    Fresh salad rolls. So good!
    Jerry P.

What a fantastic place! I was in the mood for a good bowl of Pho. Wow did I ever find it. I would say of all the places in Portland I would say that this is my favorite. It was delicious. I also had the fresh salad rolls and were also very good. The peanut sauce was incredible. I will be bringing family and friends along with me next time.

Delicious food, great drinks, and wonderful service. DZO has recently opened and is definitely worth a visit to try their solid offerings of Vietnamese classics. I would highly recommend giving them a try! I was able to reserve a table for our large group easily. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and was given recommendations and suggestions. The menu is fairly simple and easy to navigate; however, adding pictures of the items could be helpful for those unfamiliar about Vietnamese dishes or to gauge portion sizes. Food was brought out at a timely manner and served at a nice temperature. The owners were very friendly and homey. Tracey was also sweet and super helpful! We ordered: garlic truffle fries, tater tots, crab rangoons, egg rolls, salad rolls with shrimp and pork, salad rolls with lemongrass pork, fried rice cakes, garlic fish sauce chicken wings, salt and pepper squid, shaking beef, shrimp & garlic fried rice, and a variety of cocktails. Everything we ordered was delicious! Our favorites were the garlic fish sauce chicken wings - crispy and packed with great garlic flavor, the shaking beef - super tender and flavorful, and the lychee lime fizz - bubbly, sweet, and refreshing!

Lychee! Forgot the actual name, but I couldn't help myself!

Dzo should be on your list of Vietnamese eats to try in Portland. Located on Glisan and 79th in the Montavilla neighborhood, this restaurant offers some of my favorite Vietnamese classics. We ordered the Pho Bo (beef pho), Bo Luc Lac (Shaking Beef), Cha Gio (eggrolls), and the Fish Sauce Wings. The Pho Bo is a huge serving - xe lua IYKYK ;) It comes with all of the fixings on the side, brisket, beef, and Bo Vien (meatballs). It came out piping hot and the broth was very flavorful and not overly salty. The Bo Luc Lac was very tender. Also a large serving with lots of flavor and served over a bed of onion and jalapeños with a bowl of rice. The Cha Gio was our least favorite. The nuoc mam was more like a sweet and sour sauce and lacked the meat filled bite that Vietnamese egg rolls are known for. The fish sauce wings are a must order. Nice and crispy, bursting with fish sauce and lemongrass garlicky flavor goodness! We also ordered drinks. The lychee lime fizz was great! It reminded me of a gin spritz with a twist of lychee flavor. We asked for not too sweet and it was perfect. Their spirits are very generously priced. We had a great time and already planned out the dishes we are going to get next visit. Dzo is a wonderful addition to Portland's Eastside and we can't wait to be back.

Shaking beef minus the huge portion of rice. Not much left in the container and no sauce. Not a $19 dish.

I was doing laundry across the street and was excited to find a new place. I look through the menu and read reviews. I decided to try the shaking beef as it had 4 5star reviews. I had asked for rice on the side, as I don't eat it and the husband does. Sadly the rice was in the container soaking up all my broth. Oh well, that is a normal miscommunication and I'm ok with it. When carrying it in I noticed it felt very light...so yes...I went and got my scale. Pics are attached on the scale. The long and short if it, is that it's ALL rive.. half a lbs if rice. Very very little anything else. Meat is medium texture, not soft, not hard. Veg is fine. It is 3 star flavor, and 1 star portion. Considering this was $19 I am very very dissatisfied and will not be going back.

Welcome to yo!! Spelled d z o, and it means cheers in vietnamese!! This place was awesome. We were looking for a spot to watch the duck game plus have a drink and eat some great food. Ding ding ding we hit the jack pot. Located on glisan right down the street from east glisan pizza lounge, this place checks all the boxes. Happy hour drinks from 3-6, coupled with well executed vietnamese food, we were not disappointed. We started our meal with some super stuffed Crab rangoons coupled with some cocktails (side note the lychee lime fizz was awesome) and then we followed those up with some of the thiccest t h i c c salt and pepper shrimp and fish sauce wings. Last on the list we finished with a grilled lemon grass pork noodle bowl. We took some pho home to go which we had later that evening and it was fantastic. Dont sleep on this spot, especially on the weekends. They have a bunch of tvs to watch the game coupled with great priced drinks and awesome food!! Cheers!!

we came back to dzo for a quick bite and drink. me and my boyfriend wanted to bring our friends here because they have such unique and delicious cocktails. we recommended them the thai bailey and the lychee lime fizz and they really enjoyed our recommendations. we all also shared the garlic truffle fries. the texture of these were to die for! super crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. dzo is such a good spot to drink and enjoy good foods!

Fried rice cake, shaking beef and beef noddle soup! So tasty, and flavorful! Must try!

Cute new vietnamese bar. Great food and service. Very clean and modern. I booked the bar and had them cater for a private birthday party for my dad. There was a good option of food, drinks, and even karaoke! Highly recommend anyone to stop by for food and drinks. My personal favorite is the lychee cocktail!

The restaurant is very open with big windows, but I liked the concept of the open kitchen look. The service was really good. The staff are friendly and the store is extremely aesthetic, the interior has this spin on modern Vietnamese style of decorations. Great interiors that's won't disappoint your date. I absolutely recommend coming here for their niche Vietnamese food!

I ordered through DoorDash and went with the Vegan Pho and salad rolls. On the positive side, they were generous with the tofu, which is more than I can say for a lot of restaurants. Unfortunately, both dishes seemed to have the same secret ingredient: salt. And then a little more salt. The pho broth was already pretty salty when it arrived, but somehow managed to become even saltier overnight. By breakfast the next morning, I was pretty sure it could have been used to preserve historical artifacts. The salad rolls were packed with tofu, which I appreciated, but whatever marinade was used had enough sodium that my old horse Mika probably would've mistaken it for a salt lick. To be fair, my Pescatarian mom and Omni husband both enjoyed their shrimp rolls, so not everything was a miss. Overall, the food was edible and filling, but the heavy hand with the salt kept me from fully enjoying it.

Steamed broccoli was a fresh addition, and the side broth hit the spot. * The Pork Chops with Shredded Pork Skin (Bì) & Egg Meatloaf (Chả Trứng) plate was decent, though a bit average compared to other spots nearby. The flavors were fine, but nothing particularly stood out. * Noodle Soup: The spicy beef noodle soup had a rich, deep color and a generous amount of fresh herbs and onions, though the broth lacked a bit of the punch and depth of flavor I was hoping for.
