Such a good spot with delicious burgers. Love live the Washington, Big Rock, and the Duvall ones are my favourites!!! I also like sweet potato fries over regulars. They have this yellow drink that tastes good. I think they change their drink menu seasonally but they always have cider :) they have a Flocktober beer lately and they had some peachy ones on summer. I've seen music at night on their deck. Pretty spot at dark. Sometimes it can get busy during the day. Specialist you are looking for a table outside. Lots of trucks on the street. Easy to park on the streets nearby. Staff is friendly. I don't know what happened this last time. Was it too busy? Was a young lady on training? But still the same friendly staff covering her. the food was meh and way too expensive. I get inflations like crazy but still. They also gave me spiked lemonade when i asked for normal lemonade despite me being 18. My friend and I came here a few months ago. We got a bad vibe when the first snarky waitress, said, "I don't care where you sit." I got a fight or flight vision. We hung in there. Second larger waitress bartender ignored us, I kept saying ,"excuse me," to order a second round of wine. After she kept circling and ignoring me, I yelled louder, she turned with anger in her eyes, didn't respond. Third waitress came over and slammed our drinks as hard as she could, and glared at us. The Duvall Tavern wasn't always a favorite but whoever took over the kitchen and really turned it around. The wings are very tasty and meaty, not the mini-wings you get at some places. The hamburger is good, not great but for the Happy Hour $6 price we will be back again and again. The tap selection is good, we've been 50/50 on the service ironically the table service is better than the bar service it will not stop us from going, they might have just been down a bartender. read more

I am really not a prudish whiner, I was a Waiter for 5 years and a Cook for 2 and my parents owned a Nice Place on the River South of Chicago so I get it! Food prices have gone up in some cases 50%! Burgers are ala-cart now at $12- 14 (same) but Fries are now an added $4-6.50 + NO MORE PICKLE! FIFTH... The management HAS NOT properly trained the Food Staff - our food sat in the window for 5 minutes (with NO heat lamp) while our wait person walked by it at least 5 times! - We sat literally 5 feet from the Food Window so it would of taken less than 10 seconds to grab & serve! - what's even worse is her helper stood at the window playing with To Go bags and bagging up food (2-3 minutes) that no one was waiting for cuz it sat on the Bar for another 3 minutes - then the helper nonchalantly delivered fries that just came up while our burgers sat even longer! - worse even still he was casually eating a Wrap of some sort (with his barehands) this whole time while never bothering to wipe his hands at all with sanitizer - the Waiter / Bartender never once sterilized after Handling payments... Touch Screen Orders to Kitchen... Serving Food... Serving Drinks and dressing cocktails with limes, cherries, etc. GROSS even before Covid! - We were there 60 minutes and that whole time I never saw anyone sanitize anything... These guys seem to have the fun vibe for their corner of the valley nailed, and they're proudly hanging banners outside to prove it--they just won best restaurant in Duvall, which says something since they present themselves first and foremost as a tavern. Even though we didn't stay for lunch, it's easy to see why they do well as a restaurant, though. First of all, this place appears to have been here since before the war--they have old black and white photos here and there inside to document it. There's not much parking outside, since the horses and buggies have gotten bigger through the years, and there's a petrol station next door nowadays. But there's enough parking. There's evidently a good chance that you'll park next to a local deputy who's inside grabbing a lunch order while on duty. We didn't see the badge inside, but, still, cops always know where to get the good cheap grub to go, so that's an awesome sign. Inside, the floor slopes down toward the valley, and the divider railings make it a zigzag to get past the bar to the bathrooms. You pass the kitchen on your way, and the staff are cracking each other up, and everything smells really, really good. Back out at the table, the room is likely either full or filling up fast. The stools all have names, presumably for regulars--Grumpy, Old Fart, and so on. You either like a place that has goofy names on the stools, or you don't. But you probably should like it, because it's kinda funny and cool. The staff here are energetic and eager to make sure you enjoy your stay. Even when I sheepishly explained that I was solely out and about trying to find obscure breweries, and their keg had kicked of the one I wanted to try, they still eagerly sold me on their other good taps. And they have good ones! I could easily while away an afternoon or evening here. I like the people, prices, and setting, and can't wait to come back for a proper visit. read more

I find this place totally AWESOME! We have driven buy a million times but never have bothered stopping in. Both times I have visited recently we sat on the outdoor patio which is spacious and really nice, all the tables have umbrellas, so you can choose to sit on the sunny side or shady side. I have seen children on both occasions on the patio, so that's good to know. Service our first time was really good, the second time their computers had gone down so our waitress was a bit frazzled, can't really blame her. We were told everything is made from scratch, and it really shows from the hamburger buns to the cheese sauce on the nachos to the home marinated roasted and sliced corn beef. We've had the WA burger, the BBQ burger, the ruben, the nachos and the truffle fries. Everything has been really good and tasty! We have been coming for several years and I like the new menu. It's pretty expensive, but tasty. I must say it has not been as crowded as before and I like that. When packed the place just is not comfortable. I had their version of a Cuban. It really wasn't like an authentic Cuban, but wow is was tasty. The slaw was gloppy and not so good. A tavern with a lot of history, you'll find locals here willing to share some stories. The food is good, the burgers and sandwiches are great. We had the house red wine, the chicken fig prosciutto sandwich, and the Washington State burger. The burger is good sized and with a delicious white cheddar and wonderful onion apple jam, i'd recommend asking for just a little extra. The fries were well cooked with the skin on them, but you'll have to salt them yourself. I very much enjoyed the chicken sandwich however it was just a bit on the dry side. This place has changed ownership over and over. We just tried them again and the menu changed so much, it was hard to choose what to eat. There was not much selection as compared to the past. The staff working seemed a bit spacey and not with it at all. The environment was cold. Heaters were available but not up and running. Red Robins burgers are better. I don't know why this Tavern does not hage a 5 star rating. After a few hours of berry picking in Carnation we stopped in for drinks and bites. The service was amazing. Esther the server was up beat super accommodating . My Moscow Mule was the best I've ever had. I believe Bryson was the name of the bartender. The burgers are not your run of the mill just pulled out of the freezer. Someone took the time to love these burger patties from fresh meat. Oh and its on a brioche bun. The side salad you can opt for instead of tots or fries is huge. Oh almost forgot the wings are also the bomb. We had the bbq wings, cooked to perfection and not over sauced. Did I mention the burger on happy hour was $6 with cheese and bacon! An absolute steal. Tastes like a $15 burger in Seattle. They gave a nice area for outside seating. Well shaded. This place has really great bar food, BUT it's always understaffed so on a typical day it can take 30+ minutes to get a burger. Staff is great, but not enough of them. If you have an hour+ to eat some burgers, go for it! I always end up politely chasing down staff at the end of the meal to get the bill, otherwise that's another 20+ minutes of waiting. read more

Dropped in today for a late lunch. Service was terrible. Bar was mostly empty and after finding a table near the bar and asking for a menu, they placed my order. 20 minutes later my order came up, and sat there, and sat there, and sat there. After 7 minutes of watching the staff look at it and move on, I finally asked if I should go get it myself. They brought my sandwich and fries over and walked away. Fries were cold, hot ham and cheese was congealed and cool. Usually the service is pretty good, at least if you're drinking, but not so.much today.
