Deliz is now one of my suggested steakhouses! In my visit everything exceeded my expectations and set the bar high for future dining experiences! I came here on a random Thursday for a solo date and was not prepared to be blown away! To start the service was extremely attentive from the start to the end of my dining experience. The server ensured my glasses were never empty, plates were cleared after I was finished, and checked in frequently to ensure I was doing okay! The service is what took this experience from an above average restaurant to an excellent one and I am so very grateful for that. This restaurant is truly stunning. Went here last night to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time. Actually typing this as I eat my left overs. Upon arrival, we checked in for our reservation and were seated immediately. The restaurant is gorgeous, would be a great spot to try out their patio. Every staff we interacted with was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Okay on to the good stuff! Get the brioche bread, you won't regret it, it was a flaky, buttery, lightly salted perfection. 10/10 Buffalo gnocchi - 10/10 absolutely perfect texture, melts in your mouth! I will be coming back and I know I'm getting this every time Chicken parm for 2, is really for 4 (the leftovers I had this morning proved that) but it was sooooo good! The sauce it comes with is like a hot honey, adds so much to the flavor profile. I was very pleased! For drinks, we went with an old fashioned, which was an entire experience, the smoke really brought out the different notes in the drink. (make sure the waiter allows you to take a sip with the smoke, the second person opened it very quickly without to comment and you can tell the difference) We also got à la deliz vida, which was really great, the shaved ice, the texture of the glass. Everything about this place was 10/10. The food, ambiance and service was so amazing. Our server was extremely attentive and even provided great recommendations for things to go in the city. Located in the former Etta space on N Avenue, this is a beautifully designed restaurant, ideal for date night but certainly for groups as well. I was celebrating a birthday as originally listed in our reservation, and I also let our server know. We started with some cocktails (one with Mezcal and the other with bourbon and smoked, no not a smoky old fashion :)). We got the pan brioche , the crudo and the buffalo gnocchi. The brioche met the hype test and went great with the sauce poured table side in our crudo. The buffalo gnocchi was not a buffalo sauce like in your wings but closer to a vodka sauce but almost better. What was disappointing and hence I am knocking a star off was the fact that our server didn't acknowledge the birthday girl at our table and although, she got a piece of cake with a sparkler to the table next to ours, she didn't extend the same graciousness and generosity to us, even though she was aware of the birthday. The only difference was the other table ordered desert and got the freebie while we didn't order desert since we were pretty full. Oh well...life happens! Dined here for a birthday celebration and feeling mixed thoughts. Starting with the good points. The steak was presented beautifully and was cooked to our liking and was super buttery and tender. The bread was also amazing probably my favorite thing. The other dishes we ordered were also nice and well seasoned but weren't really stand outs and one dish came out a little cold. The drawbacks. If you want an intimate dinner this might not be the place. It seemed to be more of a group dining situation lots of groups around us so the volume of the restaurant was very high and the music didn't help me and my partner could barely hear each other. Was obviously very busy so I understand, but our server rarely checked in on us throughout the (almost 2 hour) dinner and it took almost 30 minutes for us to place food orders. Deliz is a great addition to Bucktown. I heard about it after they did a collab with Pizzamici, so I figured I'd have to give it a try. We will definitely be back, but we will order a little differently next time. The brioche is a must! Maybe get 2 if you have a large party. 10/10 a pillow of garlicky, buttery heaven. Yellowtail crudo was fresh with the basil and jalapeño making it a good summery dish. 8/10 Steak was just okay. Probably wouldn't order the Delmonico Ribeye again because it was overcooked and nothing special on the flavor. Not worth the high price. Bolognese was phenomenal 9/10. Homemade pastas and you can taste the difference. I'd love to try the Cacio e Pepe next. Dessert options sounded great but we were too full and tired. Great spot for large groups or a dinner date. I really just ordered this for the vibes cause I'm not super into caviar like that. Very cute and tasty. Comes with 2 bites. Wood fired Oysters: Comes with 6 oysters. I love cooked oysters over raw any day! Very delicious if this is up your alley. Ribeye: This steak was cooked to PERFECTION. We asked for medium. You get a butter sauce on the side but we also added the salsa verde which is basically chimichurri. It was seasoned so well and one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Buffalo ricotta gnocchi: Seems like a popular pasta dish. Pretty delicious and very saucy. The sauce kind of tasted like an elevated Chef Boyardee - but in a very good way. For dessert, they gave my husband a free birthday dessert with a sparkler which was so cute! It was like a mini vanilla cake with strawberries and ice cream. Wow Such a gorgeous restaurant right when you walk in. The ambience is sexy yet cozy (if that makes sense) I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. The first time here we didn't have a reservation so we got there at 5pm when they opened and sat at the bar. We definitely indulged in more drinks than food sitting there but it was totally worth it. Matty took care of us at the bar and he was great. The cocktails were delicious and the food was incredible. I'm usually a raw oysters person but we got the wood fired and they were amazing. We got the meatballs and they were some of the best I've ever had. On our first visit, it was during restaurant week and I got the steak frites and my bf got the Kansas City strip. The chef came out and said there was an issue with the temperature of the steak. He apologized and gave us a ricotta gnocchi on the house. All the food was great. Our second visit we made reservations and were sat upstairs. The enclosed patio area wasn't as cozy as the rest of the second floor. Our server (Scott?) was friendly and asked if we were celebrating anything special. We came for an anniversary dinner and Michael came by to give us some shots of tequila. We did have a reservation for 3 originally and I called to move it to 4 and they said no, and then we were seated at a 4 person table. That was a little bit frustrating. Their service here is so insanely quick. We did get two of our apps before drinks arrived. We were in and out of here in an hour. The brioche is so delicious and buttery, a very good starter! We got the wedge salad and this may have been my favorite dish of the night. Soooo flavorful, the dressing was perfect and the bacon was thick. We got the frites medium rare I loved this. It came with Parmesan fries and this was amazing. I would get this again if I come back! Our waiter recommended the buffalo gnocchi and I'm so glad he did! We came here on a Tuesday to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant has been open less than 2 months but was surprisingly busy considering it was cold and in the middle of the week. The decor is beautiful, service was fantastic and vibe is trendy (a bit loud for me but probably perfect for a younger crowd). We ordered a two different cocktails to start and they were pretty but personally I didn't really care for either. For food we got the oysters and split the delmonico ribeye with cheesy mash potatoes. The oysters were fine but I'd probably order something else next time. The steak was cooked perfectly, delmonicos are thinner than I care for, but it was delicious so we didn't mind. The potatoes were also fantastic, a bit too cheesy for me but my husband thought they were perfect. The prices are pretty high for the neighborhood but we still plan to come back. read more

I must say I was super disappointed when Etta closed because it's one of our neighborhood staples but the Deliz does not disappoint! It kept similar sultry vibes with almost a speakeasy kind of feeling. The menu is a bit more upscale, and therefore a little more expensive but everything we tried was delicious. We took advantage of restaurant week and added the seafood elevation this time. Deliz is a very nice steakhouse! I went for Mother's Day, and my mom really enjoyed the food! The ambiance was beautiful. It is decorated beautifully. There is ample seating because there is an upstairs portion as well. There are two separate bars that are fully stocked as well. The service was good, and they are very attentive to the patrons. When you go, you have to get the pan brioche. It is the perfect bread to start with. It is buttery, flaky, and light. I definitely recommend getting it. The wedge salad was good, but I think you could skip it. The truffle cacio e pepe is delicious and worth ordering in my opinion. For my entre, I got the special they had which was a surf and turf. It was DELICIOUS! The steak was cooked perfectly and so was the lobster, which is hard to do in my opinion. I definitely recommend coming here and trying it out. read more

Ryan walked us through the menu and the way in which it would be served. If you give deliz a chance ask for Ryan he's a great server. At ease and helpful throughout. We started with shredded Brussels sprouts. Great citrus blend that was a perfect beginning along with the buttery croissants! By themselves worth the trip. Two glasses of Cabernet and we were off! We ordered two pastas, cacccio di peppe and buffalino gnocchi. The pasta was light and tender (cacccio slightly heavier but amazing taste!) we also ordered an 8oz filet cooked perfectly! Just enough char but tender to the taste with a little smoke! Great! We also chose truffled asparagus, crème potato. This is one of the finest dinners my wife and I have had in years! We finished with pistachio cheesecake and coffee to finish. With a final classy touch Deliz and Ryan brought out a sparkling lemon cake with a side of vanilla gelato and a chocolate branded piece wishing us a happy anniversary. Great touch! The best meal I've ever had, and yes, the most expensive, but absolutely worth it. I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday planning to go all in on wagyu, specifically the tomahawk. Our server guided us toward the Mayura Station Chocolate Fed Wagyu NY Strip instead, and it ended up being the highlight of the night. It was incredibly rich and flavorful, easily the best steak I've ever had. No sauces needed, it completely stands on its own and every bite bursts with flavor. The wood-fired oysters are a must and surprisingly well priced. We also tried the chopped wedge, which was solid with a standout gorgonzola, though Trivoli's still wins for me (bacon, iykyk). For mains, we paired the wagyu with the fontina whipped potato purée and buffalo ricotta gnocchi. The steak and potatoes stole the show. The gnocchi was delicate and delicious, but hard to compete with how exceptional everything else was..though the texture was so melt in your mouth. Dessert was a fun touch. The menu looked great and I would go for the cannoli tower with a group, but the complimentary birthday dessert with a sparkler, warm cake, ice cream, and strawberries felt just right. The fries were tasty, as was the steak but nothing to compare other steakhouses to. The bolognese was excellent and also very filling as it was meaty and a big portion. My pistachio cheesecake was unique - didn't feel like a cheesecake but more of a normal cake. Nothing special - would want to try the tiramisu next time as that seemed to be the social media favorite. Our service overall seemed a bit rushed and transactional.
