Dwayne was initially very helpful, but ultimately turned out to be undependable and uncommunicative. I hired him to patch, seal and finish some water-damaged drywall, replace a window casing, and replace a piece of tile over the drywall. He was initially cheerful and responsive, and gave me a very fair quote for the work and materials. I accepted, and he immediately patched the drywall and installed the window casing. At his request, I paid his full fee in advance, in good faith - he said he was short on cash and needed to make rent. When it came to finishing the job - replacing the tile piece, sanding off the edges of his patch work - he suddenly became unresponsive. After months of unreturned texts and calls, he told me that he was suffering from some unspecified health issues that prevented him from finishing, yet promised that he would finish. I frankly doubt his excuses given his many positive reviews from others in the last few months - he was clearly able to do the work; it just seems to me that he just didn't want to finish. Dwayne finally stopped returning my calls. I feel like he got 80% of the work done; it's acceptable but not great, and it was really frustrating dealing with him. Despite being slammed with snow-related work, like all local contractors right now, Dwayne answered my phone call right away, and promised to be there the next morning. He showed-up as promised. The repair situation was sketchy, with broken glass mixed-in with the snow, and the roof threatening another dump into the work area. Dwayne used his creativity to improvise a solution that will get us through until melt-out, which is exactly what we needed - but I appreciated that he also was careful not to expose himself to ridiculous personal risk!
