I've used E & R Services several times in recent years to clean the gutters on my Arlington house. My experience with this business has been very positive, from the professionalism and friendliness of the person who answered my initial phone call and scheduled the appointment to the workers who actually arrived at my house on time to clean my gutters. I requested an early morning appointment so that I could be at home when they came without having to take time off, and E & R Services willingly accommodated my request. I also requested that the workers operate from ladders rather than climbing on my roof and standing on my gutters - which, by the way, is standard practice among most companies. This request was also accommodated. The workers arrived on time, worked fast, were polite and professional, spoke English, worked from ladders and didn't climb onto my roof, placed the gutter debris into a garbage bag that they hauled away and didn't leave a mess. The workers flushed the gutters and downspouts using a hose to ensure that they were not clogged, and would have taken a digital photo of the cleaned gutters to show me, had I requested that they do so (I didn't). And they did all this for only $75 (with a coupon from the E & R Services website). Mine is a typical two-story colonial with less than 80' of gutters, and the price may be higher for a larger house. I'll be calling upon E & R Services again next Spring and next Fall. read more

Power washed and cleaned the windows at my home in Woodbridge, VA but when I returned from work I found a broken table that one of the workers had stood on (as evidenced by footprints on the table) which was not reported to me until I spoke to one of the managers. Even then I was given a false explanation regarding how the table was broken. His response was to fix the table and send him the bill. Not how I would have handled it. Can't recommend based on this, regardless of the quality of their work. read more

If I could give them no stars, I would. I had them clean all my windows and screens (cost $155) and it was terrible. They came an hour early and I wasn't home. Fortunately (?) they waited. They left my windows smeared and the screens not clean. When I pointed that out, they made a half-hearted effort to clean them again, but they obviously didn't want to. They used dirty old bath towels to do the cleaning and just smeared things around. I have had my windows cleaned professionally before and it was not like this. I will return to my previous company. I live in Olney in a single family. I had E & R services come out to wash my windows and power wash my siding before the holidays. I liked the fact that I needed the job done on very short notice and they were able to fit me in with no problem. The guys showed up on time and were very professional! I have been using E&R Services since 2008 to clean gutters, power wash siding, and clean windows. They cleaned my gutters today and quoted $95 on the phone when we scheduled the appointment. When it came time for payment after the job was complete, the service man said it was $125. I told him I agreed to pay $95 and $125 was a 32% rate increase. He then wrote the invoice for $95, but added this note "this gutter should be $150." I asked why is it now $150 when you said $125? He said it should be $150, but I was giving you a $25 discount. You should be happy you've been paying $95 all of these years. That means they have increased their price 58% since last year. I had no problem paying a reasonable price increase as long as it was communicated when the job was scheduled. So very unprofessional. read more

I hired E&R Services again because they did such a great time washing my windows a couple of years ago. I asked them to clean the ledges as well and they did a super job. I am selling my house and the windows were sparkling after they cleaned them. They showed up early, worked efficiently and left no trace that they were here except for the gorgeous windows and sills. Working in my basement at 0830, I suddenly hear my outside water faucet turned on. When I go outside to inspect, an E&R Services van and some guy are in my neighbor's driveway. The man standing at the van doesn't speak or understand English and quickly runs across my yard to the far side of my house, turning the corner to my side yard to get another man (whose English is passable). He tells me they are there for "Jacobs" (my neighbor), but was given my house number (off from Jacobs' by one character). For some mysterious reason, despite the fact that the name "Jacobs" and all but one character are boldly displayed on my neighbor's mailbox, this rocket scientist thinks that one lone character is enough reason to wander my property. I call the E&R office and Hugo listens but only apologizes for this "minor misunderstanding." He did not say he was going to inform/train his workman. Didn't care when I described the situation as "creepy" and "unprofessional." Hey Hugo, not ringing my doorbell but instead skulking around my house is no "minor misunderstanding." I wonder how "minor" this would have been if I had confronted the trespassers with a weapon or called the police (taxpayers dollars wasted for Hugo's "minor misunderstanding). Since these guys (neither wearing a uniform, in fact the one that was on my property was in shorts and a tank top) left the neighborhood within a 10 minutes I wonder is E&R a real business or a business that carries out "side" jobs of evaluating property to come back later with their cargo van and ladders. read more

We used E&R services in Dec 2014 and they did a decent job on the windows. However, they for some reason, left all of our exterior porch windows unlocked. We though it was odd at the time but not after we experienced an attempted robbery several days later. We called the police and they showed us where the thieves had tried to open the same windows from the outside leaving glove marks on the exterior glass. I would not let E&R into my home or on my property again. These guys came to my house and had a ladder fall and break 2 Windows (no people hurt as no one was on the ladder). After this, they wanted to some half-wit repair which I refused. Then then came to my house when I specifically asked them not to do perform one of the half-wit repairs (can you say trespassing?). I bid out a professional window company to come and he would only reimburse me for the one repair as he said he did the second one minus the charge of the cleaning. These guys are dishonest and poor business people read more

When we signed up for the gutter cleaning services, we were told that in addition to the usual cleaning methods they would hose down through the down spouts to flush out any debris with water. Our house is fairly large and so when a crew of two showed up and departed after less than 15 minutes, it was a surprise to us. They left leaves dumped from the gutters on the back deck. We called the company to report, and they had the crew return to our house. When we asked why the hosing was not done we were told "there was nothing in the downspout" (they have x-ray devices?!) and they also had no leaf blowers to clean up the dumped debris which they said was already there on the deck, and not their doing which was not true. One of the workers was rude and appeared to be agitated. We had scheduled window cleaning but cancelled due to this poor service. read more

Yes, had them before for many years and well satisfied. This time had to have them redo cleaning some and after they left found a few more not done to our satisfaction (also left crusted spots not paint). Blamed everything on condensation. They used to spray something on them before to make them last but this time did not. Going downhill. Seemed in a hurry. read more

Your service people just left our home. They were to clean our aluminum siding which had mold and mildew on it as I told your office when I made the appointment. They say they are not able to remove mold and were unhappy because we had furniture on our side porch. No problem, we told them, we can move the furniture and plants. It was obvious from the beginning that they did not want to do the job. Meanwhile, we took time from our weekend to be here and could have had another company to do the work if we had known that they did not plan to do the work. Their excuse? The office doesn't know what they are talking about. What a waste of time! Look elsewhere and find a real company. read more

Previous window cleaning service customer. Made appointment-even got a reminder call from the lady. Waited and waited. Called and left 3 messages. Burned a full day waiting. Trio of workers finally showed up at 5pm when it was getting dark. Too dark to wash windows-not safe. They told me to call the office to re-schedule. I asked them to call when we were discussing but they said there was nobody there on the weekends. I called on Monday and the lady only had another appointment a week out. Very disappointed at the poor communication. There are a lot of companies that do this kind of work-good customer service is what keeps paying customers coming back. Read all the reviews - some not so good like this one. Will look elsewhere to spend my dollars. read more

I have used E & R Services company for gutter cleaning service. Two guys came to my house and climbed to the roof. They just let the water hose running water down from the roof, no spray inside the gutter to clean the gutter. Within 10 minutes, the gutter cleaning job is done. It is no different than to let the rain doing the job. This gutter cleaning service is a rip-off service. I don't recommend anybody use this service from this company. read more

Very shoddy quality of work, including what I found later as not cleaning some windows out of 63 windows that were included in the invoice. Even as mine was a single large job for which did not get any discount, that otherwise one would expect, there was no attempt to make it up in a quality job. eviews rate and review james b james b in the last week i called to have my windows cleaned at my house. i was given a great price to have 42 windows done. i set appointment.... appointment was verified by owner. 3 workers arrived within time frame. discussed the project with workers and what we where expecting. workers do no speak fluent english...hard to unerstand..... asked them how much more it would cost to scrap all windows of paint since we just had our house sprayed with paint and there was some over spray on most of the windows. gave us a price of how much more it would cost.. agreed to the extra charges. workers started the work... i myself was not home at the time...i was at work... my mother was there. when i arrived home and started to pull up the windows appeared clean.. i looked at all windows and every window had streaks and the paint was not scraped. i received a flyer with the owners info on it that said if your not happy to give him a call before i would leave a review. i understand this as i myself am a business owner and always want my clients to call me direct so i can make them satisfied no matter the situation or cost. call the owner direct...no answer...i left a message. it's bean three days and still no response from the owner. this is not profesional practice. read more
