Buyers beware! If I could give them a zero I would. First, Laura, the grill expert, lied to me three times and sold me a grill off the floor after promising a brand new one. The floor model had damage. Second, apparently Robert can not put a grill together properly because turing the grill on, it immediately gave me a warning that the pellet sensor was not connected resulting in another hour of my time to take the grill back apart and fix it. Finally, after speaking with Anthony, the supposed manager of this incredibly sloppy and poorly run location, he told me that what ever problems I had (which all emanated from his employees, the responsibility of his store) needed to be resolved with Traeger's customer service 800 support line. These guys are crooks and untrustworthy. Buy your grill and equipment elsewhere. Anthony's business ethics center on deception and cheating customers. read more

My mom and I went into ACE looking for a staple gun. We were nicely greeted by Anthony (Tony) the GM who took a lot of time to help us out. We had to come back the next day to return the staple gun and get another one. He remembered us and again, helped us out. He was very helpful, kind and polite. I went in for cleaner the other day, not only did Barb at the register call me a "lady" twice the other 2 young employees Don and whatever the other one was snickered behind her at the situation. The 2 young employees also argued in front of me on who was gonna check me out; Don checked me out and didn't even offer me a bag when I bought 3 medium size items. I have been ridiculed my whole life for being more feminine than the average male. I don't even look like a woman- I was wearing a Superman shirt, I have short short hair and you can see my hairy arms and legs. My voice may be higher than others but come on, it's the end of 2019- let's get with the times and stop being so hateful! The only one who justified the situation was the key holder there named Sean. He was more than helpful and got me everything I needed. Sean you were great, I'm sorry but I won't be coming back in fearful of running into the other 3. I wish you all the luck Sean in your future but for my self esteem I better just stick with another location for Ace Hardware. read more

I walked in and ordered grass seed. Clerk took my name & phone # told me to call inn in ten days. I called in 2 weeks and was told the order wasn't in yet. I called the next Saturday morning and was told that my order was in. Get to the store and am told that they "Can't get that kind of seed in this district." WTF! I asked the (I assume) Manager to check by name or phone # to see if an order was placed. He says "We don't track orders that way." WTF! I dropped off an edger and mower that needed repairs today. The staff member that helped me actually rolled his eyes and huffed when I told him what I needed. He then told me if I wanted work done it would be a 2 1/2 week wait , that is totally fine and acceptable but I got the feeling he then expected me to decline the service. This is one of the best Hardware store around. They have a great selection of products in stock and tons of items available to order.

I like the store and many times it's got the small odd parts I need. The problem is the cashier staff and checking out. They are horribly slow. Many times there is 5 or 6 people waiting in line and only 1 cashier. And the cashier is slow. So you end up waiting forever in line and no one comes up to open the second register. And when someone does come up, There's no one left in line so it's pointless. Many times the staff cares more about restocking the shelves than helping people or checking people out. read more

Very dissatisfied with manager at Westlake location: he was loud when berating an employee for not doing something even though the employee told him he had to finish up with a customer before doing what the manager asked. Then there continued to be a loud exchange between the two, with more than 6 customers in the store. Not the proper way to reprimand and/or interact with an employee in such a public manner. Next, I was there to return 1 light bulb out of a three pack I had purchased because the one bulb just came apart when I lifted out of the package (the other two were fine). My intent was to buy another 3 pack, take two out of the new pack to put in with the broken one so the package with the broken one could then be "returned". The cashier paged the manager for assistance. When he didn't respond in a timely fashion, she paged him again (other customers were lined up behind me). He came to front while yelling: "I told you I'd be right there.", which neither I nor the cashier heard. Once again, a very loud, almost belligerent response to an employee. He did say "I'm sorry" after the cashier told him she didn't hear his initial reply. He immediately told me I had to go home, get the other two bulbs before he could "return" the package. I suggested that we just get a 3 pack that I would buy, put 2 of the bulbs in with the broken one, and "return" the package with the broken one. His response: "In a perfect world, that would be the thing to do, but it will mess up my inventory." When I questioned why, he had no explanation other than he couldn't do it that way. He said he would have to throw away the good bulbs, not return them to the supplier, as I suggested as damaged merchandise. When I offered that that would be a waste of money to just throw 2 good bulbs away without getting credit for them didn't make sense, he said: "well restaurants throw away perfectly good food all the time." I responded that food is a whole different issue and not the same as what we were talking about. He kept saying that "In a perfect world ...". Finally, with the other customers waiting and listening, he said "Fine I'll just give you one." Again, I told him that it was costing the store money unnecessarily to do it that way and compromise a full pack of perfectly good bulbs. Anyway, I took the one bulb and left and, as I went to the door, I could hear the manager repeating over and over: "in a perfect world ...", I think for the benefit of the other customers. As I walked out, another customer walked out with me and said I should have just purchased the new three pack, gone to my car and taken two bulbs out of it to put in with the broken one and then go back into the store to return the "bad" package. All I expect from such a transaction is to be "made whole." There was no need for the condescension on the part of the manager who is not astute enough to understand my initial approach would have satisfied both of us. Also, having worked in multiple customer-facing positions, I know how to treat employees and when not to berate them in public. I will not return to this store again. read more

managers and employees like to talk about customers in front of other customers, including making fun of a customers accent after they are done talking to them on the phone. every time i go in here the employees are either talking about past customers in a negative way, or the manager is apprehending employees in front of customers. it's ran by teenagers who don't know anything so good luck looking for something specific. get new management seriously it's crazy how every time i'm in there the manager is yelling at employees or shouting for them from across the store like an animal. read more
