My friend and I came here randomly on a Saturday. It was empty for the post lunch hour which I didn't anticipate. We chose to order the Takoyaki to share and we chose a ramen for me and a Gyu don beef bowl for him. Service - amazing. Very attentive. The food didn't take long and when it arrived it was pleasing to the eye. Great presentation. Crispy chicken ramen- nice top to keep the fried chicken on the side. They use thigh meat so the flavor was all and through each bite. I enjoyed the ramen but I wanted it to be super spicy and it wasn't. The broth was still great. Gyu Don - too much more rice than the other toppings. I would've appreciated a bit more sauce. The beef was tender and the portion matched the price as well. Super plus. My friend and I plan to return.

There's a new owner and apparently a new cook as well. The Ramen is not worth it and unfortunately they don't know how to boil an egg properly even though we asked for a new one the cook spent 15min trying to get it out but it took too long and we left. No attention to detail, meat was tough and broth was not good. The server was very apologetic and nice, the place has no color, white walls, plain, not inviting at all.

Lunchtime wasn't too busy for midweek. The food is always good. The portions are fair. Nice neighborhood place for ramen.

I gotta say, this is my first time trying Ramen. It was not busy at all when we arrive with just one other part dining in. They guy that took our order was very welcoming and friendly. Got us going right away. We started off with an order of their Pork Gyoza. These very tasty and juicy. It's hard to get these wrong, and E ramen did not fail. My wife ordered their Spicy Unami Miso. It came with ground pork, bean sprouts, green onion, bok choy, chili oil and shredded pepper all in a very delicious tasting rich pork broth. This ramen was so flavorful, I regret not ordering this for my self. I went with their Spicy Chicken Ramen and asked for it to be very spicy. This one as served with thin noodles, chicken chashu, bok choy, green onion and a seasoned egg. This one had some heat to it, but was more bland tasting compared to the spicy unami that my wife ordered. While I still enjoyed it, I probably wouldn't order it again. Overall a great first experience with Ramen and wouldn't hesitate returning here if I'm in the area.

One of my new favorite ramen spots in Chicago! Cute neighborhood spot, it seemed like there were a lot of people coming in for takeout. There was a large group eating also when my boyfriend and I walked in but the service was still quick and friendly. We started with the takoyaki which was delicious - freshly fried with a perfect ratio of octopus and doughy goodness. I got the classic tonkatsu and my boyfriend the spicy tonkatsu. The chashu was melt in your mouth delicious and the broth had a deep flavor that still didn't feel too heavy. My boyfriend apparently thought the spicy was not spicy enough (to be fair he has an insane spice tolerance) but the waiter was gracious enough to bring extra spicy sauce for him. Finished the whole bowl which was definitely too much food for one meal but it was hard to stop eating. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious ramen spot!

Today was my first time ever trying Ramen that wasn't store bought. I was actually very surprised with how good it was. We ordered for pickup. I ordered the chicken ramen it was delicious. The broth was very tasty, the noodles had flavor, and I like the combination of all the different kinds of veggies and the fried onion straws were great. My fiancé had the spicy chicken ramen. He really enjoyed his as well, he said it really wasn't that spicy, but it was delicious.

This is our second time ordering from e-Ramen so I can give a review. We only ordered here since we can go anywhere and pretty bored with other places. Taste - The shrimp hibachi taste okay. Nothing special about it. Wish it was a fried rice instead of white rice. When you heard hibachi, you instantly think it comes with a fried rice. The tonkatsu Ramen was also okay. The broth is not that thick, its more on the watery side according to my husband. We also ordered California maki and shrimp tempura maki. My kids loved it! The rolls were made good and its not breaking apart. Price - I think the price is okay. Almost all place have the same price. So yeah, no complain here. Delivery - we ordered through GH and so far its within the delivery time. So pretty happy here. 4 stars because my husband said the broth was om the watery side. Normally my husband is pretty easy compared to me so if he said its watery, I believe him. Will update once my husband says its good enough.

I ordered the original tonkotsu ramen for take out and while the broth had good flavor it was definitely missing something. I like my ramen spicy so I got the chili oil on the side but it wasn't enough to get it at the right spice level. Meat tasted good but not as succulent as I would have liked. They also forgot the mushrooms and the fried garlic chips that it is supposed to come with, which made a huge difference- I felt like both of those would have added the texture I needed. Fried gyoza were food, edamame was pretty standard. They forgot to give the deep spoons as well. Positives were that order was ready quickly, friendly service. Worth trying again in person I think though.

Please please go to E Ramen if you're craving ramen, sushi or a number of other menu items! I'm a frequent visitor of Chicago. I'm so excited to have been introduced to E Ramen by a friend. This gem is situated near Armour Square and Bridgeport, kinda. The atmosphere is very chill. I imagine many people do carry out but there is also the option to dine in. Our server was quite friendly. He has the double role of running register and serving dine-in guests. That should tell you how small this place is. When asked what he recommends, the server literally said "EVERYTHING!!" I believed him too. I didn't think he was just saying that to get more business. We tried the Karaage Chicken, it was described to me as being similar to Korean friend chicken. Karaage literally is Japanese friend chicken. They are similar. I'd recommend it. I got the Tonkotsu Spicy Ramen. It was some of the best ramen I'd had in a while. I whole-heartedly recommend it. I got the Spicy Chicken Ramen to go and heard amazing things about it as well. In conclusion, if you want ramen in Chicago, go to E Ramen. The End.

Crispy shrimp with teriyaki sauce. YUMMY

Another ramen place for the books! On my quest to find the best ramen in Chicago, I stumbled onto this place. I was on my way to another ramen place when, while driving pass I noticed this spot. I promptly did a U-turn (legally, of course!) and was able to grab a parking spot right in front. Very cute and trendy spot. Clean area with a few dine in tables and a large flat screen on the wall. I quickly scored an empty table and proceeded to gaze at the menu. The waiter was very friendly and nice. He asked if I had walked or parked out front. I told him I parked and he gave me a parking pass to put in my car for free! It was a Sox game that night and some streets have parking restrictions in the area. I thought that was pretty awesome. This is a ramen and sushi spot. While I love both, my inner ramen was calling so I opted for ramen and an appetizer. The appetizer was crispy shrimp with a teriyaki sauce that was filling and delicious! The ramen was pretty good too! I had the spicy chicken ramen in which you can choose your level of heat. All in all, I am definitely going back to try the sushi and order more ramen. Glad I had a chance to stop here.

After hearing on a online magazine about E Ramen being on the top 10 ramens in Chicago we decided to try it. We live so close to it so why not. It's a very cozy place small but nice. I think it's family own. A very nice boy was our waiter today. He was very attentive and served us great. He even refilled our waters without us asking, very good costumer service. We ordered the original tonkotsu ramen, the shrimp fried rice and the tempura shrimp roll. Wow it was super delicious. Everything, was great that nothing tasted bad to me or my husband. I highly recommend recommend this place hands down. We will be back to try their other dishes and appetizers. You won't be disappointed!

    Gyu Don Beef Bowl
    Aaliyah L.

Stopped here because it seemed like a lowkey gem with good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I tried the spicy chicken ramen, takoyaki octopus balls, Las Vegas roll, and the gyu don beef bowl. It's a pretty small place and you're not going to get amazing service, but the food was very tasty and and worth a try. I thought I wouldn't like the texture of the octopus balls, but I actually enjoyed them and I think the ramen is especially good for beginners. The sushi roll was good as well, I was just too full to finish it! I wish they were BYOB!

Super cute little ramen spot that takes their broth seriously. I really appreciate that they have chicken broth since veggie broth is the norm substitute for non-pork eaters. The chicken broth hit the spot as its more flavorful than the veggie broth I'm usually forced to order. The dining room is cute, clean and simple. I was in on a week night so even though it was one person manning the front for both pick up and dine-in customers, we didn't feel abandoned. I'd def go back when in the area.

My friend enjoyed her fried chicken bun the most. She loved how soft the bun was and thought the sauce on the sandwich really brought everything together. We did have a little hiccup at the end of our meal. We waited for the bill for a while before flagging down our server, only to find out that the bill was connected to the QR code in the booth. I actually think that's a really cute and convenient concept, but it would be helpful if guests were told about it when they're seated or when the food is delivered. I was skeptical when I first heard the name Monster Ramen. All my previous personal experiences…read morehave always proven to me that restaurants with names that don't represent their culture in distinct ways are generally subpar. For example, I would usually never even think to step into a restaurant named Best China House, Sushi Bistro, or Mom's Korean Restaurant. (Apologies if your shops are named as such. These were meant to be generic examples) Oh, how times have changed. I would have never thought having a bowl of ramen at a Monster Ramen would give me this much pleasure. Part of it will (in fact, most of it) be on me and my general philosophy on fusion cuisine and outdated gemerational gap. There was definitely a time when avoiding agorementioned type of restaurants may have been deemed smart. But I feel the new generation of restaurant owners and chefs have up'd their games in not only at better food making, but also accepting of a bit more irony. Anyone who knows me knows how much I stay away from trying anything "fusion." It's kinda funny to myself how hypocritical it is that I would be totally okay in substituting an ingredient or two when I'm missing some when cooking, but when it comes to paying money to sit and eat that I would judge chefs by thier style of cooking. Yes, a big part of it is based on a large pool of personally gathered data, but I do acknowledge that I need to open myself up a bit more. Case in point. I was recommended MR by a fellow Yelper and I decided to give it a whirl. I happened to have a friend and his son with me, so I was able to do small tastings of 3 different ramen. And boy, was I pleasantly surprised. We collectively had bowls of shio, shoyu and miso specials. Plus, I ended up getting the Summer Special bowl to go for my wife. All of them had their individual charm to them but more importantly, each of them were made to perfection when it came to broth seasoning and noodle texture, which are THE two most important aspect of ramen, in my opionion. Not too salty nor bland soup. Perfectly dense noodles. I just loved all four! It wad when I tasted the yuzu in tgeir shio ramen that my wife would love it. Even though I brought her the spicy Sunmer version home, I still think it'll be worth bringing her and our daughter back when we get a chance to. Our server Dionne (I think) was most pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, too. It helped that I came before the dinner rush, although, I can also see more lively vibe being nice as well. Will be back with the fam definitely!

Was very excited to try this place since I've heard a lot of good things. Our server was very nice and attentive though, we knew what we wanted so we placed our order and received our food quickly too. I enjoyed The Monster ramen that I got, the broth was super flavorful and perfectly creamy. I loved the beef jam and Wagyu chashu, Although, I will say the noodles themselves didn't really stand out. I enjoyed my ramen but I'm not sure I would get it again. I would definitely come back to try their other ramen though.
