As someone in healthcare, Dr. Nadji is fantastic. I was able to see him right away for something very urgent. He explained his treatment plan with the latest research and findings. He shared his honest concerns without worrying me. He wanted to see me quickly after treatment to make sure it was working and gave me an appointment 2 days after seeing me. He EVEN messaged me the following day to see how I was doing. I really appreciate him and recommend him to anyone needing an ophthalmologist. I had a very poor experience, starting with the technician that took me through a long battery of unnecessary tests that they did not fully know how to adminiister. They were rude and abrasive as well. When the doctor examined me, he prescribed an eye lotion from a specialty mail order pharmacy that charged almost $200 for a teeny tiny bottle that did not work properly, and, they also did not allow me to use my insurance to pay for it. After a month of trying to use it, it ultimately did nothing to fix my issue, and the whole experience has been frustrating and a complete waste of time. I'm sorry I went here. read more

The team performed all their preliminary tests and asked me to wait for the doctor. He was prompt, polite, and professional. One of the worst experiences I've had in a health practitioners office. The staff is horrible and disrespectful, they treat you like their herding cattle, a genuine mill. The contact lens that were prescribed did not fit properly I called four times to speak to the doctor and was told he was too busy to return my call. I asked to get a transcript of my eye results so I can have it for my file since he is not part of my chart and for that they asked $45 fee. Dr. Nadji came highly recommended so I decided to have him perform bilateral LASIK and cataract surgeries. While the results have been satisfactory, what I had to go through to get them is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. On September 20, 2024 I first visited Dr. Nadji's office to determine my suitability for LASIK, etc. Upon completion of the process, we agreed to have the surgeries performed at the Beverly Hills Specialty Surgery Center on two mornings in November, starting on the 4th with a required arrival time of 6:15 AM. Accordingly, I arranged my calendar to accommodate the required prep time medications, fasting, etc., and had the required pre-op physical with my primary care Doctor on October 14. At 8:00 PM on the evening of November 3, my husband advised me that he had just taken a call from Dr. Nadji. The Doctor said that he had injured his neck and would be unable to go forward with the surgery. The first available date was December 2, which required another pre-op physical on November25 and another round of medical/dietary preparation. The first surgery, on the morning of December 2, went well. However, Dr. Nadji was 45 minutes late, with no explanation. On December 9 we arrived at BHSSC as required at 6:15 AM and waited. And waited some more. No one on the staff seemed to know where the Doctor was. We tried to call him on his cell phone but he did not pick up. We left a message, to which we received no reply. We also made three calls to his office, none of which were answered or returned. Finally the Surgical Center Staff told us, without explanation, that the surgery was "cancelled" so we drove home. Eventually we were rescheduled for an 8:15 AM December 13 surgery (with yet another round of prep) and for a follow up office visit that same day at 2:00 PM. The surgery went as planned. At the office visit, to our amazement, Dr. Nadji explained that the December 9 surgery had been cancelled because he was late returning from a Taylor Swift concert in Vancouver, BC the night before! He was too tired to proceed with the early-morning surgeries on the 9th and simply decided not to show up, without informing any impacted patients (or even his own staff). The final post-op office visit was scheduled for 8:45 AM on January 10. We arrived on time and then waited, and waited some more. No one on the staff could explain the delay. We finally met with a young associate Physician who was charming and professional and who said that Dr. Nadji had called him the night before to say that he was sick. The associate assumed that Dr. Nadji had so informed his office staff, but they denied knowing anything about it. In short, no one should have to go through this kind of aggravation and wasted time, no matter how good the surgical results may be. read more

The BEST! I don't even know where to start ... Dr Nadji and his staff are phenomenal! I was having horrible eye issues and got a referral here. They worked me in (on a Holiday weekend no less). Dr Nadji was so thorough and checked for everything. He was patient (and calm- which is helpful) w all my "OMG am I going blind scenarios?" Had a horrible experience at a difference eye doctor. I came here and the ladies at the front desk were so helpful and understanding and made me feel right at home. The whole process was very quick, little waiting which I loved since I was on my lunch break. I saw the doctor right away. He was quick and efficient and got right to the point but never did I feel rushed. He even asked a little about myself, job which I thought was nice and personal. Special thanks to Melissa who explained everything to me about my insurance, what was covered, helped me pick out frames and explained the price to me so I left with 0 confusion unlike the other place. I have been seeing Dr. Nadji for a few years now. Have always had a great experience with him. I recently, however, did PRK surgery with Dr. Nadji! He was attentive and super nice. He was great at explaining the procedure and walked me through the PRK process, he made sure I had access to him for any concerns or issues. He seems to know overall what he is doing. I noticed a few other reviews mentioning his staff, I'm not sure maybe that was in the past but I had very positive interactions with his staff, they were all really nice and helpful and I never had to sit and wait more than a few minutes for my visits. 150 out of 100 experience! read more

I really like Dr. Nadji a lot!! He's great. My issue is not with him or his direct staff but more with the person who does the prescriptions and contact lenses. I went in for my appt and was excited to try a contact lens option instead of glasses. I have never worn contacts before and the person (I think her name was Kathy) who I guess helps with training was just too busy to help me out and did not have time to show me how to put them in. All she did was send me off with a piece of paper instructions and a couple contacts to try. Well when I tried to insert them myself I could not get the hang of it. I called the office for help and asked if I could come back in so I can be instructed personally how to put the contact in. They said I could come in but it will cost $125 for the person to show me how to do it!! I found that absolutely Ridiculous considering I was just there the day before and already paid $150 for a prescription which now that I think of it I don't want glasses. Dr. Nadji is AMAZING. If I was rating him, I would give him 5 stars. He is so thorough in his exam and takes the time to clearly explain your issue. He will also give a very honest answer about your options and provide long term guidance. However, the two stars are for his staff. The admin staff is the complete opposite of him. While the front desk girls are fine, they were not very helpful in understanding my benefits and options. The worst of them all was the lady working in the glasses department. She blew me off when I asked about what my benefit options are and handed me one pair of glasses that were awful on me. After that, she just sat down and ignored me. I ended up asking to take a picture of my benefits (to which she responded with "this is all online"), and found out that she misrepresented my benefits. On top of that, I missed out on some value-added benefits if I had bought glasses or sunglasses the same day of my exam. Very poor service and awful business acumen. I was ready to spend $$$ on glasses or sunglasses, but left once I was blatently ignored. While I love Dr. Nadji, it'll make it hard to decide whether to continue coming back to him. read more

I not only felt taken care, but I felt seen as a person which is so rare in a doctor's office and even more highly valued for it. The Dr. was fine. Took his time and did the examination right. Now the administrative assistants were a different story. One cut me off while I was trying to pick glasses, contacts and get pricing. She abruptly told me you are done. Go to pay. Apparently it was her break time. Now at the register, I was told I have a co-pay. I told her I will call in with my HSA account. Response: You must pay today before 5 pm. Oh, and we are keeping your prescription for glasses until you pay us. I also had 2 other exams done. Instead of checking my benefits, she said you decide now whether you want to have VSP billed or medical. I am a repeat patient and there was no bill payment delinquency in the past. Felt like dealing with a bill collection agency. Now, I think we deserve better. read more

Dr. Nadji heard what my issue was on the phone, and without a moment's hesitation asked if I could come to his office immediately. As soon as I arrived the office wasted no time taking care of me, filling out forms initially, and then putting me through a litany of tests with their various equipment. At that point I met Dr. Nadji, and he carefully explained my situation, detailing all circumstances involved. I was incredibly impressed with his kindness, professionalism and knowledge, and too, the entire office staff. The only reason I give 4 stars is because his staff - at front desk and in-office eye shop - have been snarky and condescending towards me. They are NOT reflective of the quality care Dr. Nadji provides. It's such a shame that the energy of the front desk staff doesn't match the doctor they work with. I was just yelled at by the receptionist at this doctors office when I called to complain about the bill they sent me. When I came to them they took my insurance information and even tried to bill the insurance, Healthnet, but it turns out they are not contracted with Healthnet at all so insurance did not pay. She yelled at me that it is not their responsibility to check if they are contracted with insurance. Every other doctor you deal with knows who they are contracted with. I'm sure this office does as well. They don't want to turn away business and disclose that they are not contracted. I came in for a medical issue but the doctor insisted on an eye exam as well and changed my prescription. The new prescription was way off and caused visual distortions. I returned for a follow up and the prescription was not adjusted. I was billed $220 for these lenses. He wanted me to see a different specialized eye doctor first. He said he would give me a referral but never did on repeated calls asking for it. I was charged for a second visit for the follow up even though it was to correct their bad prescription and the follow up visit charges were not disclosed to me either. I was also charge $100 at the time of services that has not been credited or reflected in the ongoing bills they are sending me. They rush you like you are on an New York subway. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OFFICE. I have made complaints tot he CA board of Optometry as well as the office of the Attorney General. read more

I am extremely unhappy with Dr. Nadji's office. I went in for my annual eye exam concerned that my vision had gotten worse in part because I was having difficulty focusing and getting occasional headaches. Apparently because I said the word "headache" the office billed my medical insurer rather than VSP which resulted in me having to pay more than $300 for an eye exam that should have been covered by VSP. I tried calling the office multiple times (rarely receiving a call back) and was told that the exam notes indicated that my eyes were red and I had floaters in my vision field, neither of which was true. The office refused to correct their mistake. I will never go back. It's not worth the headache and certainly not worth the $300 or the awful customer experience. read more

Dr. Nadji is an extremely attentive and intelligent doctor. Be very clear about your needs and concerns when talking with the staff. I had some misunderstandings with them, but that is common with most front offices, especially one using modern technology for appointments. I applaud Dr. Nadji for using modern tech here, and know there's always going to be some glitches or hiccups with any technology. I have seen many doctors in my (young) life and can count the attentive and thorough ones on half a hand. I count Dr. Nadji on that list. I have always had 20/20 vision so seeing an ophthalmologist was a new experience for me, yet I felt complete trust in his methods, attention to symptoms, inquisitiveness and determination to diagnose correctly along with clear and easy to interpret explanations & recommendations for someone like myself that has no knowledge of ophthalmology/optometry or eye care whatsoever. **If you're wondering why I went, I was having side effects from a newly FDA approved medication for migraines that has had little research done and it began giving me painful, blurry double vision which was (and still is) frightening. I stopped taking the medication and hope the effects to my eyes go away. You're in good hands here. Now if I can just get a copy of the report for my records! :) read more

TERRIBLE. I don't think I have ever left a review on Yelp, but for this, I have to. Absolutely terrible. I ordered a year's worth of contacts from them and couldn't see out of them. They gave me a new trial pair and I still couldn't see out of them. Every single time I called they said they had to take a message. The front staff is incredibly unprofessional and the Doctor just simply gave me bad eye care. I'm writing this with $300 out of my pocket, no new contacts and no answers as to why the contacts didn't work. This process took nearly 6 months. Never again. read more

I had an eye emergency on a Friday at 4:30 pm and was referred to Dr. Najid who not only waited for me when his office was about to close but personally called me the next day and saw me on Sunday as well! This review is for the extremely rude receptionist and not for Dr. Nadji, who is nice and friendly. I booked an appointment online, but as the appointment approached, I received two different text message reminders--one matched the appointment I made online and the other was for a completely different day. This was confusing so I called the office to verify my appointment. When the receptionist answered, her tone was already agitated. I gave her my name, but she said she couldn't find me in their system. Then I told her the day and time of my appointment, and she was finally able to find my appointment. I explained my confusion to her regarding the different text messages, and she snapped back at me saying they only confirm appointments the day before. At this point I was getting irritated because I was only trying to verify which day was the correct one for my appointment! I have had numerous issues over the years with my eyes. I've been to UCLA and many 'top' drs in the LA area. Each one added more and more drops to my regiment. I even caught conjunctivitis from one!!! My husband, knowing how miserable I have been with these issues, was googling eye drs who specialize in my issues. He found Dr. Nadji. I am forever grateful to him. His office staff is great. Traveling to Santa Monica is not always easy from where I live due to traffic. Even if I get there early, we (my aunt and husband are patients too) do not wait. Dr. Nadji took me off all the drops I was on stating that he believed I developed an allergy to them. Oh my goodness, that's exactly what is was.... While I still have my issues, my eyes feel soooooo much better. Dr. Nadji is very personable and a great Dr. I HIGHLY recommend him. read more

I picked Dr. Nadji by cross-referencing ophthalmologists who take my insurance with Yelp reviews. I can see why he consistently gets 5 stars. His staff was great. Dr. Nadji was not rushed with me, and explained what I needed to know, and had great bedside manner. All you could want. Interestingly, while in the waiting room, I heard two patients strike up a conversation, each stating how much they love Dr. Nadji, how grateful they were to find him, and how he was so much better than other ophthalmologists they had seen in the past. They both agreed that they like that Dr. Nadji is younger, and thus up-to-date on the latest developments. They even commented about how amazing it is that he provides his personal cell phone number to patients, in case he is ever needed after-hours. If I were Dr. Nadji, and overheard this conversation, I would be very happy. Have to say, I agree with the two patients. I would definitely recommend Dr. Nadji. read more

In my opinion, he is the best and brightest MD doctor for Cataract suffers. His detail, communication and in what best for you as a patient is why he deserves 5 Stars. Dr Nadji recommended to go the Laser way of removal of my cataract and it was as painless as having your teeth cleaned with little or no Anesthesia.
