I brought my Mercedes in for four new tires, an oil and filter change, and several other requested…read moreservices. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing, especially as a first-time customer. I specifically showed the customer representative a photo of the exact oil and specifications requested for my vehicle. Nevertheless, the wrong oil was initially used. Although it was technically compatible, it was not the oil I requested or the oil I consider appropriate for my specific Mercedes V8 Bi-Turbo engine, particularly given Florida's climate. When I questioned the issue, two employees initially provided incorrect information and essentially insisted that the requested oil had been used. Only after I provided evidence to the contrary was the mistake acknowledged. I then had to return the following day for another oil change because the requested oil was not actually in stock and had to be ordered. There was no apology or meaningful acknowledgment of the inconvenience. When I attempted to explain why I specifically requested that oil, including providing documented information showing that the same oil had previously been used by the Mercedes dealership and during several of my prior oil changes, the employee taking the order became argumentative and showed little interest in understanding or addressing my concern. Unfortunately, the oil issue was not the only problem. Other issues included a broken air-intake hose component that was not broken when I inspected the engine the day before; improperly inflated new tires (37, 38, 33, and 37 psi) instead of my specifically requested 38 psi in the front and 42 psi in the rear, which corresponds to my vehicle's specified load requirements; a misplaced special tire valve cover; a loose rubber O-ring left on the engine, which I could not identify or determine where it belonged; fluids that were not checked as requested; and the absence of a protective floor mat, which resulted in black oil stains being left on my beige driver's floor mat. Greasy fingerprints were also left on the door handles, hood, and other areas of the vehicle. Overall, too many important and seemingly minor details were overlooked. Individually, some of these issues might seem insignificant, but taken together, they demonstrate a lack of attention to detail and professionalism that I would not expect when entrusting my vehicle to a professional service center. If you care about your vehicle and expect professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail, I would recommend considering a different Firestone location. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and addresses the issues with its staff and service procedures.

The issue turned out to be a bad evaporator, not an easy job that requires dismantling the dashboard. Alonso and his crew took care of the job quickly and at a nominal price. Turns out they also replaced another evaporator for us eight years ago.
