    Highly refreshing beer at Dwinell!
    Alden C.

Dwinell Country Ales was definitely my favorite brewery in the eastern side of the Columbia River Gorge. This brewery specializes in farmhouse ales and all of the options are very unique! In fact there were so many options that were so intriguing that after having a very pleasant glass of Saison Steven and I proceeded to get a taster tray of various other beers because everything was just so unique about the brewing recipes and ingredients here! We had a fantastic sample of a coffee flavored ale that really left a mark on me but all of the beers we tried were just fantastic! The beertender was very congenial and we had a nice chat. I would definitely come back and eventually it will be in the cards to return because our attempt to go to the Goldendale Observatory didn't happen because it was still closed as well as the nearby Stonehenge replica at Maryhill so eventually a return trip will be happening when these places are open and a pit stop for some beer here as well!

So so so good!!! Everyone is so nice and the atmosphere is perfect. Best part is they have a wide variety of beer selection. Amazing!!! Love it!

Small town, small craft brewery, big experience! The server was knowledgeable, the history display was cool, and the beers were good! I especially liked the Ghost town with Cranberry - a beer they mixed with a fruity syrup - an interesting combination and nice change from all the run of the mill brews. This brewery is out of the way and you might not just be driving through and see it... but it is worth the trip!

Nice little stop. Great beer! Food truck was just starting to set up as we we're heading out. Bbq was on menu. 16 taps going, cider and soda. Kid and animal friendly.

    Nearby Columbia River Gorge hiking!

Fantastic brewery - friendly owners and out of the ordinary sour & farmhouse style beers if you're feeling adventurous.

He had no personality, no polite comment or conversation and even seemed annoyed when asked how his day was going. I asked to substitute the feta cheese with a different cheese offered on the menu and his initial response was we can't do that. He then asked if I had an allergy which I did not but expressed feta was a cheese not to my liking. He asked me what I would want if my request was unable to be met and I expressed being unsure. As he walked away my thought was did they pre make the salads? He did return saying they are able to change the cheeses. The cherry salad was amazing the combination of flavors switching out the feta with a smoked Gouda I believe even added to the overall salad. I added the chicken to my salad and was completely surprised that the chicken was dark meat which was not noted. I have never been given dark meat when adding chicken it has always been white meat (chicken breast). I won't have added the chicken had I known this as I don't enjoy dark meat. However the salad was good the cherries, picked onions candied pistachios and vinaigrette was light and refreshing. The French fries were fabulous - fresh cut, crispy, salty with a tasty aioli sauce. They were finger licking good.

Upon arrival we saw a few different beers we wanted to try. Luckily quite a few of them were in cans which we took home but we had a beer there at the taproom also to absorb and relax at the taproom location. An adorable cat that more than likely lived there or put in a hard working shift of charming customers was present and we made over the kitty and pet it when it came to see us. Such a lovely cat! But onto the beer now! For the beer that we had at the taproom we had the Rice and Shine Japanese Lager. This was a pretty solid lager and one of my favorite types of lagers. I do love a lager that involves rice. Perhaps not the best ever that I have come across but still quite good. The flavor profile of this beer has a clean, crisp and refreshing aspects to it along with a biscuity flavor. The rest of the beers we had went home with us in cans. One beer was the River Pillow. This was a Pale Ale and had a nice, soft feel to it. The hop presence wasn't too overwhelming. We had another Pale Ale also. This one was called the Shredipede. This beer has a clean, crisp and citrusy presence to it. It is bright in hue and is nice and crushable which means you can have more than one with ease. Moving on from that was another kind of lager. This one was a Mexican Lager. The name of this one was the Pinche Chela. Mexican Lagers are another favorite lager of mine if not my #1 favorite for this beer type. This beer has a nice corn taste which provides a natural sweetness and the beer is nice and crisp. Again... perhaps not my most favorite version that I have had but enjoyable all the same. After that we went to darker beer territory and had a dry Irish Stout. I love these kinds of stouts because of that dryness aspect at work. Other flavor features in this are roastiness, oatmeal and the feel of it is smooth, creamy and soft. An excellent stout. This was a good stop and I am glad this brewery finally got tried out.

A fun vibe with local made beers. There's also an arcade machine in the back that's free to play. They currently only have 4 bars on tap, but the service is fast and easy. Overall a great place for fun but lowkey vibes.

Sitting on the prairie, taking in the beauty of the orchard, vineyard, and grassy hills - it's the perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening. We attended their end of the season / holiday event on 11/13/21 and had such a good time! Tasking flights weren't available since there were so many people there, but we created out own by purchasing a glass of six different ciders and sharing. The blackberry currant with hints of rosemary had me from the first sip and I ended up drinking most of that glass! And bought a growler to go. All of the ciders are dry; some take a few sips to really tune in to the flavors and with each sip, they get better. At the holiday sale they had a food truck making gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches which were the perfect accompaniment. And apple cider doughnuts. They made gift bags with a variety and quantity of ciders and added tee shirts or hand towels, all in cool patterns. Family and dog friendly! Im looking forward to the spring so I can go back and enjoy this beautiful venue in the spring, then summer and fall. Yep, I will be a regular! Until then, I'll enjoy their cider at several breweries and restaurants around Hood River and Portland, and will buy bottles at St. John's Marketplace in Portland.

Everything provided was the perfect pairing for their delicious cider. Make sure to keep an eye out for when they're open. Coming here is definitely not to be missed!
