The woman who took our call obtained information from us, NEVER ONCE explaining that Culligan would pull a credit report on us. When we presented ourselves to the location in Fon du Lac, this woman (who never gave her name - just said she was a manager; had red hair) was extremely rude. When we asked why she didn't tell us she was pulling a credit report, she of course said she did, and that she remembered the telephone conversation 'differently', and informed us there was nothing she would do for us. This employee lied through their teeth, was indifferent and hostile towards potential customers. We moved our business to Kats Culligan in Plymouth, and were given exceptional service. This rude individual is going to lose more business for you, and should be fired. We'll be passing the word along to AVOID CULLIGAN in Fon du Lac.

So, whenever we have had to do maintenance on the system, we have called them for service. Their technicians are prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the products. Recently, we felt the iron filter was not working well enough. We scheduled an appointment for Hanson to send someone over. Dustin came to check out our iron filter and determined that at 15+ years we had some hard choices to make. He walked us through our options, patiently answered my questions, and did not try and sell anything specific. We talked about replacing the water softener at the same time. He ran tests and confirmed it was in working order. We scheduled time for them to replace the iron filter. Again, Dustin and his assistant arrived on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. He took the time to explain the whole setup to me and ensured I was comfortable with the work done. They are easy to work with and a great service-oriented company. I also love the fact they are heavily involved in the local community. Strongly recommend Hanson Soft Water for any water filtration needs. Wish more businesses were like them!

I received a faulty softener unit in my home approx. 5 months ago. The tech was fine until I asked what the company could do for me as I was paying monthly for a non funtional unit for approx 3 -4 months. His answer was not what one would expect and I was humiliated so I wrote the office in April but received no response until I followed up in June. Katie was very responsive and told me all the reasons why my message was not dealt with in a timely fashion. She was able to care for my concerns and complaint in a matter of hours. Today Isaiah, a driver, called with in 10 min of arrival to my home as requested with the salt I needed. He was courteous, friendly and strong. This is not about bad mouthing Guthrie & Frey but rather the opposite. I didn't need to hear that I was the problem for the softener not functioning, nor that the messages weren't being tracked timely due to changes in software at the office. I just needed peace of mind and professionals to f/u with me. I will recommend this company in the future as they did what was needed in the end.

They do water softener, iron filter, and reverse osmosis installation and service, and even salt delivery. They're located in Watertown, WI (Jefferson County), which is just a little west of Oconomowoc, though they'll travel a decent distance. Today's client was in Richfield.
