Filed Formal Complaint Against eMortgage Capital I am filing this complaint due to eMortgage Capital's failure to properly execute a VA IRRRL refinance that began in October and carried into November. The company has formally acknowledged that the failure was on their end. Despite this acknowledgment, they have done nothing meaningful to correct the financial hardship their negligence caused. As a result of eMortgage Capital's failure, I was placed under significant financial burden. I clearly communicated the impact this had on my household and repeatedly asked the company to make this right. Unfortunately, eMortgage Capital demonstrated continued lack of communication, lack of urgency, and a complete failure to resolve the issue they created. I have filed formal complaints with the State of California and the Better Business Bureau due to these ongoing issues. I have personally spoken with senior leadership, including the Vice President and the Chief Operating Officer, multiple times. Despite these escalations, no acceptable or corrective action has been taken. It is now February, months after the original failure, and eMortgage Capital is still attempting to push a deal structure that is no longer acceptable and does not address the financial hardship they caused. Their proposed "solutions" benefit the company not the customer and fail to remedy the damage already done. If you are considering using eMortgage Capital especially if you are a veteran I strongly advise you to go elsewhere. This company makes false promises, demonstrates poor accountability, and takes advantage of veterans' benefits while leaving borrowers financially burdened. After multiple opportunities to resolve this matter appropriately, eMortgage Capital has failed to act in good faith. Based on my experience, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. read more

I would like to share my dream like experienced working with Nico Shokrollahi Mortgage Expert with E Mortgage Capital, Inc. It was my experience that getting any type loan was tedious and complicated. Getting refinancing for my home was a big decision. It was a nerve wrecking undertaking because companies were not in my local area. Initially I went to a a very large Banking Institution to refinance my home. I chose them because of their branch in my neighborhood. The bank processed my loan application and checked my credit history. Two days later, I was bombarded with postcards from loan companies. The bank is not offering any cash out. I was broken. It was time for me to choose from companies in remote locations. I picked up the postcards from Loan companies, read online reviews. I had an great experience working with David Hwang and his team at eMortgage Capital on my refinance. Their interest rates and closing times were the most competitive and I did do a fair amount of shopping around and research before deciding to go with them. Other than these two obvious decision point I can also confirm that David and his team was the best Mortgage team that I have worked with because 1. David is really patient and takes the time to answer all questions and provide you with all the information and a wide range of options to help make your decision. He never gave me the feeling of condescension (you know, I am the expert here, this business is too complicated for you to understand, take it or leave it attitude that you get from everyone else) 2. I was refinancing like everyone else in the States but David never gave me the feeling that he was too busy to talk to me. He was always available and extremely courteous 3. I am not entirely sure how big Davi's team is but Craig Anson assisted me through the entire process and no doubt, he takes after David with his courteousness and helpfulness. We had a bad experience to say the least. The communication is my biggest complaint. We were assisted by loan officer, Mike Noghrehkar (MLS ID: 921878) and branch manager, Patrick Taba. Like many of our neighbors (based here in Phx, AZ) received several refinancing ads from E-Capital. We bit the bullet and after doing some shopping around for rates and reading reviews, we found E-Capital to be more competitive and convenient at the time. Everything went very smooth at first - I was provided with options that were available to me and all my questions were answered in a timely manner. I was also very responsive and provided all required documentation as I was requested in order to proceed with refinancing. As of right now, we have been waiting on underwriting for OVER 2 MONTHS (since 08/2021) to get an answer on our case and we have not heard back from E-Capital's team. Not a follow up, courtesy call, nothing. It's very disappointing that I had to be the one to email/call every 2 weeks to get an update, only to be told that underwriting was still reviewing the information. I don't know how I can be more clear, but it's really an inconvenience as a client to not be updated about what's being considered for their investment. Now, we are left with a negative impact on our credit scores and with no closure about our efforts to refinance. We're letting our neighbors know about this experience. read more

My husband and I are first-time home buyers, and taking the first few steps on how to get started with the home search was so overwhelming! We also quickly learned that our realtor was very disorganized and often pushed us to make rash decisions, but Nathan and Patrick from EMortgage went above and beyond to cover our backs and keep us well-informed with the correct information. On that note, make sure you get a realtor who actually knows what they're doing because we had so many issues with ours (the realtor was so chaotic but it was too late to back out because we already put in an offer)! But if not, Nathan followed up frequently with both us and our realtor to make we were all on the same page after an offer was made and kept things professional. The result? We got a beautiful, spacious home on our second offer made in California and we're grateful to have gotten best outcome. Also, at the beginning of the process, my husband and I were looking at several lenders and applied for a few approval letters. One of them wouldn't even reply to our questions until a whole week later. In a crazy housing market like this, that lack of responsiveness does NOT cut it. I've had positive experiences before with Malik and his team, but this time he and his group really had their work cut out for them. I had just unexpectedly failed approval on a "can't miss" refi loan, largely because the drop in interest rates drove underwriters to higher standards for qualification and I pretty much had written off the idea and resigned myself to almost a hand to mouth lifestyle and unable to pay down enough debt to ever qualify unless I won the lottery. But Malik called to check on me and when I spun my desperate tale, he said he'd get a loan done for me. He put in a lot of effort which was quite apparent and kept his promise while managing to also payoff a furnace loan that I expected to be chained to for nine more years at 9.9%. He and his team are true listeners and wonderful advocates for their clients, if I am any indication, which I think I am. He was able to accurately explain my, at times unique situations, and get a very competitive loan approved for me to give me the breathing room I need to improve my situation long term. He's a personable, intelligent and very knowledgeable person that has a great sense of humor when appropriate. He laughed at my jokes, anyway. It brings me great pleasure to highly recommend E. Mortgage Capital for any new mortgage, refinance, or cash out. I received a phone call one day from loan specialist Joshua Chrun, who was very pleasant to talk with. I had explained to Mr. Chrun that I was already consulting with a lender who had provided me with an interest rate and we were prepared to move forward with the loan. I also advised Mr. Chrun that I didn't want to waste my time or his time since I have heard from previous potential lenders what they were willing to do but could not produce. Mr. Chrun then said to me, if you meet the VA requirements, I can assure you that we can match or come very close to your current interest rate and would be able to close your loan within 14 days. I was like, yeah right....during this time I asked God what should I do? I was led to proceed in working with Mr. Chrun and loan specialist Ms. Karen Alexander. These guys were amazing! After a long extensive nightmare of recieving non-stop calls from lenders, I found great favor with Joseph Shalaby. Unlike the other lenders seeking my business, Joseph called and reassured me that he was there only to educate me in which loan package would work best for my situation and that he only wanted to inform me of what I was getting into before choosing a lender. Needless to say, after a few more lenders tried to solicit my business I ended up calling Joseph back and thanked him for not pushing me to prequalify until I was ready. When my Realtor sent him the purchase contract he instantly had his team hard at work. They went over the paperwork right over the phone with me line per line and dedicated their time answering all of my questions. I had an excellent experience refinancing my mortgage with E Mortgage Capital. I worked with David Mann and Paul Burgoon who walked me step by step through the whole process. There were friendly yet very professional and kept me informed of each stage of my loan application. The fact that I was located in the West coast while they were in the East coast made it a lot easier for me. My work is quite demanding and I do not have too much free time from 8, to 5pm. As soon I was done with work, I was able to dedicate time to gather papers, reading and signing documents and communicating with them. No only I got the best rate (I had 10 different quotes) but I was able to communicate with them via text, e-mail and phone call. No matter what I needed they were there to provide me with a prompt answer. Also, importance to notice closing only took 1 month which is a record time now days. Working with Joe Shalaby at E Mortgage Capital was the greatest thing we did when I needed to refinance our loan. I first used Joe when I needed to refinance a home equity loan that had a variable rate and I needed to combine that with my home loan. He accomplished that and it was a very fast and easy process. He then called me up 6 months later saying he can now get us a better interest rate so we proceeded to refinance again. I got a lower interest rate and he even paid alot of the fees that always come with getting a new loan. I did not have to pay any appraisal fees either since he covered those costs also. The greatest thing with that loan was I got some money back which helped us out tremendously. I also want to thank Roger Gonzalez who was a great person to work with.
