The price this second time with all the extras was higher than I thought it was going to be, but It was my husband that agreed to all the bells and whistles and paid for it. The house still smells great 3 days later. I'll definitely use them again when the puppy is done with potty training. Update: most of the carpet stains came back up within a week and the puppy hasn't been here, so I know they aren't new stains. I feel the regular carpet clean yielded the same result and was 100s of dollars cheaper. Dropping one star.

I finally just gave in to the higher price version of cleaning, later feel being forced into this transaction, and being ripped off. The technician did just a little longer than one hour of work and left. They charged me almost $400 for it. I had a 9:00 a.m. appointment that was scheduled several days in advance and had already been…read moreconfirmed. At 8:57 a.m., the lead technician sent me a text stating that I had seven minutes to confirm the appointment or the office may reschedule me. He then called twice around 9:00 a.m. I did not hear my phone. When I saw the missed calls around 9:30, I returned his call. I began asking a very simple question. If I had already scheduled the appointment for 9:00 a.m. and confirmed it days earlier, why was I being required to confirm it again at 8:57 that morning with only seven minutes to respond? I was not even allowed to finish the question. The technician immediately became loud and defensive. He repeatedly stated, "I'm not doing this this morning," and told me, "I'm not going into whatever you're about to go into." He also accused me of cutting him off while continuing to speak over me. The problem with that response is simple. He had no idea what I was "about to go into" because he would not allow me to finish a sentence. At one point, after repeatedly being spoken to in that manner, I said something to the effect of "What the hell is this?" and asked, "Is this a business?" He immediately focused on my use of the word "hell" rather than his own conduct leading up to that moment. I did not call him names. I did not begin the conversation cursing. I returned his call and attempted to ask a legitimate question about a confirmed appointment. What makes this particularly concerning is that this individual is identified as a lead technician. Someone placed in a lead position should be capable of answering a basic customer question without becoming combative, dismissive, or raising his voice. Leadership should reflect professionalism, judgment, and the ability to communicate with customers, especially when there is a disagreement or misunderstanding. I have also had contractors working in my home throughout the week. A technician calling before arrival is completely understandable. What is not understandable is treating a call at 8:57 a.m. as a new confirmation requirement for a 9:00 a.m. appointment that was already scheduled and confirmed. If responding to the technician on the morning of service is a condition of keeping the appointment, that should be clearly disclosed when the appointment is scheduled. It should not be introduced three minutes before the scheduled time with a seven minute deadline. I then called the office eight times this morning because I wanted to speak with a supervisor about the way this lead technician represented the company. Eight calls. No answer. The company lists its Saturday business hours as 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., yet I was unable to reach anyone in the office to address the conduct of one of its lead employees. At that point, this became more than an issue with one technician. It became an issue with the company's communication, customer service, and accountability. A scheduling policy can be explained. A missed telephone call can be addressed. What cannot be excused is a lead technician becoming confrontational before a customer can even finish asking a question, followed by eight unanswered calls to an office that represents itself as open. If this is the level of service and professionalism this company considers acceptable, I would not recommend them. One star is generous.

My dog had a blow-out the morning after I gave him a doggy Christmas treat from PetSmart. It was…read morenot a pretty site. I used my Bissell cleaner which helped get most of it out of the carpet, but not all. I jumped on Yelp and found Chem-Dry. I called and the owner was available to come out within a few hours to clean my carpet. What a life saver! Once he arrived he explained that he would not be using my water for the cleaning, like most carpet cleaners. His company's process uses more chemicals than water. This allows the carpet to dry within a few hours. The other advantage, he explained, is that the chemicals he uses do not stay behind in the carpet. When chemicals are left in the carpet this causes the carpet to get dirty faster as the chemicals attract dirt. My carpet looked and smelled great after he finished! And the carpet dried pretty quick too. His company has a guarantee that if the stain comes back within 30 days, call them and they'll come out and clean it again. That's a pretty good deal!

So I was in a search to get the carpets at my place cleaned. I initially chose this place because we share the same first name, which I thought was pretty cool. So we made the appointment for a Saturday, and they showed up on-time no problem. Even called my wife to let her know they were on their way. After doing a quick square-footage measurement, they quickly got to work. Now my place isn't that big, roughly 1300 sq ft. But it is upstairs and downstairs, with the stairs being carpeted as well. They were very quick, yet thorough in their work and were finished within an hour. Carpets took about another hour or two to completely dry. Zachary's Chem-Dry definitely did a stellar job, too. Virtually all of the stains were removed, included a red doggie vomit that was hidden under the sofa. I was surprised they were able to get that one out! So, if you're in the market to get those carpets cleaned, I would recommend giving Zachary's a shout. Very reasonable prices, and quick service means I will definitely be coming back.
