Before I begin anything, I want to thank Dylan for an amazing and smooth service. I had never heard of them until I got a recommendation on Yelp. It was a long interstate move, from Virginia to Texas, and we weren't sure which service to pick, but Dylan on the the phone call gave us a great price and assurance that everything will go smoothly. I took the leap of faith. On the day of the move, we had all our boxes ready, Dylan and his colleague started packing them with the tape and other items like TV, chairs with blankets. I was worried if everything will be delivered in one piece or no, but to my surprise Dylan got everything in 2 days safely. They usually do all the packing, loading and unloading, but it's always recommended to clear everything on the phone call before signing up and paying the deposit. We had planned for a 2pm start time. Two of three movers arrived about a quarter before but mentioned they hadn't eaten lunch yet and asked us to order for something delivered (they said they would pay but I included this in my tip). By the time the 3rd mover arrived and they finished eating, it was 3pm and this was not ideal since the move happened in January when it'd get dark by 6pm. I also was accurate with all the items that I had except I underestimated the number of boxes by 10. All the furniture was accounted for. They brought a small truck and could not fit everything in one go so they had to make two trips, lengthening the total time of moving. Despite the late start time and the extra two hours of moving, the movers were fast and efficient AND didn't break or damage anything. During the communications, Dylan/Mubina were very responsive. We found Dylan's through Yelp - it was quite convenient to be able to send a request for quotes to a list of moving companies. Dylan's was the first to respond and as it turned out, also the most reasonable in price - for a 2 person crew with a 16 ft truck. For the job - moving about 100+ already packed boxes to a storage unit - this is just right (most of the other quotes were higher with 3-person crews). Overall, the move went well - the only reason I'm giving it fewer than 5 stars is due to an inexplicable mix up of origin and drop off locations on day of the move which resulted in the work being delayed by 45 minutes (luckily the distance between the two points was only about 6 miles). But once they arrived at the right pick up point, everything went super smoothly. The two movers were very professional and efficient - if I were just rating the quality of loading/unloading alone it'll be 5 stars - and finished the job within the labor estimate of 2-3 hours (there is a minimum charge of 3 hours which includes 1 for travel time, and 2 for labor). Note that once the move is confirmed they'd require a deposit (Venmo or Zelle), and final payment by cash or credit card must be settled on site when the move is completed. read more

I DO NOT recommend this company! The owner was extremely rude to both myself and another friend who used this company the same weekend. They showed up 2 hours late for me and 3 hours late for my friend (we were both the first moves of the day). When I called to ask about the late arrival, the owner told me to "wait or cancel." He yelled at my friend on the phone and then hung up on her. The actual movers for both of our jobs were really nice and apologetic. 14.5-hour move for a 3BR/3BA. I will try to share the facts. We had a 3BR/3BA, ~1700 sq ft detached house with a small yard. Basement, ground, and top floor. I asked for help with packing, and was told they do this, it's just a matter of time as it's charged per hour. I provided a list of furniture and facts about the house size, as requested. Later we switched from Yelp to WhatsApp for communications, and I was able to continue asking Qs or sharing info with the admin. The total move time was 14.5 hours from DC to Fairfax, VA with a 4-man crew. (Online estimates range from 7-10). $2k total (plus the costs of lunch, water, dinner, and tips). And I ended up renting a UHaul van a couple days later to finish taking over everything that didn't make it on the moving day. They showed up at 830 for an 8am start time without a heads up. They showed up without power tools. All disassembly was done by hand. They showed up with a truck that was too small for the job. The crew told me the truck would be too small after an initial walk through of 2-3 spaces, and I ended up speaking with the owner. He was unable to obtain another truck, and promised a 'discount' so that if we did two trips, I wouldn't be paying for the extra drive time back and forth. They showed up without any boxes or bubble wrap. (They had the typical moving tape and blankets.) My list of what I shared with them was pretty close to right, but the owner told me later it was very off. Did I leave off a few things? Yes. For example, I forgot to mention our grill and 2 large power tools. Did I forget to mention HALF of the things we own? No. Does it take longer to move things when you don't have boxes and the crew is moving individual items? Yes. (By the end of the 2nd trip, we were out of boxes we'd bought.) Does it take longer to disassemble furniture without power tools? Yes. They disassembled our bed, dining room table, 3 couches, outdoor dining table, dining table, TV mount, coffee table, and 2 garage shelving units. Despite listing they assemble and disassemble, this 14.5-hour move did not include assembly of most of those items. By 11pm that night, what was reassembled: bed, dining room table, 1 couch had 4 legs screwed back on (not the two Ikea couches that take actual assembly). None of the rest was re-assembled. So the following days, we are re-assembling our own furniture after paying $2k for movers. They removed the handrail to the basement to get things out, leaving 3 huge marks on the wall, and were unable to re-attach the handrail to the basement (using hand screw drivers). (I did ask about this when they were unable to do the handrail, and they said it was to avoid damaging furniture.) I was told I could pay by cash or credit card would cost 4% more. By 11pm when the job finally finishes, I am told I cannot pay by credit card. (I ended up using Zelle, but a $2k swing between what I thought would be put on my credit card vs. my checking account was huge for our finances.) The total is hundreds of dollars more than I estimated based on multiple internet estimates for house size/crew size/time. At 11pm the job is "done" (though furniture not reassembled) and I try to get a hold of the owner to discuss the 'discount' promised. I bounce btw the crew, the owner, and the admin, all between phone calls, texts, and WhatsApp. They offer $200 as a "good discount" despite it costing $300 in extra drive time alone. And I told them about the basement handrail, which I was told would be accounted for and it was not. It takes 30-45 min of trying to get a hold of someone and then negotiating back and forth--while the 4 men are just waiting around to be released to go home-- and we finally come to deal. It ended up being 14.5 hours total and $2,000, and over by 11:45pm. Moving back into subjective realm... it just felt like the men worked hard and they weren't set up for success by the the company. I provided lunch, dinner, water/gatorades, and tipped the crew. But I will never use this company again. I went with this company because they had a lower hourly rate, and it ended up being way more expensive in the long-run compared to some of the other more established companies I've used in the past. If this company continues, they should... * Bring appropriate truck size * Bring Boxes and moving materials when requested * Supply crew with water * Supply crew with power tools like other moving companies do (and provide necessary training in advance to ensure at least 1 person knows how to safely use a drill, power driver, and change torque settings to * Alert customers when showing up late * Dont refer to things as "flat rates" when they are variable. The only thing is they dropped on of my dresser drawers and only gave me 5% discount but my dresser was much more expensive than that. Outside of that, the movers are great. Dylan provided excellent service! We experienced several hiccups while moving because of my apartment complex but Dylan rolled with each punch. Something was left on the truck by mistake (it was something that was easily missed) and Dylan brought it back the next day. There is a service charge to use credit cards for payment (so use cash if you have it). There is also a charge for wraps and tape for furniture so be sure to ask about full costs at the time of booking so that you can budget accordingly. All in all, I would recommend Dylan's Movers. On time, and did a great job moving my furniture without any damage. Be aware they do charge extra for any materials they use like wrap. I would give this company a zero star if possible. I am planning on a move from Maryland to Florida. I contacted the owner 6 months before my moving date and gave him every details about the move (sqft of the house, moving date, furnitures). Initially he said it would be $5500. Two months later he told me it would be $5700 and promised me with no more price increases. But just a week ago he called me again and said it would be $8000. He left me completely speechless. With my husband being in the military for years we have experienced moving around often.I wish I could say this move went as smoothly as when we moved to a different continent since this was just a local move, but it was the complete opposite. I was originally quoted for the move to be only 3-4 hours since it was a local move, but the move lasted for 2 DAYS! I gave a long list of everything that needed to be moved when making the appointment weeks before which was a lot of big furniture among other household items and was shocked seeing how small of a truck was brought for this move. The movers who came were unaware of what they were moving so they were just as surprised as we were with this truck and knew we couldn't get it done in one trip. Day 1 of this move resulted in thousands of dollars of damage. Our sectional couch was completely ruined, our kitchen table now has a noticeable scratch on top, bedroom dresser was damaged, as well as our baby's furniture. Walls and floors were scratched and damaged at the rental we were moving out of (which we are now responsible for paying) along with the walls at the house we were moving into. Day 2 of the move went smoother moving wise but the times constantly changed. The company scheduled with us for 9am so my husband was waiting for them at the house waiting to move that morning...then we were told 12 pm....then 3pm...then 5-6 pm....back to 3 pm...back to 6pm. At one point they said they couldn't even come at all which left us in a panic as we needed to be out of this rental and into our new house asap. I felt so bad for my husband who was waiting around since 8:30am for them to show up! After these two truck full trips, lots of stuff was still left behind which resulted in a LOT of trips packing our cars as much as we could trying to get it all out. This is a very condensed version of this move but I can not out of good conscience recommend this company. They had quoted me the lowest in price and with the great reviews they had, I thought it was going to go well but I was quickly mistaken. And although THOUSANDS of dollars was lost in this move with our furniture and property damage, the company couldn't cover but one or two hundred dollars of it. You get what you pay for. Terrible moving experience. Not only did the movers lose my coffee table (not sure how that happens), they broke multiple items. After paying over $1000 for the fees and tip, I contacted Dylan to discuss the items that were broke and missing because I didn't realize it until I unpacked everything. He agreed to pay me a portion back to cover the loss of a few items but never paid me back. He won't answer calls, texts, or emails. Originally said he is a small company so doesn't have money to pay me back but he had no problem taking the cash I paid for the move originally. Absolutely unacceptable. Don't recommend using this company and would give zero stars if I could. Update: You have not resolved this issue yet, money is still owed to me. And I contacted you the very next morning regarding the table and broke items, it wasn't 2 days later (which seem strange?) maybe you shouldn't hire "contract" workers and actually employ people whom you have met prior to letting them represent your company. While I appreciate the response, I don't appreciate the lies. Your movers were not efficient at all and the only thing they helped pack was glassware from my kitchen - they did not put a single other thing in boxes nor did they help box anything else up. Their only job was to move boxes and furniture from the apartment to the moving truck and they took an incredibly long time to do this. When I spoke to the coordinator, she was also shocked. They did waste time and they were inefficient. Your coordinator promised to look into it and you all put me in a difficult position and then completely stopped answering calls and messages. You should have done something to compensate for the time and misquote. This is a poor business and I reiterate again, do not hire!! read more

What a great move! I had a pre-move phone call to go over all the logistics, and the woman on the phone was nice enough to explain the rate, extra fees, and tips to make the move as smooth as possible. To expedite the move, I made sure to pack everything in boxes and suitcases so it could easily be loaded in. I also bought two rolls of tape myself (big furniture gets wrapped and taped up in blankets) so I wouldn't be charged by them per tape roll. I got a phone call the day-of that the truck had an issue and would arrive 3 hours later than I had originally booked, but thankfully, they offered to have an extra mover join for free. Dylan's Movers loaded everything into the truck in an hour, and, after a 45 minute drive, they had unloaded everything after another hour. My deposit went towards the final cost, which was a nice bonus. For $215, Dylan's Movers executed my "small" move in the DMV in under three hours, and helped me immensely on a stressful day. I can't recommend them enough, especially if you have a short and small move like mine. read more

Dylan's movers helped move us from VA to MD. They were quick and responsive when I first reached out asking for quotes and setting up our move date. For the size of our move (2 bedroom apartment-- 3rd floor), they recommended 2 trucks and 4 movers. At first I didn't think we'd need that many people/trucks but they were absolutely correct. The movers were so friendly, thoughtful, extremely cautious and efficient. I did not for a moment think they were going slow or trying to pad the move time. I took a star off for a few issues that occurred on the administrative side. Just for future awareness, they do not offer insurance on broken items and if they do, their policy is fuzzy at best. For example, we wanted to insure a large TV and when I initially called to set up our move, I specifically asked if they offer insurance on high cost items. I was told yes. I asked again closer to our move, and again I was told yes and that if an item is broken or damaged in the move, Dylan's mover would reimburse full retail cost or pay for repairs, whichever we preferred. Day of the move, as we were reading the contract over, we noticed their insurance policy said, reimbursement of .60 cents per pound, up to 75$. So we called before signing and were told they do not have insurance as was described to me. We tried to get something more concrete in regards to what our options were if something were broken but in the end we were just assured nothing would break because the movers would be very careful with our items. Having that ambiguity was really stressful and frustrating. But in the end everything arrived perfectly and intact. The movers they employ are great at their jobs. read more
