When Cravings Go Unfulfilled: Smaller Portions and Poor Customer Service We are frequent shoppers at E+ROSE and have never really had a negative experience, beyond the somewhat typical long waits. However, today was a completely different experience--not only was it negative, but also very frustrating. Today, while running errands around Nashville, my pregnant wife's craving for the day was frozen treats from E+ROSE. Knowing that their waits can be long, I called a total of four times over a 45-minute period, and nobody ever answered the phone. We decided to drive there in hopes that they were not closed. When we arrived, there was no one in line and only five people in the establishment. However, as usual, they were extremely backed up. I was sitting on a bar stool by the pickup area, watching the crew do what they do best. I noticed that one of the acai containers placed on the counter had noticeably less of the frozen contents inside than the rest. In the back of my mind, I was hoping this wasn't mine. As the orders progressed, I saw her turn the container and saw my name on the side. I immediately went up and indicated that it did not have nearly as much as normal, or as much as the two other ones that were sitting right next to it. To be clear, it was extremely noticeable that there was a discrepancy between the three that were sitting on the counter. Another employee, who I assume is responsible for making that portion of the acai bowl, stepped over. I spent far more time than I should have had to explaining to her that my main concern was the quantity of frozen acai mixture in the container. Despite asking her on three separate occasions to take a look at the containers and visually see the discrepancy between them, she refused to do so. She just continued to look me straight in the eye and say, "No, they are exactly the same. We measure, so they are all equal." As you can imagine, this was very frustrating for me, as I could visually see there was a discrepancy and she was refusing to look. She eventually asked if I wanted her to remake it, so I said yes. Unfortunately, this is where it went from a negative experience to a very frustrating one. As I watched her make the replacement, I saw her intentionally leave a substantial amount of the frozen mixture in the bottom of the blender jar before handing the container over to the person who was prepping the toppings. The new one was almost identical to the first one and still noticeably smaller than the others sitting on the counter next to it. You would think that after our interaction she would be diligent in ensuring it had the normal amount, but I can only assume she was attempting to prove me wrong. We always order extra peanut butter and granola. With the normal amount of frozen mixture, the top is always smushed down on the mixture, so much so that when we open it up, there is a glob of peanut butter and granola stuck to the lid. This is the way it is every time we pick it up, as well as the way I saw other people's bowls being delivered while I was waiting today. I was handed my bowl and I left. I'm attaching a photo of what I was handed as soon as I stepped outside. As soon as I got in the car, I handed it to my pregnant wife who was craving it today, without saying a word. The first thing she said after "thank you" was, "Wow, it looks so much smaller than normal." She then realized that the only two toppings included were peanut butter and granola. The bananas, honey, cinnamon, and almonds were nowhere to be found. Needless to say, this was an extremely frustrating experience for both of us today. Not only was the volume of the product less than normal, but it was also incredibly clear that the staff was probably moving quickly the first time around, but then intentionally skimped my second portion to prove a point. This is extremely unprofessional and unfair, which I know is not the reputation E+ROSE would be proud of. read more

My only slight complaint is that if you go here for lunch and grab a wrap from the counter, it's soggy.... because they are made each morning, and the sauce/ingredients have melded together. The smoothies are 3-stars. They're ok, but nothing to write home about. I'm assuming they're organic so that part is good, but taste is middle of the road. But they're very expensive. VERY. they need to have a larger portion at that price so I can take it home and pull it from the fridge for another serving. They're almost 2x the cost of Smoothie King and 1/2 the size. The ambiance is nice and clean, which is to be expected for restaurant at any level. But it's kinda the same ol' same ol' - let's say 3.5 stars. Where they shine is service. Easy 5-star service rating. They're patient, and helpful. On top of this, incredibly nice. Will I go again? Maybe. But I can't justify the price. I do love the food at this place but I just had a horrible experience. I was in there with my baby - no orders in front of mine and the employees all were talking to each other, no one making my bowl. Then a customer came in with a dog, they all started freaking out about the dog and talking to that customer for a while. Then processed to all go to the back while still not making my order. I finally moved with my crying baby to another spot in the restaurant and they started making another order for another customer. I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, but enjoy eating plant-based meals frequently. I tried the Nashville Hot Kale salad, and it was actually quite pleasant! The pumpkin seed dressing tasted very creamy and yogurty, despite being plant-based. It had good flavor, which is sometimes hard to come by with vegan food. The texture of the ultra crispy chickpeas, the cashews, and the cucumbers was phenomenal, and there was a very subtle heat that built as I continued to eat it. I ended up adding a dash of hot sauce, but I would absolutely get this salad again. I also tried the spring rolls and the ginger green smoothie, of which were decent. The spring rolls were jam-packed with veggies, and were definitely an incredibly light meal. I love regular Vietnamese spring rolls, so I was personally missing some rice noodles on the inside, but they were still okay. I know it was more veggie-focused, so if that's what you were looking for with the spring rolls, then you'd probably love them. Also, the peanut sauce was delicious. The ginger green smoothie wasn't really my cup of tea, but other people that sipped it ended up liking it. What a hot mess. Place was full of 20 year olds milling about, no one quite figuring out what to do. Although the food pupports to be vegan, it's not! Most items have honey in them, which is pretty misleading. From a nutritional viewpoint there's zero reason to include honey. I ended up with a berry smoothie, but there was far too much peanut butter in it making it very bitter. I also got a wrap which was full of non listed onion (yeah, maybe I should have asked but there's no excuse). Since there was a vast amount of raw onion in it it was impossible for me to eat and I had to throw it out. What a waste. They give you a good amount of smoothie base and a ton of toppings! They use all products that are available at your local store and not purchased in bulk from no name brands. Been there previously in trips to Nashville, but was in there twice last weekend. First time grabbed a wrap out of the cooler and a couple of smoothies. Smoothies were tasty, but the wrap, wow, the wrap. The Katalina. Quinoa and black beans in the tortilla. Solid. But the pumpkin seed and cashew Nashville hot green sauce as well as the side of pico it came with....Awesome. I wish I had a jar of that to take home with me. Our next time in, the kiddo had an Acai bowl filled with strawberry, banana and açaí which was tasty and I had the avocado toast. This was good, not quite as good as the Katalina (which I grabbed another one to take back to the hotel for later in the day), but tasty. My husband and I love the smoothie bowls. The ingredients are fresh and they are the largest bowls we've seen! Highly recommend.

I will say that sometimes Ive had great bowls here but sometimes I havent. I wish they made it easier to pick and choose what you want in it. But if you do try to change something like strawberries instead of blueberries or hemp protein instead of pea protein they charge you. Whats funny is blueberries on their menu is more expensive for strawberries and the fruit takes up the same amount of space in the bowl but if I want strawberries instead I get charged $2.50. This is already on top of a $15 bowl of fruit. Which I can deal with because I like acai bowls but not with the extra charges. The staff is nice but they sometimes get my order wrong. If they make it easier and painless to modify bowls or create my own bowl then I will come back and raise the rating to 4 or 5 stars. read more

I ordered the avocado toast and the Sobro bowl...the bowl is huge and you definitely get your money's worth. I wasn't that impressed with the toast and I think it's just because of my personal preferences. It seemed a bit too dry. There are other various smoothie, bowl and breakfast options. They have items that you can grab and go such as kale salad and raw pad Thai, smoothies, etc... There is ample parking outside and very spacious inside. read more
