Our selections of premium nigiri, two hand rolls and a sushi roll were extremely flavorful. Everything tasted very fresh. The inside is quite cozy. Directly upon entering, there is tight sushi bar seating as well as only seven tables in a limited, narrow space. The atmosphere was not appealing. A better seating option for a more enjoyable dining experience would be on their patios, which have larger tables and better seating. Service is fast with a warm welcoming, but this evening the service was not particularly efficient. We didn't get beverage refills without asking, and in our initial order, our waitress forgot to order one of our items from the chefs. The spicy tuna hit harder than your ex's rebound, and the eel roll had me rethinking my life choices in the most delicious way possible. The place to hang is definitely on their outdoor patio that also only holds about six tables. On a Friday this place was packed but we thankfully grabbed a seat outside. Staff were nice and the vibes were A+. Now for what everyone cares about, the sushi. We were pleasantly surprised at how generous the sushi portions were and that they had some more unique items. My friend ordered a Starry Night Roll with salmon and spicy tuna which we dubbed a favorite. I fell in love with their Bluefun Tuna. Perfect texture and super fresh. Definitely a cute understated spot to grab lunch or dinner. It's Westlake so prices reflect the ambiance. For about $50 a person we left satisfied but not stuffed. A little pricey but the quality was there and we really enjoyed how nice the patio was and the staff were attentive in bringing out dishes and cashing us out. Innovative rolls, lively ambiance, and reasonable prices! We tried E*Mon for the first time last night, and we had a great time there abd would definitely return. Located in a popular strip mall within Westlake, this small restaurant is highly accessible with ample parking in front. Due to the wide popularity of this restaurant, we made an advance reservation the night before. I am so glad we did, as there was already a line in front of restaurant before it opened at 5 pm. The restaurant is small, with sitting at the sushi bar, inside along the window, and some outdoor sitting. There were about 7 chefs and 5 waiters/waitresses. The operation seemed highly efficient with quick turnaround for all orders and services. As for the menu, this restaurant offers a varieties of innovative rolls, sushi/nigiris, bao buns, salads, sashimi, and beverages. We felt this restaurant really excelled in innovative and yet delicious rolls. We ordered the lemon roll and blue crab/yellow tail roll, and we loved that all the ingredients came together perfectly in lovely presentations. As for the nigiris, while we loved the toros, other standalone fish was above average only. Despite us coming at at 5pm, the restaurant was already out of orange clam, sweet shrimps, and tomago, which felt a bit strange when the restaurant was just opened at 5pm on a busy Saturday evening. There was also an error in our bill where we were initially charged for sweet shrimp and tomago which were out, but they corrected the bill afterwards. The prices at the restaurant was great and very reasonable. Most appetizers were around $10-$15, , rolls were around $15-$25, and nigiris were around $12-$18 for 2. Our bill came to around $200 for people, which was very reasonable for the quality of our meals. If you love innovative rolls, this is the place for you. Came for the sushi, left wanting to hire Michelle as our new bestie! Michelle was hands-down one of the best servers we've had in a long time. She was warm, funny, knowledgeable, and somehow managed to be attentive without hovering, which is a rare talent. The best part? We overheard the table next to us telling her she had made their night... and honestly, same. It's not often you hear another table rave about their server in real time, but it was definitely deserved. The sushi here is the best! They open at 5. If you don't have a reservation it will be difficult to find a seat if you arrive much after 5. Although sushi is not on the top of my favorites, this place served such wonderful sushi it's easy to understand why it is so busy. Really enjoyed our meal! The fish was incredibly fresh, especially the bluefin tuna and the crispy onion albacore. The spicy albacore crispy rice was a fun twist on the classic and absolutely delicious. The classic spicy tuna hand roll was fresh and flavorful, and the Lemon Roll had the perfect citrus kick without being overpowering. Customer service was friendly, and my food came out in less than 15 minutes after I placed my order! They offer daily specials. There is always plenty of parking. There is very limited seating; they suggest making a reservation in advance especially at lunch time, and you can even scan a QR code there to be put on the wait list if needed. Luckily, I was seated immediately when I came today. Note that they offer limited vegetarian and vegan options. All in all, I highly recommend trying E+mon if you have not already. read more

I love this place so much my friend took me there for my birthday and what a delight it was. I got one of their specialty rolls, which was an absolute dream. I got a creamy salmon hand roll, which I really liked because it was sort of like a mix between poke and a roll and the sauce on it was really good And I like that it didn't incorporate sea weed because I'm not the biggest seaweed fan. I also really liked the salmon sampler although I would say this was my least favorite of the three options. I felt that perhaps the. Seasoning that they applied on each of the varieties was just not the best that I've had. We sat outdoors and it was a really nice patio because it was well shaded and even though it was in a parking lot, I felt like the vibe and the view was really nice cause this is a really cool area. The wait staff wasn't anything exceptional, but they brought the food in a timely manner. And my last thought would be that I would've really adored the ability to get some mock tails off of the menu. I absolutely feel like restaurants need to cater more to people who don't drink alcohol, especially in the day and age when the rising generation is far more likely to not drink alcohol and to drink. read more

The emon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Jalapeño Tuna Roll were all delicious, though the Popcorn Spicy Shrimp was our least favorite. Given the names of the dishes, I expected a bit more heat, but that may just be a personal preference as I enjoy spicier food. Service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and efficient. For the quality of food and overall experience, the pricing felt very reasonable. Another plus is the ample parking available. 10/10 best sushi I have had As a sushi snob from LA ( Hollywood Area) I've had my fair share of great sushi spots and haven't really had great sushi in Agora/Calabasas area. I'm so happy to have found E+Mon because it's exactly the flavor profile I was looking for. They have the super traditional stuff I like, a bunch of great specials for the day, great nigiri selection, and good sake as well. But of course, they have the fusion rolls too that are saucey, have tempura, etc. I recommend getting the salmon nigiri with the thin kelp, the nodoguro, anything with albacore, and the yellowtail roll with crab inside. The desserts were really good too. I can go on and on about everything we ordered, it was all so fresh and tasty and nothing smelled or tasted "like fish". I had heard a lot of good things about this spot prior to coming, so I was pretty excited to dine here. Although we weren't very hungry, and it was only a brief lunch stop, I was impressed by the small sample of nigiri that I tasted. The menu contained a lot of great options to choose from. I've been a big fan and regular customer for a few years. Meals typically run $400.-$500. For 2 with 1 or 2 Nigori sakes. The last 3 visits have been pretty unsatisfactory with the last one confirming I'll never go back. Assuming the older sushi chef is the owner, we always sit in front of him. He has been extremely rude and unwelcoming for one reason or another none of which has to do with our party. The sushi was great, but now, just good. The atmosphere and hospitality combined with very high prices makes it easy to cross this off my list for good. Kanda Sushi in Westlake treats each diner as valued guests and the sushi is terrific. While the food has remained good, the service has continued to decline in the last several years as the business has continued to turn over ownership and/or workers and management. In person service can be "hit and miss". Sometimes the service is fantastic. Other times there are long wait times for food and drinks and receiving the check, to the point we have had to get up and find people to get service or handle our bill following 20-25 minutes of waiting. This week we had a repeat disappointing experience with their pick-up service when we placed a dinner order (2 hand rolls and 3 cut rolls), waited 60 minutes for it to be completed and when we arrived it was not done. It took almost 90 minutes to receive our dinner order. It should be noted that their pick-up orders include tip for service but it became clear in conversation that their focus is on "in person orders" and not on handling all customers in the order received. read more
