The worst customer service ever in my entire life. The owner or the manager, Jay, was extremely rude and unprofessional. Here is what happened. I booked the $220 Road to Hana tour through Viator. When I booked, I chose the pick-up point nearest to my place. There were two time choices, 7 AM or 8:30 AM, and I chose 7 AM. The next day, Jay called me and said I should talk to Viator and cancel it because their bus is not going that way. (Then why have you not updated in Viator??). But I didn't mind because I really wanted to go on that trip, so I said I would come to their place, but I needed to change the time to 8:30 AM. He said it was fine. Then, he said, "Only lunch provided," and I asked, "Sorry, why was breakfast not provided?" I was genuinely curious because he had not given me any reason. And then he said, "Anyone who is going at 8:30 is not getting breakfast," and okay, not ideal, but I didn't say anything back, I was fine. And then suddenly, the guy canceled my trip and told me to "book another tour company." I was confused about what just happened, so I called him, and as soon as I said hello, he was literally yelling at me and said, "I tried to include you on the tour, but you are picking on small things. You are the type of customer who would come on a tour and demand a refund. I don't want to discuss this anymore. Don't call me back," and he just hung up. I didn't get a chance to say a word during the phone call. I do not understand why this tour company still exists, with such extremely rude and poor treatment of customers. Wow who knew a whole day on a island tour would be so amazing and fly by. We decided to use the tour instead of missing the great locations and drive the treacherous roads ourselves and I'm glad we did. Kaili went above and beyond, entertaining, energizing and definitely informing us throughout the entire tour. From Hawaiian culture, personal experience, history, movies...he knew it all abs made a 10 hour trip fly by. You would never know that we were driving dirt roads as skillful as he was maneuvering the large 12 passenger van. What a fun and amazing tour! This was me and my husband's first time going through the road to Hana, and I have to say it was a unique and thrilling experience. We had a small group of great fellow passengers, and our tour guide Rudy was the absolute best (I dubbed him Captain Rudy). He kept everyone informed, entertained and safe. Give that man a raise! He absolutely MADE the tour worth it. It did not seem like 10 hours because of all the stunning sights and activities. Kristie Walker did a fantastic job - she entertained the group well with plenty of historical/fun facts and music choices + her driving was smooth and safe! The group (comprised of 4 different groups) never felt awkward and meshed well thanks to her facilitation! The tour picked us up from our Airbnb around 7am and we got back around 6pm. The group had input to add in stops (famous banana bread, red sand beach) and i never felt rushed at the stops (plenty of time to swim in the waterfalls and black sand beach). Maui tip: DO NOT DO ROAD TO HANA ON YOUR OWN!! Book Dynamic Tours!!! Charleston was an EXCELLENT tour guide. He not only was a great driver, but he was also very knowledgeable with the island and taught us so much of its history, culture, and nature. He knew every plant and waterfall at every turn. He told us when to get our cameras ready (although the cameras don't do the views justice!) Even though the tour takes the whole day, it wasn't miserable at all because Charleston was fun. He also picked us up from our hotel, which was the furthest from everyone else in the group, so we appreciated that! After picking everyone up, we stopped at Safeway (with Starbucks inside) before taking off on the tour. This gave us an opportunity to get any food or necessities. Breakfast and lunch were provided by the tour too. Throughout the tour there were plenty of restroom stops and things to see. We were given ample time to enjoy swimming at the waterfalls and seeing the black sand beach and more. This tour gave us the opportunity to see and experience parts of the island I wouldn't have known about. If you plan to do Road to Hana, this tour is the way to go!!! Otherwise you'd be too occupied with focusing on the crazy road and worrying about parking that you wouldn't notice or learn anything about what you're driving through. TIP: Be prepared! As a young couple visiting Maui for the first time, I was a bit weary about spending 13 hours in a van all day. I am SO glad that I did!! It was the BEST part of our Maui trip. Do not, under any circumstances, take this tour. The tour guide (David) is insulting to tourists (making it a point to single out any rental car along the way), and uninformative (keeps repeating the same facts multiple times). The van is stuffed to the brim with 14 adults, and has ineffective air conditioning (which the tour guide refused to turn up all the way upon guests' requests). All of the sights are on one side of the van, so best of luck if you are on the other side. Go with the Polynesian Adventure Company. Where to start? Let's start with our amazing tour guide --Jacob! He is super knowledgeable, personable, and authentic. Authenticity on the part of the tour guide creates opportunities to connect and feel comfortable with asking questions. He starts by sharing his background story, which is really helpful! It allows us to get a better understanding of why he would have the perspective he does and how he obtains his understanding of Maui. He really cares about the safety of the tour group. There are short moments on the drive where there is a need for extra attention to be paid on the road, he takes of his mic and concentrates on driving. We were lucky to have a small group! They usually did not run tours that were under 10 people, we had six! It allows us to visit more places and allows for us to not have to deal with losing parts of the group. The morning starts with pick up. Depending on where you are on the island, the earlier or later your pick up time will be. The person picking us up was not the tour guide, but the owner. He collected us all and met up with Jacob to switch drivers. Once we were with our tour guide, we stopped off at our first restroom break. They do a really good job at providing restroom breaks, I felt like we had at least one every hour. Then they go to pick up the breakfast and lunch for us. This is the only negative I really have with the trip. The food provided is not great but it's not their fault. It's the market they pick up from's fault. I bought some spam masubis at this place, the rice was hard and just altogether not yummy. Barely touched any of the food provided. I just bought snacks and drinks at the market and at any stands we came upon. Most of your time is spent taking in just how beautiful nature is. Learning about how the plant life arrived at Maui, what the plant life does to the eco system. You see lots of waterfalls and we spent an hour at Waianapanapa Black Sand Beach. We stop by little farm stands along the way. Jacob took us around East Maui, we even got to see the side where it looked almost desert like! Then when it's time to go back to the hotels, Jacob meets up with the other driver at the ride share and he drives us back to our hotels. We are so glad we did not drive the Road to Hana ourselves! It rains, it turns into one way roads, you get no cell phone reception -- no wonder its called Divorce Highway. My husband and I both do not enjoy driving, so we are glad we didn't drive it! Because then both of us are stressed! Plus we wouldn't have learned so much about Maui if we didn't have Jacob. I really loved this 10 hour tour! read more

So my husband and I booked 2 tours with dynamic- one on Oahu to Pearl Harbor, dole plantation and Polynesian cultural center - and the other on Maui to the road to Hana. We had drastically different experiences. The one on Oahu was a disaster- we were lead to believe our booking included tickets to all the sites. This was not the case. We had to wait hours at Pearl Harbor for standby seats for the USS Arizona memorial- which is when we realized we also did not have tickets to dole and someone else in line told us that that place also has long lines to get in if you don't have tickets. That's when we called and decided to cancel the tour mid-trip so we never even made it to the other 2 locations. I was thankful they refunded us, but their description was very misleadings On the second trip to Hana however, it couldn't have been more different! Our guide, Jay was fantastic! So knowledgeable and all his stories and history of the island really made the long drive times between stops fly by! He was so fun and the trip was a blast! Underwhelmed, Road to Hana interesting but our guide gave us little information and had few stops. The included breakfast was a cold egg and bacon sandwich eaten standing in the Safeway parking lot! No beverage. Lunch was a sandwich eaten in the van! Could we stop at a picnic spot please? I had to ask for a bottle of water, in the back of van but never offered. Driver had a bag of chips but said he would give those out later for a snack! One of the guests in the van said, isn't that Charles Lindbergh's grave? as we drove by. Our tour guide, Jake, made the Road to Hana trip incredibly informative, interesting and fun! He is a Hawaiian native who has a wealth of knowledge. Thanks to Jake, I now have a much better understanding of Hawaiian culture. My boyfriend and I were lucky that we had a nice intimate tour with four other people. It's a long day, but we stopped at many places, including spending two hours exploring on our own and having lunch at Black Sand Beach. All the stops were paced well. Breakfast and lunch were included and were good too. They picked up from Jaws Country Store. Breakfast was rice and bacon or a vegetarian option. Lunch was a sandwich, which wasn't bad. We also brought our own snacks and bought snacks along the tour--macadamia nut vanilla ice cream (yum!). This tour was TOO LONG! Stayed in Lahaina. Got picked up at 6am and dropped off at 645pm. This company makes the full loop, which is wholly unnecessary. The second half is terribly uncomfortable, and repetitive. Our driver, Larry, was well-informed, but stopped too frequently, pointing out waterfall after waterfall, and every single kind of flower and fruit tree. His immense knowledge of the history and culture was overwhelming. 6 hours would have been more than enough to experience the highlights. read more

Touring The Road to Hana is an adventure. The view was spectacular in every turn. The flora and fauna that makes Maui incredibly amazing, the little towns, the Taro fields, the sandy beaches and don't forget...the waterfalls. Unlike other tour guides, Alex as we called him the Tarzan of Maui, got us out of our comfort zones and made sure we experience what this wonderful island is all about. From swimming under a waterfall, going inside a lava cave, swimming inside a fresh water cave, watching giant sea turtles, he was always there with us. We learned more about the islands history, culture, people and music. I highly recommend this tour company with Alex at the helm. Did the tour with Justin. Was one of the best ones I've ever done. We went full circle around the east side of the island and did hana, black sand beach, and numerous other local stops. Justin is an excellent tour guide because he grew up in the area, is an expert in the history of hana and hawaii, and has a lot of love for his hometown. Any question we asked he was able to answer very well! He also told lots of good stories about growing up on Maui. He's a very skilled driver and I never once felt unsafe, despite some of the roads looking challenging. Definitely ask to have Justin lead your tour, highly recommended! read more
