I hired Elite Paving of Rehoboth to pave my driveway and breezeway entrance. They put down a beautiful blacktop driveway. Unfortunately, that would have been Great, but... Elite is also in the Pool business. I got a Pool in my Breezeway and a Pool in my Garage whenever it rains. I've called them repeatedly to help rectify the problem, I spoke with Mark, told him the situation... he never called back! That job cost me $5,000! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! We hired Elite to do an extension of our driveway in May of last year. To be fair they re-did our original driveway and it came out nice, so it seemed like a no-brainer to hire them again. Jason talked me into putting in extra asphalt that they had left over from their previous job as it would make the extension even sturdier and he would give me a deal. I said sure, and I've been hitting myself for that decision ever since. They didn't give me a drive way extension, they gave me a hill of asphalt next to my driveway! I called Jason nearly every week to get this fixed as I knew it would be a pain to get my snow blower over the hump that they left. He made many promises that they would come out but they were constantly followed by excuses on why they couldn't come. It was around September that he stopped taking my calls or returning my messages altogether. Here we are in February and that whole side of the driveway is covered in snow, because, as predicted, my snow blower gets caught up on the hump. This is the most unprofessional B.S. I've ever seen with a contractor. Especially one that touts a satisfaction guarantee on their contract. So save your time, save the frustration, and just go with someone else. It will be worth the extra money, because with this place, you'll just have to spend the coin to hire someone else to fix their mistakes anyways. read more

Like everyone else, I deeply regret ever engaging with Jason Silva. He did a fairly decent job of paving the driveway, but left asphalt all over a small stone wall, damaged much of my newly planted garden by walking through it several times, as well as dragging my garden hose through the plantings, then leaving it thrown over small plants when he left. Damaged the light fixture above garage doors. He also buried the water shut-off that unfortunately is in the middle of the driveway, even after I pointed it out to him, and marked it. Many excuses, many more promises, nothing has been done. The only reason I have stopped chasing him is that he was never paid in full. And never will be! read more

He guaranteed 3 inches of asphalt. The places where it was breaking up were less than a half inch thick. He was overpaid $2000.00. When I called him to get the money over paid he said he has the cash and told me on several occasions that he would come out to my house and give me my money and take care of the poor quality work he did. Do not under any circumstances hire this company to do any work on your driveway unless you want holes that collect water, scraped areas that expose gravel at the base,pieces of tar that break off by walking on on it with soft sneakers and dented vinyl between the garage doors. I hate to leave poor ratings - as a small business owner I know how hard it is to be in business, but I do not want what happened to us to happen to anyone else. Jason Silva, owner of a paving business that is based back east but works out of Chula Vista for five or six months a year. He told me we could get our driveway paved for only 5,000. He promised it would be thick and last for years. I asked if there was a warranty and he said one year. He said it would be as wide as the apron the whole way up the drive way. After he did it, it was terrible. It was crooked and not as wide as the apron. For him to come back and fix it, he said we had to get a little more done. So we had him do our parking area also. He did widen the street, but it looked patched. It is also a little lumpy, not perfectly smooth, but the parking area looked pretty good so I paid him the entire amount $10,500. I didn't know that my neighbor paid her share of $2,000 directly to him. He cashed both checks. When I found out and contacted him - he said it was an honest mistake and he would return the $2,000. Two days later the driveway started crumbling apart and I could see the blacktop was only about 1/2" thick. He said he would come fix it. He never returned the money and never fixed our driveway and is now not answering our calls. Please beware! You cannot tell how thick the paving is by the edges. Do not trust this company! read more
