Have been going here for years, and have had over 30 sessions here. Today had an appointment at 9:15 and was 12 min late and was told I couldn't see the PT today. Now I can see if I was massively late or have done this before that I couldn't be seen, but you have numerous physical therapist in that facility and you couldn't help me seems ridiculous. I was in traffic and driving trying to find their number to call saying I was gonna be late but I guess it wouldn't matter anyways. I have seen people come in there 10 late and got to see a physical therapist. For me that is the end of me coming to this place I recommend not going. Very disappointed. read more

The therapists were excellent; however, the billing experience was unacceptable. Terry at the billing center, who claims to be a manager, was the unprofessional and disrespectful. I attended Scripps Ranch Physical Therapy for over a year before and after a hip replacement. During that entire time, I was never once asked to make a payment in the office nor did I receive any billing statements. I assumed my therapy was covered through insurance. Five months after my final appointment, I suddenly received two invoices marked "Final Notice." When I called to question these invoices, Terry stated that their records showed the bills had been mailed. I explained that these were the first invoices I had ever received and that it was unreasonable to send "Final Notice" bills without any prior communication--especially after more than a year of regular visits. Her response, after a long pause, was simply, "Are you going to pay?" I requested to speak with a manager and was told, "You are." When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told, "That is not going to happen." This level of rudeness and lack of accountability reflects extremely poor customer service. I feel sorry for the therapists who work here, as they do not deserve to be associated with such managers who treat their patience's with such disrespect. I can't imagine how the management treats their employees. I will not return to this practice and will not recommend it to anyone. read more

I had complete shoulder reconstruction surgery, that required extensive rehab for 9 months. Their staff was helpful from the outset. I initially went in pre-surgery and continued post surgery. I always look forward to my visits/appointments, in order to get better/stronger, but also because you build relationships with their people, who, universally, are always upbeat and helpful. My particular PT was with Taylor and she has been excellent throughout my rehabilitation. Everyone from the receptionist, to billing, to PT, and all the support staff, are in tune with the patient's protocol/needs. Dr. Stephanie was a very helpful PT in getting my knee better after some pain I'd been having. She taught me exercises I've been able to continue at home and now, months later, I am definitely feeling better. One interesting thing about the office is that during your appointment they will have you meet with your primary PT at first and then someone else/various other PTs or PTs-in-training will help you or guide you through exercises. It felt a little weird at first but they're all good at remembering patients' names and situations, so they have a good system. read more

After my ACL reconstruction surgery, I took my physical therapy sessions at Scripps. The surgery and the recovery process was very overwhelming but everyone here was very accommodative and helpful. I am thankful to my therapist Toni, who was very knowledgeable and great at his work. He clarified all my doubts very patiently and backed them with supporting medical theories that helped me feel confident and safe about my recovery. Highly recommend SRPT! The team here is composed of friendly, knowledgeable and patient physical therapists and assistants who work diligently on getting their clientele back on track to normal function. The system in place here is fantastic in that each session lasts 60-90 minutes. The patient is overseen by your main therapist ( we worked with Susie) then working with several therapists/ technicians who utilize different techniques in a timely manner (e.g. muscle stimulation, heat or cold therapy, massage and simple but effective exercise.) Each session lasts about 10-15 minutes each. Then the next therapist comes in. I must mention the great Susie S. She is a veteran and perhaps one of the finest and most knowledgeable physical therapists around. Exceptionally friendly and outgoing, always sharing her knowledge. Strongly recommend this practice. read more

TL;DR: Great physical therapy and care. Take a close look at your bill. I have shoulder impingement. First diagnosed by PCP at UCSD, who referred me to a UCSD PT, who basically gave me a piece of paper with the upper body stretches you learned in 5th grade PE. After a visit to a UCSD specialist when the problem got worse, I asked for a referral to Scripps Ranch Physical Therapy. I had great clinical care here and was provided excellent advice on take-home exercises. Shoulder pain and mobility improved very quickly. However, six months after concluding care, I got a second bill for $600, which somehow indicated my balance for the visits was greater than the charges for the visits despite having made a previous payment and having decent insurance. No insurance adjustment was indicated. Just pure nonsense of a medical bill. After a couple calls, I finally got it straightened out - I think. (Waiting on a corrected bill.) I've worked in healthcare revenue cycle before, so I have a decent sense of what to expect and can understand the difference a copay, coinsurance, deductible, and out-of-pocket maximum. But, if I didn't, I may have just paid their erroneous bill. read more

I went to Scripps Ranch Physical Therapy for pelvic floor therapy after my 3rd baby. Stephanie was my therapist and she was amazing. She is knowledgable and a pleasure to work with. I felt like she really understood the underlying causes for my issues and had a treatment plan specific to me. I often had to bring my baby with me to treatment and Stephanie was able to accommodate him being there while providing care. The team at SRPT is also friendly and professional. I've been taking my mom to this facility for her PT appointments. The staff are all very friendly & helpful. They have quite a few therapists working at the same time so they are able to accommodate a lot of patients at once. We usually have no issues getting an appointment during the same week. Not sure what is happening behind the scenes. I have received medical care at Scripps Ranch Physical Therapy now going on two years. Over the past few months, the quality of service and care has declined. I have observed the clinic to be extremely hot when attending my appointments. I asked if the temperature could be changed back to normal but was declined as this is controlled by upper management. There is now a lock box over the temperature controls. I am sweating more in my exercises and dripping all over the equipment and new carpets. I am unable to cool down and my therapist must work with my body covered in sweat. As more patients flow through the clinic in such a small space, the facility does not cool down. This is a breeding ground for bacteria and illness. Another item to address is the removal of the automated text messaging service reminder for patients as this service is necessary to keep attendance for PT with a busy life schedule. I am unsure why this fantastic patient service is being removed. I request this not to be removed as I depend on this reminder for every visit. My hope of this review is to see the return of the clinic to its higher quality standard of medical services. I have an upcoming PT renewal and will look to another clinic for my medical services although I enjoy the aids and therapists. If the environment would change, I would gladly stay with my current PT and aids, they are amazing. My largest concern is if the clinic is willing to penny pinch on the quality of services provided, I am worried the quality of care will also be less. read more

I broke my arm after a fall from my horse and had to have surgery with placement of a titanium rod and lots of pins. I came to this physical therapy clinic in a lot of pain and the fear of more pain. Susie is my actual therapist who absolutely worked wonders within a pretty short time frame. Five months later, I have almost complete range of motion and am now working on strength training. My doctor is very pleased with my progress. This office is very much a team effort and everyone is helpful and knowledgeable and well trained. Even the front office staff, like Keashonna, are extremely helpful and friendly. I always leave feeling better than I did going in the door. One of the worst medical billing experiences I've ever had. They submitted the claims to my insurance three years after my visits, which of course were denied! I will never return to Scripps Ranch Physical Therapy nor any other affiliate. They all use Carlsbad Physical Therapy as their billing office so beware. My office visits were in March 2014. I didn't get the Explanation of Benefits from the insurer until December 2016, which was past the year deadline to file the claim. I asked them why they didn't file the claim in a timely manner. They told me they sent it to the wrong insurer. Not once in the three years did they try to contact me to figure out the issue. I had the same contact info. Nor apparently, did they bother to read the back of the card which has the correct address to file the claim. Meanwhile, my company was bought and we changed insurance. By the time these jokers figured out the issue, it was well past the one-year time limit to make the claim. Hence, the notice three years later that I owed over $700! In Feb 2017 when I was billed, I contacted them to at least lower the price because of their error. They refused and threatened me with collections. They refused to tell me if they removed any co-pays I paid from the bill. They were not in the line items. I even had to endure a conversation (at work) with the Billing Manager who told me it was her predecessor who caused this mess and what a nightmare it was to deal with these accounts. So this is my fault? Wait, how many others did this happen to? How come I'm hearing about this three years later for the first time? There are similar cases to mine, just scroll down this Yelp page. Look folks, this is a competitive business. There are many PT clinics to choose from in the San Diego area. Do yourself a favor and use one not affiliated with this group. I rarely review on Yelp. Unfortunately, this is a very negative one. I am not the only one who had this issue with the billing office of this clinic. Please read the other negative reviews posted for this and their Carlsbad Physical Therapy locations. I've spoken to the insurer, my HR, and numerous federal and state insurance agencies. Had I a larger bill, I would have hired a healthcare advocate or attorney. In the end, I just paid it and will file a complaint with the state licensing authority, the Physical Therapy Board of California which told me that was really my only course of action. I encourage anyone who experienced a similar issue with this group to do the same. So in the end, how was my medical care? Fine, I guess. I barely remember it. They were very incompetent at billing and insurance authorizations. I have a PPO and a secondary insurance. I got the authorization from my primary PPO approved and they still asked for the authorization from my secondary. Which both insurance companies, as well as my doctor's office were surprised that was needed because that never happens and is not necessary. Primary insurance authorization is all they need. Both my primary and secondary insurance stated that there is no need for the secondary to authorize for physical therapy. I had my doctor's office conference call their office directly to speak with the insurance girl named Brianna, who sounded like she was new at her job, kept insisting that I needed authorization from my secondary. The representative from my doctor's office was surprised at what she was saying. When I suggested that I conference call my secondary insurance to have the secondary insurance inform Brianna that authorization isn't needed from secondary. She stated that her manager doesn't feel comfortable having me as a patient at this point. This office is such a joke, they're incompetent in doing their job and more importantly have no customer service at all. No wonder why they have several bad reviews. I should have looked on Yelp before having my doctor schedule with them. Thank god I'm going else where. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING HERE AT ALL!!! STAY AWAY!! read more

First, I have to say, I received great physcial care/therapy for shoulder surgery rehab. Suzie was fantastic. Its their billing that is a complete disaester. Here's the problem... I received my post-op PT in early 2012 (again, with great results). I'm now receiving a bill, in 2014, with no explanation or reconciliation, over a year and a half later (Really!). I met my deductible early in 2012 and always paid my co-pays at each visit. As you can imagine, I've also closed-out my flexible spending account for 2012... and now have different insurance coverage. Its not the amount but the principle. I have no way of knowing if these are legit charges, and if they were/are, why didn't they bill me in 2012? Is there a statuate of limitations for medical billing??? I've asked for a compete reconcilation (line-by-line,). I also indicated that I'd like to meet with someone to review the preceived balance. At the end of the day its probably going to be counter-productive to dispute or try and go back almost 2 years to reconcile visits/charges - its just not worth my time. However, as a savvy consumer and competitive athlete, I'm not sure I trust their buisness office enough to go back should I ever need PT again. read more

I can't say enough about how much I love this place! I have been to other physical therapists before for different injuries and this is by far the best in professionalism, atmosphere and overall technique. I have only been for 2 sessions so far and I already feel a huge difference in the performance of my knee. I love how laid back and friendly the staff is and how comfortable I feel doing all the exercises prescribed by Todd. I don't feel intimidated or dumb for asking questions like I felt at other places I've been to. He never fails to explain every detail of my healing plan and he goes above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Yes, I'm always a little sore afterwards but I believe that means I am doing everything correctly and on the right path to a successful recovery. I am extremely happy with Physical Therapist Todd Sparks and all of the wonderful staff at Scripps Ranch Physical Therapy. I have been a client for 8 weeks after a major knee surgery (LCL,ACL, meniscus) and am ecstatic with my progress. My range of motion is better in my injured knee than my good knee. Todd really knows his stuff and asks questions to improve the treatment and challenge me. From Christy at front desk reception to Wendy, my hand therapist, and her support staff, I was treated with patience, flexibility, respect and kindness during the therapy for my injured wrist following surgery. Wendy is very caring, knowledgeable, and great at remembering not only all the special things we were working on from week to week, but also our personal preferences and what works; I credit her with giving me the tools to complete my treatment in a timely manner and giving me ways to keep safe from re-injury. Pain who wants it - and how to recover from it when it's 24/7 - after a recent fall I came here for relief instead of pain pill medications and met with Calvin Jung Director o Rehabiliation he listened to me thoroughly examined me and came up with a plan.... always challenging but never unaware if I was in pain. And his plan has stayed with me knowing what hip exercises I should be continuing to do at home. Unfortunately for me no MRI's were taken until after my therapy but I am working on a 2nd diagnosis and look forward to returning to get more relief. I absolutely recommend Calvin and his friendly but professional staff ( I loved Heather who really loved health and what she was giving to her clients). I had two different therapists, Erica and Stephanie, which were exceptional. The therapists are very knowledgeable and explain things in layman's terms and are very positive as well. I could barely walk, had lots of pain associated with my injury and was apprehensive about treatment. Todd put me at ease right away and earned my trust. He worked with me - through the pain - with great communication, precision and determination to get me mobile. I honestly don't know how I would have made it through those weeks without him! The therapists and aids here do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. They guide you through your recovery. It is a great place to go. I've been here working on everything from my wrist to my shoulder. They make sure to schedule you with specialists for each issue and target that problem for the full time of that schedule.
