On a vacation filled with great experiences, our Road to Hana tour was one of the highlights. Our guide, Kea, was phenomenal. He arrived early and texted his location. When we met him, he immediately committed our names to memory, and treated us like old friends all day. Kea did an amazing job of connecting with our 6-year-old son and kept him involved throughout the tour. I've done the Road to Hana twice before, but this was easily the best. Kea showed us things we hadn't seen, gave us interesting history lessons, and taught us a lot about the Hawaiian language and culture. He continually went above and beyond to make our tour unforgettable. I would encourage everyone to experience the Road to Hana, but it's so much better when you don't have to do the driving. Jasmine created an individualized tour for our group of 4 & took us from Paia through Hana & around the North & East side of Haleakala. Highlights of the tour included: beautiful farmlands and cows, homemade banana bread stands, numerous stories and history of the island and a stop in Hana for delicious lunch. We went into a lava tube, saw a blow hole off of a black sand beach, jumped into a water pool just underneath a waterfall, hiked into a bamboo Forrest, saw the grave of Charles Lindbergh, and many many breathtaking views. We took a private tour in Maui from our cruise ship to explore and learn about Haleakalā National Park. We did the Haleakalā Summit and Stroll tour. Our guide was Jasmine, and she picked us up right at the pier with a private van. Our goal was to learn as much as we could about the park. My son wanted to earn his Junior Ranger badge. Jasmine brought the printed booklet for him, and he was able to finish it easily because she explained everything in a very fun and educational way. We hiked through Hosmer Grove, and she showed us local plants and animals. We even saw the ʻIʻiwi bird and the Nēnē (Hawaiian Goose). She told us many interesting things about these beautiful animals. Then we went all the way to the summit. It felt like another world. We learned about the silversword plant, the landscape, and the crater. It was very interesting and educational. This was the best excursion of our whole cruise. We stopped at many viewpoints and enjoyed delicious snacks. Jasmine shared amazing history, geology, and even stories about modern life in Hawaii. She grew up on the island, so she knows everything about the land, culture, and nature. We could not have asked for a better guide. I totally recommend this tour. It is worth every dollar. Yvonne took us on the Road to Hana tour. It was great being in a jeep and not driving ourselves lets us see everything without worrying about the road. We ate at the Huli Huli Chicken stand. Really great food! Huge portions worth splitting. It was by a red sand beach. We visited the black sand beach and it was very scenic and different. Multiple blow holes and lava tube. My husband and I did the Taste of Hāna (Halfway to Hāna Town) tour with Kea and it was absolutely amazing. We both can get motion sick, but Kea was such a great driver and kept us engaged the whole time that we felt fine the whole ride (the hana tonic we both drank probably helped, too). Kea taught us about all the native and non-native plants of Maui and their Hawa'aian names as well as some of the history of Maui's people and culture. We learned so much from him! He brought us to all the best scenic points and was a pro at taking pics of us along the way. The fresh banana bread he got for us along the way really lived up to its reputation, and the lunch we bought from Keanae's Hukipa'a Fish Shack was tasty as well. Really happy with the deluxe tour of Halfway to Hana. Don't think my mother in law, in her late 70s be able to take a 10hr road to Hana tour. So, I was lucky to find one that's half the time and starts on various time slots. My impression of them was more than expected. For example, Jasmin was great in getting back to me when I decided to add pick up option on the last minute. And on the day of the tour, Gus was on time. On our way to Hana, Gus gave us alot of history of Maui. And him being close to the locals told us alot about the economic challenges and happenings of the locals. Hiking the Pipiwai Trail, we were told some much great info on the plants and nature. Going on the Holo Holo Hana all the way around tour was a highlight of our trip to Maui. As a private tour they adapted to what we wanted to do. We saw plenty of the bigger tours at various stops dumping out a bunch of people and we were glad we got to go to some of the smaller areas. Kea was amazing and so very knowledgeable. My wife can get car sick but she had no problems with his driving. It was also nice that both of us got to look out and see all the sights instead of one of us white knuckling the corners and bridges. Jasmine is AMAZING! After realizing both me and my husband were too chicken to drive the Road to Hana, we decided to go on a tour. Jasmine was super informative, friendly, helpful, and knew all the right places to take us. We were never rushed and even took longer than our "tour time ", but still never felt like she was rushing us. The boyfriend booked this tour so I can't take the credit for this but we had Gus for our tour guide and he was amazing! We were able to see waterfalls without the crowds with his expertise guidance into the rain forest it was unforgettable. He knew every turn and was able to stop at the yummy fruit stands for some fresh sugar cane juice, vegan coconut ice cream, the best bbq on the island and of course banana bread! He's very personable and so enthusiastic! Loved his stories about the history of the island and info on different plants. We recently did a West Maui/Iao Valley tour with Jasmine from Holo Holo, and we could not have gotten any luckier--she was AMAZING! My husband and I are still talking about the amazing day we had, and how much we liked Jasmine. She was so responsive and helpful via e-mail from the very beginning, and was totally open to customizing our tour--even planning a stop for lunch at a restaurant we wanted to try. In fact, when that restaurant ended up being closed, she took us to The Mill House at Maui Tropical Plantation, which ended up being one of my FAVORITE stops of the day! (If you don't go there on your tour, make sure you go their on your own one day--incredible.) Jasmine is a Maui native and is genuinely interested in teaching you about Maui and Hawaiian history and culture, and sharing her love for her island with you! We learned so much and were so comfortable with her--I felt like we were friends from the minute we met her! She was also more than willing to take pictures and videos of us! She was like our own personal photographer for the day :) Jasmine will customize the tour based on your interests and abilities. We wanted a semi-active/adventurous tour with lots of nice scenery, and that's just what we got! We did some hiking, even climbing down the roots of a Banyan tree to a waterfall, took a few dips in the ocean (Olivine Pools, some other waterfall pools), saw the blowhole...we just can't imagine having a better day. Wounderful private tour. Definitely the way to go if you want to do the Hana drive. Gus our driver/tour guide knows the nooks and crannies of Maui and can provide a personalized tour to suit your needs. The road to Hana is tricky to drive and the mile markers are not that helpful if you try to drive it on your own. If you don't know exactly where you are going it can be difficult because overgrowth can interfere with you finding markers you may be looking for, so you end up wasting your time. Taking this tour was definitely worth it. :) read more

My husband and I were on our Honeymoon in Maui and knew that we wanted to do the Road to Hana - however, a long 12 hour Bus Tour was not appealing to us, and we didn't want to deal with the stress of driving it on our own. After some quick Google research, we chose Holo Holo and booked the 6-hour Taste of Hana Tour ... it was one of the best decisions we made throughout our whole trip! We were lucky enough to have Gus as our own, personal tour guide (for those of you Game of Thrones fans, he resembles Jamie Lannister!) He was so incredibly personable - we felt like we were hanging out with a friend all day! He was also extremely knowledgeable about the area, and took us to "hidden treasures" rather than the Tourists traps on the Road to Hana. The highlight for us was hiking in the rainforest up to a secluded waterfall, and then channeling our inner Jason Siegel and Mila Kunis from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", and jumping off the waterfall cliff! Gus was also extremely passionate and informative about the history & culture of the area and the vegetation - believe it or not, it was so fun and interesting to see, feel, smell and (sometimes) taste all of the different plants, trees & fruits around us that we weren't familiar with. Another huge plus....? Gus was our own, personal photographer! Awkward selfie-stick photos were not needed, and we have now a beautiful album of memories from that day. Holo Holo was recommended by another tour guide that needed to cancel last minute. We originally planned to do a 12 hour tour, but after that tour was canceled we settled on the 'Taste of Hana' 6 hour tour instead. They were great! Haley was our tour guide and I can't say enough about her. She was very knowledgeable about the island and gave us many facts about the plants and scenery on the road to Hana. I did some research prior to our trip and knew I wanted to see many things on the road to Hana. ....Private tour with Jasmine definitely way to go!!!! Our girls ages 11 & 14 thought I was crazy when I said we would be gone the whole day, the fear of boredom was there. This was the most spectacular thing we could have done! Jasmine is full of knowledge and interesting facts, that my 11 year old unbeknownst to me had taken notes on her phone of what she learned! That's impressive! We saw so many amazing places and hiked places I never thought we would! My teen and husband went on a crazy adventure part with Jasmine they will never forget!! We were on the Pride of Americas with an elderly mom looking for private tours / driver / taxi service. It was hard to find at all locations, but on Maui I ended up coming across Holo Holo, and I was very pleased, end to end, with the experience. first, if you hunt around, you'll quickly realize the Holo Holo website is exceptional for easy to use/find/information on services offered and costs. Second, if you email questions, Jasmine will pleasantly answer very quickly. Both of the above are not givens with everyone as you explore various companies. We hired Holo Holo for their "Taste of Hana" tour. We spent 6 hours in a nice, newer, 12 passenger "econoline" type van. Jasmine was actually out of town on our tour day, and we had Rodney for a driver. Rodney is a long time Maui resident and surfer. Everywhere we went, people knew Rodney. He is pleasant, funny, full of stories and history, and took good care of my 80 year old mother. He even had gone out in the garden that morning and hand-made a lei for my mom. (this is just an example of the graciousness provided, the lei is not an offering of Holo Holo.) The Holo Holo tour, and Rodney, was a highlight of our week.
