    Bathroom ants.
    Nikki G.

Stayed here overnight. I understand it's an older facility however, the issues should definitely be addressed. For some odd reason every time the shower was used ants would take over the bathroom. It was apparent they forgot to vacuum. Finally the shower head leaked and dripped onto the metal tub faucet making a ping all night. Draped a towel over it for some peace and quiet. I made the issues known at the front desk. Unit 146 needs to be off limits until issues are resolved.

Disintegrating headboard of bed. The other queen bed was in the same condition. It was flaking off onto the pillows.

Eagle Crest has seen better days. We stayed in the lodge for two nights. The first thing I noticed was the crumbling fake leather headboard behind the bed. Pieces of the crumbling headboard were scattered over the pillows of both queen beds in the room. If I were the manager, I'd be ashamed of renting a room looking like this. Second, was the bed. I don't think I've felt a harder bed other than laying on concrete. I woke up with aching shoulders and hips, and it didn't help my sciatica either. The bedding was fine, but scratchy. Third, when trying to operate the HVAC system from the wall control, all you could do is turn it on or off. Went to the unit under the window and lifted the control cover, which came off in my hand. Was able to adjust things on the unit, and luckily, it wasn't obnoxiously loud when it cycled on and off during the night. Fourth, while entering the shower, I noticed a number of long black hairs stuck to the wall. These were not from my head as I hadn't gotten into the shower yet. Fifth, there were no USB ports of any kind in the room. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to bring the part to my phone's charger that plugs into the wall, thinking I could just plug into a port, which almost all hotels have these days. Nope! No such luck. Nothing in the lobby either, and the front desk said, "Sorry." The only good thing was that the shower provided (after I cleaned the walls of someone else's hair) plentiful hot water. We paid $161 a night plus taxes and fees, for two nights, which came to $380. For that amount of money I expect a room that is just a little more comfortable than what we received. Eagle Crest needs to go through their rooms and make some updates including replacing shabby looking headboards, electrical outlets that have USB connectors, and a housecleaning staff that pays more attention to the cleanliness of the bathrooms.

Great location for outdoor adventure. The sports centers are good for indirect fun. Many choices for accommodations. First visit we stayed in smaller, older condo right in gold course. Second visit was in 2 bedroom condo overlooking the river. Both served our needs well. Great walking trails, 3 gold courses and putt-putt gold course. Have fun!

Nice grounds but the rooms are dated and show a lack of maintenance and care. A large property with three golf courses, five swimming pools (one indoors), two restaurants and a tap bar (that wasn't open). Must have been quite nice when newer.

Best I can muster is a 3* rating ... at most! The hotel is showing its age! Musty room smell, visible black mildew in shower and worn hallway carpets etc. If you are looking for an 80's throwback resort you've found it! Buyer beware notice here ... we reserved a GOLF COURSE VIEW two room suite. We were placed on the first floor meaning we were one level below the main floor and opened the curtains to a fantastic view of a bunch of shrubs and couldn't see any golf course! This was very DISAPPOINTING and not what was reflected/shown online.

First let me say, I am no golfer but I was looking to stay the night near the Redmond airport since I was flying out the next morning. And since I had specifically come up here to check out central and eastern Oregon, I vowed to have my "nature experience" at a place outside the city. Eagle Crest fit that bill. I will note that Eagle Crest is located out in the middle of nowhere. This is high desert Oregon, so you can forget the big trees and misty tree ferns of the coast. Here, rolling hills and rustic scenery dominate and I loved it. The Lyft driver passed farms, barns and cows and I actually got some bird-watching in on the way up. Quiet and peaceful territory. The resort itself was nice. It was decorated for Christmas very nicely. I felt a happy, wholesome feeling in the lobby. Staff was very helpful and cordial. They did not appear to be too put out and helped me pick some snacks and drinks to take back to my room. It actually seems like they might just like their jobs!!!! I must say I was impressed with the curated convenience store frig full of drinks, a few bottles of wine and a small beer selections. The room, itself, was great. The bed was very comfortable and the TV got all the good cable channels. I went outside to look around but not for long because it was very cold. However, the property is lovely and well-maintained. If I was a golf nut, I would certainly make a pilgrimage out to play this most beautiful course. But I was on my way home, and I was so happy I made the trek to the high desert boonies to see Eagle Crest. 5 YELP STARS.

One of the most beautiful golf holes I've ever seen..

First off unfortunately rooms are outdated like lots of people are saying, they are very basic rooms no frill.. for being a resort you would think it would be very updated and fun.. Second the hotel grounds itself is tricky, it is a big golf course with lots of walking and trails, my dog loved it... every morning we walked 1-2 miles. 3rd it's not the most kid friendly like they sorta promote. Yes it has 3 fitness centers with 3 pools and gyms but very basic gyms and pools. The main kid pool is a 10 min drive away from the main hotel.. it does have a splash pad that's cold water and a smaller kid pool 2ft I think but it's basic.. Restaurant are over priced like all hotels so that's whatever.. Now of your into nature and wanna get away and just enjoy life this place can scratch that itch.. I don't care about pools and frills and bullshit, I woke up and walked and hiked and just soaked up the beauty the location had to offer.. Overall my small kids were disappointed, they thought it was going to have more for them, for myself, I came back relaxed and recharged.. I stayed 7 nights. Also plus at night it's dark and very quite..

Ridge course golf: - Well maintained course. - Smooth, consistent greens. - Fairly short, so fairly easy if you stay on the fairway. - Few water hazards. The super long grass rough is the main hazard. And the trees. - Plenty of bunkers and they're in good shape. - Somewhat pricey if you're paying the public rate. Resort guests and owners get a better rate. Resort course golf: My foursome played this course after a round at Ridge so I didn't take it quite as seriously (I'm generally not good for two rounds in one day). That said, the layout and style is different than over at Ridge, so well worth playing. The quality and condition of resort was much the same as at Ridge. Putting course: Located next to the Ridge course. This is a really fun course designed to test your putting skills. A bit like mini-golf except the play is entirely on grass, unless you hit it into one of the many bunkers. - First come, first served. No tee times. - Pay at the pro shop ($11 per person). - Either bring your putter and a golf ball or use the ones provided at the rack on the dining deck next to the pro shop. Remember to get a scorecard.

Very friendly check in here, plus was surprised when we checked in and they had the concierge lady helped us and didn't pressure us to do a owners meeting. The unit we got is really nice, it has two floors with a jetted tub on the 2nd floor. has a nice view of the golf course and of course, full kitchen and washer and dryer. This unit has 2 bedrooms both have bathtubs in them, the main room has a walk-in bathtub next to the jetted tub.

The cart kid asked…read moreme if I knew where I was going...instead of how my day was or anything..,then told me I need to walk around a construction zone to get a cart. Meanwhile he sat in a golf cart and watched me walk all the way around the entire clubhouse back to the range with my clubs. Course is amazing, service was less than stellar. Also ran out of all food at turn service besides hot dogs...thought this was a fancy resort....in prime time June....guess not. The golf course GPS screens were also set to the incorrect pin locations and made me miss club a few times...pretty much needs new management beautiful courses and properties. I'd rather play at Brasada or Crosswater for the amount of money this place charges for the lack of service and experience. The worst part is I truly felt I don't belong, was not wanted there by the staff, from inside the pro shop to outside staff...also $14 for a Gatorade, chips, and M&Ms. Are we in Israel?

Played the Nicklaus course for the first time on a sunny, fairly warm Saturday. One of two courses…read moreon the property - the Fazio being the other - Pronghorn Nicklaus gets rave reviews from Central Oregon golfers. COVID protocols: Only fair. They have the usual mask requirements in the pro shop but don't even attempt to enforce them on customers. Staff wear masks but the snack bar folks aren't so good on wearing them properly. The most egregious failure in this regard was the starter's insistence that golfers riding single in carts pair up because they didn't have enough carts. I was OK because my group was a threesome and I got the second cart. Other area courses seem to have enough carts on hand. Pronghorn is a high end operation - during these times of a pandemic they need to respect social distancing practices and provide more carts. - Richly designed course but with awkward yardages off the tee for short hitters, even from the gold tees, and a lot of hazards. Course plays harder than the rating, I think. This is not a track where high handicappers - particularly short hitters - can hope to score well. - Greens are in good form and roll fast and mostly true. Not as super smooth as I expected but it's early in the season. Some holes cut such that being above the hole meant little chance of stopping it close. - Fairways decent with few bad spots. I thought the grass was cut too short, though. Most of my fairway shots were from a tight lie. - Being in the middle of high desert sagebrush country, that's what you'll find if you stray off the fairway: sagebrush interspersed with lava outcrops. Best to stay out of that. - Quite a few water hazards, including a hole where the stream to the right is hidden from view of the tee box. One par 4 has a huge piece of water between the tee box and the green, tempting long hitters to drive the green. Mere mortals must hit to the fairway on the left, carving out however many yards they think they can carry. - So many bunkers. Way too many bunkers in fact. I think the course is protected well enough from the layout, water and sagebrush rough to not need that many bunkers. Many are quite punitive with high lips. Sand was average for a public course. You won't be able to hit PGA-quality sand shots out of most of them but you can generally get out. - Carts are very nice, electric, onboard GPS (which occasionally erroneously declared I was at the wrong hole), and super comfortable seats. No complimentary tees in the cart - you need to grab them from the starter's box. No complimentary white towels. - Cart path layout is good. Although the course twists around on itself a bit, there are directions signs aplenty. - Beverage cart showed up quite often and it wasn't even that hot of a day. - Complimentary range balls but the range itself is a bit small for a two-course operation, at least as defined by where the range balls were laid out. They could have opened it up more. Same with the practice green and practice bunker. All were a bit crowded. - Slow round - about five hours. I saw not a single marshal on the course during the round. I think the slow pace was due to course difficulty, not slow players. Still, I expect to see a marshal patrolling the course. - Snack bar closed at 3 pm, which is ridiculous, especially on a good weather Saturday. Why only three stars? Price, and unreasonable difficulty. I frankly don't think the golfing experience is any better than at Widgi Creek or Juniper or even Crooked River Ranch. Yet Pronghorn charges way more. The course is also too difficult for me. Golf is one challenge after another, of course, but my round was punctuated by quite a few well-struck shots that still found trouble because of extremely narrow target areas. On several tee boxes, I was faced with no good shot. At one par 5, I had to hit a hybrid off the tee because my driver couldn't carry the sagebrush feature plopped in the middle of the fairway. I can't not hit a driver on a par 5 and hope to avoid a double. That's not a rewarding challenge. 180 yard par 3's from the gold tees are also not welcome. As another reviewer mentioned, Jack Nicklaus prides himself on making golf accessible to the average golfer. He fell short of his goal at Pronghorn Nicklaus.
