New Sunrise Roofing ("Sunrise") delivered again for a returned customer. The strong wind last week got several shingles on the roof loosen. I called Sunrise in a Saturday afternoon after their business hour. Sunrise surprisingly picked up the phone and scheduled a visit the next Monday morning. Only a few of its competitors responded the same day and only a couple offered to come by Monday. On Monday, while the competitors still replied to my request and asked me to call them for more details, Sunrise arrived on time. The two guys checked the roof from below and gave me a quote. The quote was "outrageously" reasonable so I decided to hire Sunrise again immediately. The guys spent their times on the roof to nail down not only the loosen shingles, but checked around and glued others. They also took down a antenna that was not in use and patched the area. Without me asking, the guys even resealed the venting pipe. I feel like Sunrise cares more about the customer's roof than the customer's money. They make sure everything is fine on the roof, not just the parts at issue, but everything, and they don't go back and forth about money with the customer. They definitely stand behind their job. This is the second time I hired and was satisfied with Sunrise. I hope I don't need them for a third time, but will definitely call them if I have to. read more

CAUSED DAMAGE AND DID NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. We hired New Sunrise Roofing to replace our roof 2 years ago because they offered the best price. During the roof replacement, something was dropped and busted a huge hole in our bedroom ceiling. Thankfully I was downstairs at the time. I was in my comfortable clothes, so was unable (and too nervous) to go upstairs in the bedroom to change. I was also unable to leave the house the entire day because workers then needed to come in and out of the house to repair the bedroom ceiling. Their ceiling patch job was horrible and left a big noticeable area that immediately started peeling. I understand that mistakes happen, so gave them the opportunity to "make it right," but unfortunately the manager offered us only $200 for the inconvenience. After much back and forth, I negotiated a significantly larger discount. Fast forward to a couple of years later...we needed to get an inspection before changing our house over to a rental property. The inspection showed a large gap under the roof, which was open to the attic. I contacted New Sunrise and asked that they come out to repair it, as we are still within our 5 year labor warranty. Juan came out, and said that it was "animal damage," so it is not covered by their warranty. You can see in the photos, that the gap is perfectly straight, and the large opening is not due to animal damage. We tried to give them the opportunity again, to "make it right." Juan is now not responding to our texts and phone calls/voicemails. At this point, we probably wouldn't even trust them to repair it anyway. We have gotten quotes from 2 other roofing companies, both stating that the gap is due to the incorrect size drip pan/drip edge and gutter not secured, and not due to animal damage. We now have to hire someone else and pay a lot of money to have this corrected. Not to mention the huge inconvenience making arrangements with our new tenant. read more

New Sunrise was my pick out of all the quotes I received because they were the only ones that didn't try to upsell or pressure me. They came on time for the estimate, and very frankly and simply gave me an estimate to address the sole problem on my roof. Other companies had super aggressive sales tactics - trying to convince me that I needed a whole new roof (insurance wasn't going to pay for it anyway) or that "other companies would try to take advantage of me financially because I was a woman," or trying to get me to sign a contract on the spot. New Sunrise Roofing was the only company that didn't attempt any of these tactics. When I selected them, they were immediately responsive and able to get me on their calendar in 48 hours. They showed up on time and did the work without issue. I am assuming the work is good until the weather proves me otherwise with a leak. We called New Sunrise Roofing to assess a leak on our 20+ year old sunroom roof. We agreed to install new shingles but the weather had called for cold rain and/or snow on subsequent days and weeks. Juan was able to place and secure a tarp over the entire roof until the weather was clear to install plywood and shingles. During the day of installation, Juan and another roofer arrived on time to work on the project. They also adjusted the corner of the gutter on the main portion of the house where it met the sunroom. Everything from making an appointment to completion of the project was seamless. Very friendly employees who listened to our request for our immediate need to have our roof repaired due to inclement weather. They were the only contractor out of three (3) who was willing to put a tarp over our sunroom before the cold rain and snow occurred. Office person not fluent in English, very difficult conversation, but we got it done. Sched 12-3 first day; NO SHOW - no call. I called them after 3:00 to update status. They apologized (stuff happens but ya gotta call!)and resched for 2 days hence. On time arrival, and both guys did a ok job. Blew out gutters w blower which is ok but some were so jammed, some gunk was left behind. Would have liked to seen them hose out the grime (which grabs the next leaf to fall and glues it to the bottom) to make gutter bottom less sticky. Surveyed the job, matched the color of the gutters. Then No Quote! I emailed them to ask the status of the quote after not hearing from them for a few days. - No Reply. They also didn't hound me for days asking if I was going to choose them like several other companies I got quotes from, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend New Sunrise Roofing for roofing needs. The infamous windstorm of March 2018 hit my neighborhood and many others. My roof was only 10 years old, but due to shoddy Builder's Grade quality shingles, I was missing quite a few. Also, they were starting to crack! It was hard to get vendors out for an estimate, since many were swamped. I ended up getting 3 quotes, New Sunrise included. Juan, the owner, came out to meet with me and provided me a quote. It was the lowest of the three, yet, also I was able to get the extended 25 year warranty thru GAF put on by New Sunrise in my price. That gives me peace of mind...I really don't want to have this huge expense again for a LONG LONG time. The GAF material they recommended w/ a lifetime warranty is excellent material. Come day of install, rain was forecasted the following day....what would have been a 2-3 day job, ended up being a 13 hour job, as there were lots of workers dispatched out to knock out the job in a day due to the inclement weather. Roof looks great now and after all the recent rain, it seems like everything is holding up well! Due yourself a favor and at a minimum, get the free estimate from New Sunrise before you have someone replace your roof. A+++!!! read more

Thank you New Sunrise Roofing! New Sunrise Roofing (NSR), run by Marlin and Juan, is as good as it gets...and then some. I requested three quotes to have my roof replaced and saw the gamut of service. Both my neighbor and I were getting our roofs done so we both thought the roofers would be chomping at the bit to engage with us. NSR was the only one that was responsive, not to mention had the most competitive price using the same exact GAF shingles, underlayment, ice barrier, roof vents, etc. In fact, one of the companies (the largest of the three) wouldn't give me a written quote! NSR was by far the best - lowest price, greatest communication & responsiveness, and ultimately, professional. They gave me their attention, listened to my questions, answered them very timely, and then came back to my house to make sure I had the right information on more than one occasion. It was an easy choice! The crew came out and were there 10 minutes early, worked hard, and cleaned up the job site at both houses to our complete satisfaction only days before the March 2 windstorm. Both of our houses held up as expected! Then once the job was complete, he and Marlin followed up to make sure I was truly satisfied and only then did they invoice me! New Sunrise was working on a roof in my neighborhood. I stopped by yesterday and they gave me a business card. I called the cell for Mr Portillo, he was able to give me an estimate that afternoon and the shingles were replaced today for a very reasonable price. The new shingles match perfectly and the job was done from unloading truck to loading it back up again in about 20 minutes. When the some shingles blew off in the windstorm I had called another company. They said they would come by and email an estimate to me within a week. That was two weeks ago and haven't heard back yet. As a single woman homeowner I find dealing with home repairmen exhausting. Sunrise was a pleasant exception. read more

While the young men that came to do the job were respectful it was obvious they were not very experienced. The broke a branch off the tree in the from of my house to use to clear the down spout. I had to tell the they needed to take the down spout apart to clear it. I also recommend that you ALL estimates and prices in writing from New Sunrise and make sure you get a receipt. After to speaking with several contractors after they did the job I was informed that I paid more than double of what the job was worth. I will never hire these guys again! read more

They care very quickly on a rainy day to fix a roof leak and the guy was very nice. He did a fix with some sealant that cost $500. Rained again and realized that the leak still wasn't fixed. Left a message on a Sunday and got a same day call back with a next day repeat check and repair of another spot. No charge for the repeat fix.
