For the grout they sprayed a commercial grade cleaning solution beforehand, let it sit and used their commercial grade machine to pull the soil/dirt from the grout. I have two big dogs, so I have them come about every nine months and they consistently do the wall-to-wall carpet in my basement and the stairs up to the first floor as well as my couch. And the couch is done cushion by cushion and pillow by pillow. Both the carpet and the couch always look brand new after they leave.
