on the left sleeve. The damage is in the photo attached. Initially they acknowledged the damage and the Taylor told me he would take the sleeve in by an inch which would make the suit fit poorly. After this they refused to acknowledge me and then denied damaging the suit. Why would they offer to fix the suit if they didn't believe they danger it? A male came from the back to tell me the owners name is David and he wasn't there. Another girl finally Pinter out the owner who is a talk Asian lady who attempted to recess herself in the rear of the store. I was informed by the owner that I should sue them in civil court and that is just what I'll do. I filed a police report in the store for damaged property. I am encouraging you all not to support this business because no matter how long you've been a customer they will not treat a wonderful customer properly when they are wrong. While I was there another male came in with a newly cleaned shirt that had blue stains all over the back of it. I also took pictures of that. read more

I was so surprised to see anything less than 5 stars! I have been coming here for years for my work clothes and dresses for special events (which I go to a lot for work). They perfectly clean everything every time, even the most annoying items, and they really help me when I'm in a bind and need something last minute. Never take your cloth to this store! I took my winter cloth with very expensive fur to this store several weeks ago, after they finished and I took back my cloth in a bag, I never open it because the weather getting warmer. Several days ago I open it and I found they did not put my expensive fur in the bag! ! They kept it by themselves!!! I called them many times and finally they answered my phone, they said sorry to me and promised me they would send me back by usps because I have already moved far away from Long Island. I also told them I can not be there by myself! On the phone, they promised me many times, But after two weeks later, I did not received my fur and I called them back, they never answer my phone again!!! I used other phone number to call them, they just said they already send it and if I did not get my fur, let me just call the police! !! Until now I did not receive my fur!!!! I have had a bad experience with this dry cleaner in particular after it changed over ownership I had a beautiful gold silk skirt that was part of a wedding outfit that I dropped off after my vacation Each time I returned back they told me they need more time I gave them ample time and 6 weeks past and they told me that the skirt is at the factory and they over cleaned the skirt and they were going to dye it I was so upset with them and had them get the skirt back to me right away Keep in mind this was all without my permission They should of been honest with me from the beginning and instead just tried to cover up their mistake. The skirt is ruined now and of course now I have changed dry cleaners No remorse for their error, nor did they say they would reimburse me for the cost of the skirt So choose wisely and I would prefer to give no stars read more

This place is a rip-off. Not my normal dry cleaner, I used them as a recommendation from a friend. Brought a tuxedo and shirt in as I needed it for the following week and I was in the area. Aside from the price for the cleaning of the tux being about 30% higher than I was used to, I could be ok with that, but it was the shirt. They dry cleaned a white dress shirt and charged $5.50 for it. I asked one of the owners (male) why he would dry clean a white business dress shirt and he told me that the reason was because "I" didn't ask him to have it washed/dried and pressed like the hundreds of shirts that were right behind him and that he told me he charges $1.85 for (still 30% higher than I'm used to, but I would've been ok with that too). I said to him, "you're a dry cleaner, aren't you supposed to ask me if there's more than one way to do it? and why would you automatically choose that? " The other owner (female) comes over and starts yelling at me saying that its my responsibility to tell them what I want and not assume they would wash and dry it. I said that was the most ridiculous statement I ever would have imagined to come from a dry cleaner, there were people in the store and I asked her "why would you purposely not ask it, and assume it was dry clean, because you can CHARGE MORE FOR IT?" I said now I have to get it washed, dried and pressed because I don't put dress shirts with dry cleaning solution on especially if there's a change for perspiration, its not healthy, but as a dry cleaner, you should know that, Do you mean to say that if I brought in 20 shirts and didn't ask for it you would dry clean all of them?????? Don't bother answering, you got me once, but will never get any more business from me or the person who sent me here and I'm posting it online so other people can avoid you like the plaque. read more
