My care plan is not only 100% tailored to me, but Deanna also personalizes every session based on how I'm feeling both physically/mentally that day, integrating mental/physical well-being in her practice. She takes the time to listen/understand how my condition impacts my life, finds ways for me to integrate my home care routine more easily/efficiently into my lifestyle, explains how each exercise/stretch works, and creates new ones on the spot to help save me time by combining several into one. Deanna truly goes above/beyond by taking the time to help me better understand my condition anatomically, how it affects me physically, and took things a step further by helping me understand my MRI/x-ray impressions ordered by the pain docs but never explained to me in a way I could understand by them. The problem I have with this particular business is not the business itself, it instead the…read morebuilding it's located in. This is a case of style over substance. A physical therapy business should never be located in a building that can actually cause harm to individuals with handicaps, just by accessing it. What made it worse is that they did not provide any automatic door openers for anyone that's in a wheelchair. Another major negative strike against them. In order to get into the Select Physical Therapy suite you have to go through two extremely heavy doors. The business is located in a gorgeous Spanish-style hacienda-type building. But the doors feel like they have lead in them. I am coming for physical therapy because I have a very delicate neck and back. I hurt myself getting into the building before they even laid hands on me. They may be the best physical therapists in the world, but if I can't even get into the building without hurting myself, what good are they? Also, if you want to use the restroom inside the clinic, you have to go through two more sets of heavy doors. And then when you leave the restroom, you have to access these same two heavy doors yet again to get back into the clinic. And in order to leave the building, there's still the two original sets of heavy doors. So walking into this building, using the restroom, and leaving the clinic, I had to open these heavy doors a total of 8 times. When I left Select Physical Therapy in RB that day, I felt worse leaving than I did arriving. I had the most intense migraine, neck pain, and rib head pain because the doors caused my neck and rib heads to become misaligned. It's so ridiculous! Hopefully management will read this and show some wisdom by getting the heck out of that building into a more appropriate one. I went with a whole different PT company altogether because I can never trust a company that is so short-sighted.

To start, he was the one that pushed for me to get a MRI, which showed how bad my injury actually was. Secondly, he worked through my recovery process endlessly finding different approaches to the many issues we encountered. She immediately was able to figure out that the pain was coming from my SI joint area and gave me exercises to help stabilize that area. During our appointments she was able to use massage and stretching techniques to help the pain as well as teach me to practice techniques on my own. That is, until I discovered Debbie Cohen. I'll try to summarize. For many years I've suffered from chronic lower back & "pelvis related" pain. Specifically, the very worse pain would manifest in my rectum, tailbone and buttocks region. This pain was chronic and often unbearable. Regrettably, it had a VERY NEGATIVE impact upon my life. Over the years, I seen numerous Physical Therapists, Urologists, Neurologists, Orthopedics, and Chiropractors, etc. During the process, I endured many different forms of treatment, to include, a wide variety of medications (to include high doses of morphine, etc), Biofeedback, Acupuncture, Bladder Installations, and MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more. I was given many possible diagnoses, to include: Interstitial Cystitis (IC), Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndromes (CPPS), and so forth. Regrettably, despite all the diagnoses and treatments, I continued to suffer. My desperation fueled continued investigation and research until I discovered Debbie Cohen at Fundamental Physical Therapy & Pelvic Wellness. Initially, I was a very skeptical about seeing another Physical Therapist. After all, over the years, I've seen many different Physical Therapists without any real relief. Many Therapists claim that their treatment can include Pelvis related issues. However, I quickly learned that not all Therapists are equal. I did suspect that my pain was somehow related to the Pelvis and I knew that was Debbie's specialty. Thus, I elected to see Debbie for treatment. Bottom Line: Debbie Cohen was a life saver. Her treatment has relieved me of the chronic pain that I suffered for MANY years. It's almost like a miracle to me. Sometimes, I simply can't believe this has actually happened!  Simply put, she is a true professional in every regard. Unlike some Therapists, your never handed off to a helper. Rather, she provides her undivided and focused attention (one on one) to solve the source of the problem. She's a great communicator that takes your problem very seriously. In fact, her personal services far exceed the hourly treatment sessions provided. Debbie has my absolute highest recommendation.
