Really enjoyed our tour of the farm with Dia - she was knowledgeable, kind, and answered all of our questions. The tour was small and private which was nice - really enjoyed seeing the plants, tasting the coffee and chocolate and other foods, and being a part of the creation process. Fun and engaging and a great way to enjoy a week in Maui that didn't go to plan because of the storm. We were not sure what to expect when we first arrived, and questioned even more as we walked the tour. But when we got to the top of the hill and the preparation area, what went before just faded away. Understanding the process of making coffee and chocolate was made so easy by Katelyn our guide. We ground the cocoa beans ourselves, a few times, blowing off the husks as we went. And to see the chocolate butter appear as you keep grinding it is quite something. To say this tour was a scam is a complete understatement. My family and I decided to stop by the Maui Coffee and chocolate tour while visiting the island. We were met with complete disrespect, disorganization, and frankly a horrible tour guide. When we arrived, Anne, our "tour guide" drove past us several times and waved at us from behind locked gates. We waited there over an hour before Anne let our group in. My grandmother called the number on the gates four times, but no one ever answered. As soon as we were let in, Anne asked "why didn't you call to see if you could come in sooner?!" My grandmother told her "we did... 4 times.." We were then brought over a small bench for our party of 12. Only 4 were able to be seated on it. Prior to booking this tour we called and let them know we had several disabled seniors with mobility issues. We we're told, accommodations could be made for our group. After about 20 agonizing minutes of Anne talking about the foliage around the bench, we asked her if we could move on because most of the people in our party were very uncomfortable. We were then lead up a small to medium size hill. She sat and watched as several family members made the hike up. As soon as we reached the top, she said "oops you guys are going the wrong way" I was completely dumbfounded by the statement as it seemed like she waited until the members of the family with disabilities made it to the top of the hill before she mentioned anything. After everyone had gotten down, we were met with an even bigger Hill. In fact, a massive hill. My grandparents were severely struggling making it up. What bothered me most, was seeing my grandmother on the verge of tears since she was in so much pain. It was only after somebody asked Anne (who was riding in a two seater golf cart) if we could offer to let the family with disabilities switch off one by one riding with her. 3/4 of the way through this hill and started making the most inappropriate fat jokes towards my family. One of which was to my grandfather "I don't think we're gonna make it up this hill with your...... Weight." She then gave him a massive side eye. After barely trekking up this mountain, we were met with a shed and we were all told to sit down for the presentation. She proceeded to point to a tiny TV on a table, we saw a slideshow of pictures of the owner and his daughter. We were then taken to the back of the shed to be shown a bucket of fermented coffee beans to which Anne placed her hand into scooped out a handful of beans and shoved it right into my face. I immediately backed away. She asked "are you sure you don't want to smell it? Are you sure?" At this point, my uncle needed to use the restroom to which she pointed to a wood pile in the same area. She announced to our group "use that wood pile if you need to use the restroom". We all were pretty shocked and we all looked at each other like is this lady joking? Nope, not joking. The chocolate tasting was all from chocolate not from this farm. All from other places, other states even. And the teeniest, tiniest portions. Please don't waste your time and money. There's much better places to spend so much money for a far better experience! read more

We had such a wonderful day on this tour with our guide, Anne! We were a group of four that showed up not knowing what to expect and the day was full of a lot of fun, laughter, and education! We came in not knowing much about the history of chocolate, but left feeling very well-versed. From learning about the different plants on the farm and the history all the way to learning about chocolates around Maui and the world - even to making our own Mexican hot chocolate drink from cacao nibs - we had a blast! I decided this would be a great birthday pressie for the hubby as he loves coffee, and chocolate, and farms. Plus only a short time previously I attended a chocolate tasting tour on the mainland and loved finding out about the process of bean to bar. Going onto the farm you take it one step further and go from blossom to bar. It was easy to book online. I also spoke to Ann over the phone and she was very friendly and helpful with a lot of character so we had a laugh as we talked. We received an email with all the info required to get us there on time, in the right place, with ideas for food in the area, so we decided to stop at La Provence French bakery for an amazing pastry on the way so we could use their restrooms (there is only a porta potty at the farm, I did end up using it and it was the cleanest porta potty I've been in). It was a beautiful view as we drove down to the farm, and parked inside on the grass with the other visitors, waiting at the gazebo to for Ann. She arrived on a golf cart delivering an elderly man to his car, proving you can do this tour if you find walking difficult or are disabled in any way, which is great - I love anything that is inclusive. The tour is rustic and organic, and extremely interesting, as is Ann, who has a wealth of knowledge about coffee, chocolate, vanilla, wine, cheese: you name it she knows it! We tasted 6 chocolates and all were delicious, and it was interesting noting the different flavours, and finding out which were the group favourites. We also tasted a spiced chocolate drink (which we made), and a french press of the farm's coffee, along with mini lilikoi (passion fruit) cakes. Everything was absolutely delish! Ann was a consummate hostess, and made sure she included everyone in the demonstrations, and kept the group vibe going. She also went the extra mile by sourcing a special tasting cup for my hubby to celebrate his birthday, which was a lovely personal touch. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who thirsts for knowledge about Maui's home grown organic coffee and chocolate, loves wandering around organic farms (they have amazing veggie gardens too, plus Horace the Horse to say hi to), and is wanting a different experience in Maui. read more

Had a lovely afternoon on this farm learning about their sustainable farming practices, the various trees and plants in the area, growing vanilla, and of course growing cacao and coffee. It was very informative and I learnt a lot. It is a working farm and some things may not be "available" or "ready" to be seen but Ann was ready with videos to fill in the gaps. She was so incredibly informative about everything that the farm was doing from a cultivating and sustanable standpoint, which was very interesting, but most of all, she was incredible personable and a joy to spend several hours with! This tour is a MUST! Ann was so amazing about the history of the farm and her personal experience with making chocolate and how the coffee is made makes the tour so unique. We had a private tour of 4 and were able to take some some amazing coffee, and ancient hot chocolate mix. She was so friendly and personable, knew everyone's name when we arrived! The location itself has amazing views and is a good distance away from the main streets, allowing one to enjoy the sounds of nature. Due to COVID restrictions, they have adjusted their tours so they are private party tours. However, we felt that this allowed for a more intimate and tailored feel. Our tour guide, Ann, was an amazing host. She had such passion when talking about the agricultural history of the island and the history of the farm. Ann was so insightful and knowledgeable in regards to the agriculture on the farm, not just pertaining to the cacao and coffee cherries. She was very accommodating and kept our health and safety as her top priority. In regards to the tasting, we thourghouly enjoyed the ability of tasting the chocolate in every step of the process. We visited Maui last week for a wedding. We had booked the coffee and chocolate tour months in advance. We where excited to go. We went in a group of 12. first off this tour is not ADA compliant. we went with a large group of 12 family members. Five of these family members were seniors, 3 of the 5 walked with canes. The tour guide name was Anne. she was high on marijuana smell of marijuana. her speech was all over the place and had a little to do with coffee or chocolate. None of the coffee we tasted on this tout came from this farm. The farm is in a state of disrepair. We were told that they would make accommodations for our handicap and seniors in our group. That did not happen in fact frequently, and would walk around in a confused fashion, the wrong direction up a couple of hills, didn't realize we were going the wrong way and have to come back down. At one point there was a very large hill going up to a shed at the top. I was having an enormous problem walking. I finally asked her why we could not drive our cars up there?? She seemed confused by the question and said, of course we could have??? I asked her at the beginning to please try to limit walking ? this tour had little to do with chocolate or coffee. Frequently, and would ramble on about the owners telling us their backstory's showing us foliage that was not coffee nor chocolate. then she would forget what she was talking about and start all over. One poorly maintained restroom on the lower level. No restroom on the upper level where most of the tour is at. After she gave the talk and allowed us to taste chocolate and coffee from other regions, including Mexico, and other parts of the world none local. We asked to use the restroom and she pointed us to a wood pile off behind the shed. it was very unprofessional and distasteful. And from the smell of the wood pile, many people had urinated there. It was gross. it smelled of urine. ( approximately 4 feet off the back of the shed) we asked for a refund and was told no !! save your money, go anywhere else. These people should not be in business. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect but I knew I liked chocolate coffee so booked the tour for the family. You meet at their store/offices (and they have their own parking which was a relief since the streets were packed with cars) I must've missed it but you take a little shuttle over to the farm. Our guide was knowledgeable. For the actual tasting you are taken to what looks like a huge treehouse structure. They have pub tables/chairs to sit at. They offer you water and then chocolates one at a time. Talk about what's in it, etc. Afterwards they drop you back off at the store and give you one mug as a take home to the group, so having 6 we received the same amount of mugs as the couple on the same tour as us, We did inquire about more mugs but our guide told us, sorry that's the policy. I don't think they do this to keep prices down as the chocolates were sold in prepackaged boxes and hardly what you would call reasonable. It's best that either everyone receive one, only 1 per group which is handed out or no one gets them. read more
