    Sushi and nigiri (AYCE)
    Clarissa C.

Such an amazing deal - AYCE sushi dinner for 21.99! 10% off discount if you pay in cash! A quick note that there's a limit of 10 nigiri per round per person. You can always order more later! They have a variety of appetizers, nigiri (not sashimi), and speciality rolls. The color dragon was delicious!!! The nigiri is great quality for the price point. I was obsessed with the fire salmon, which is a slightly torched raw salmon with yum yum sauce and unagi sauce on top. This is definitely a popular restaurant! The service was incredibly fast, and all the tables were filled the entire time we were there! They had a bunch of delivery orders too.

Omgeee. This is my daughter/mom date spot with my teen. We love coming here for sushi once a week. We come so often we normally get the same table. It's that good. We have done the all you can eat menu before and it's a great value but we typically order the same thing every time we come in: Godzilla Roll Kani Bomb Kani Seaweed And maybe another roll, boba and a Diet Coke. LOL Highly recommend you make a reservation because this place gets packed after 5 any day of the week.

Sushi was subpar, we've had much better, the Sit down Cafe was way better. We also ordered the Beef and Chicken Udon, both lacked flavor. And offered nothing to enhance the flavor. Bottom line, not coming back

Came here for dinner on a busy Friday night! Around a -15/30 min wait. Everything came in plastic containers or paper plates which was interesting. Sushi fish quality definitely wasn't the highest, but for the price it was decent/mid. Ambiance was ok.

Dragon Maki (10/10) - my favorite. I get this every time

Very affordable sushi in Hyde Park with fast service and a lunch/dinner AYCE buffet. They serve all their food on paper plates or carry-out containers. I would stick with their sushi because their ramen was very bland and cheap tasting. *safe for nut allergies*

Everything was single use, paper and plastic (a lot of waste).

Right off the top, the paper plates and plastic cutlery, I had my miso in a styrofoam cup. it's obviously not going to kill me but still dissatisfying for a dining experience. I also want to echo what others have said it messes with the flavors and temperature. the service was solid and I have my go-to roles such as #107 the fire dragon (SO SO GOOD) and the Submarine roll.

It is so good, my friend works here and the service is amazing ! I love the taro boba and rainbow maki here and the ramen noodles are good too! And it was all for a cheap price, and the thai vibes were so amazing and I loved being here !

Mi-So Ramen was tasty and filling.

Came for a late lunch and enjoyed the place. It was easy to get a spot, but I could tell that this might be quite different at a more peak time. It could get quite packed because it is a small space. The hostess and waitress were awesome. Started off with the california maki. A bit scantier than I expected. Likely wouldn't do it again. The Mi-So Ramen was very good. Quite tasty and filling. Unfortunately, I was just at a celebrated Ramen restaurant in another city, so I felt a little let down. I'm sure I would have felt better about theirs if I hadn't been spoiled. Definitely a spot I would go to again and my lunch partner is a practical regular.

    Overstuffed sushi

Honestly racist place. I've been here 3 times out of thinking maybe it's just me. It's not. To be constantly stared at like a spectacle yet no one wants to even say anything to us? No hello or welcome. They were upset with me when I asked to switch tables. The raw fish in the sushi isn't that fresh at all. The sushi was overstuffed with clearly overwatered rice. The seaweed was often too hard to even chew through. They won't give you ice cream unless you ask despite it being included it in the all you can eat option. I could've walked out without paying. That's how much they weren't paying attention to me. I waited 30 minutes for a check. They never brought it. I had to go to the front to pay, despite the waitress asking the white man and Indian man next to me if they wanted their checks. The raw fish in the sushi isn't that fresh at all. The sushi was overstuffed with clearly overwatered rice. The seaweed was often too hard to even chew through. There are way too many Sushi restaurants in Chicago with much options better interior and much better sushi for this place to be so rude. I wouldn't feed this to my dog.

Pretty good quality sushi for AYCE restaurant. Our orders came quick. It's good for groups. Love the music. Too hungry to take all the food pics.

On a cold, rainy day, there's nothing better than a hot, comforting bowl of ramen, and this one hit the mark. The ramen was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The egg (non-negotiable for me), paired with edamame, and finished it off with just a touch of extra salt to bring everything together. Every slurp was satisfying. What stood out just as much as the food was the experience, quick seating, attentive service, and an atmosphere that made it easy to slow down and enjoy the moment

It's bigger than meets the eye. I ordered the Tonkotsu Premium Ramen. A little disappointed that I got a lot more fat than I did the lean meat but it was still delicious. I'm a spice girl so the chili oil on the table was put to good use. For my drink, I selected the Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. To my surprise, it wasn't as sweet as I expected but I liked it. Subtle sweets are my favorite. The only downside was that our table was sticky and so were the menus. I understand it can get hard to upkeep certain things when you're busy, but it seemed like a chill day. Nonetheless, I'd return for the ramen. Overall 8.5/10

Aggressively mediocre food, inconsistent service, poor ambiance. I have been here more than once,…read moremostly because of friends who attach sentimental value to this restaurant as long-time Hyde Parkers. I've tried the drunken noodles, the vegetarian egg rolls, the pad thai with tofu, and the panang curry with tofu. The food is definitely palatable, but not very tasty or flavourful. I brought my mother who has spent a few years in Bangkok to this restaurant and she was definitely not happy, though there wasn't anything noticeably wrong with the food other than extreme blandness. One thing that I do appreciate about the restaurant is that many of the curries are made without fish sauce, which makes veganizing the dish relatively easy. The staff are also accommodating when requested to veganize dishes. Service is a mixed bag: the older woman can sometimes be curt though I have witnessed her being much kinder on other days. Reportedly, she is kind and accommodating towards families with younger kids as well as regular patrons. The quality of service is inconsistent among other servers. The ambiance is charmless and unremarkable, though the place is usually clean. The restaurant is easily accessible by public transport and the university shuttle. Overall, will likely not return. There is better and cheaper Thai and East Asian food to be had outside the neighbourhood.

It's just as well, because it wouldn't be much fun eating here. This is a pretty stale environment, making it better to enjoy it somewhere you can feel comfortable and whatnot. Came by to get carryout. The best vegetarian choice is the House Special Tofu. It's about $8 at lunch. This entree is fairly simple, consisting of tofu mixed with spicy bean sauce, and vegetables such as black mushrooms. About as good as you can expect. There's a pretty good spice level and some actual flavor. Better isn't easy to find among South Side Chinese. It has the basic Americanized Chinese stuff which is pretty okay in all honesty.
