They took my dog from my room and lied about it; accused us of smoking when we didn't. I have very conflicting thoughts on Eagle Crest, and I know the resort well. I started coming to Eagle Crest beginning in the 90s. It has been a longtime location of our annual family reunions, as well as work conferences for my dad for many years. We are WorldMark owners, and my brother-in-law used to work for them a long time ago. Eagle Crest is full of nostalgic memories for me. My childhood was filled with hours on bike rides, hiking trails, horseback riding, swimming in the pools, etc. etc. etc. It is an ideal location for family reunions, conferences, golfers, and central Oregon visitors. If I had been only relying on these memories, I would be writing a 5-star review. I am now an adult and attended a work conference at Eagle Crest this past weekend. Although I have been to Eagle Crest 15-20 times throughout my life, this was my first time coming to Eagle Crest in 18 years. They have built lots of new properties and the place looks great. The customer service was awful. I have never traveled with pets before, but found myself in the situation where I needed to bring my two German shepherds with me. I called in advance to tell the lodge of my plans, so they reserved a pet-friendly room. When I arrived at check-in, they said my room wasn't available yet and to come back in 4 hours. I asked about the pet policy and where my dogs were/weren't allowed. They said animals were allowed anywhere except the golf course and the Cafe as long as they're leashed. Upon returning 3 hours later, we were told our room had been ready for quite some time. (They could have called us...) We had brought a XXL-size kennel, which we set up for the dogs. We locked the dogs in the kennel when we left the room for dinner. Over the course of my 2-day stay, I have never had a worse hotel experience. 1) We received a note under the door as a warning that smoking in the room incurs a $200 charge. [We DO NOT smoke indoors, whether in a hotel room or at home. We were confused and angry and do not understand why recieved this notice.] 2) The corner of the bed fell and broke. I called the front desk at noon and requested someone to come look/fix it. I had also hoped they would enter the room as testimony of NO SMOKING happening. No one arrived. No one ever came to fix the bed. 3) We locked the dogs in the kennel and put a Do Not Disturb sign on the door when we left for about 45min to eat dinner. Upon return, one of my dogs was GONE. There was no way possible for my dog to have escaped without a hotel staff member entering my room and letting him out. The doors are extremely heavy and slam if you let go of them. The doors open up into the hotel room. We had closed the door and put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. I was in a panic that my dog was missing from my room. I called the front desk and they initially didn't know what I was talking about. Then they said they had found my dog wondering around the lobby (4 key-entry doors away from my room!!!) and didn't know anything about how he got there. (Which is completely illogical and impossible.) The hotel staff told me I was in violation of the pet policy, but they couldn't hold me accountable for it since they had never showed it to me nor had me sign it. They asked to come down to my room (YES! I had been wanting them to come for hours to fix the bed and verify that we didn't smoke!!) He came down to the room, barely entered, didn't fix the bed, and left. I feel violated, confused, judged, frustrated. This all could have been avoided with some direct communication. I am feeling very distrustful of a place that I had previously always loved. They still did not admit to taking my animal from my room. read more

The bike rental stand requires an adult present which is ridiculous. They are just turning down money apparently. Also the prices for bike rentals are ridiculous. They aren't even that good of bikes you can get better ones at Walmart for less than a rental. Don't recommend the amenities here. We stayed in a beautiful home with many extras. This is our third stay at Eagle Crest, because of the many amenities. During Covid, we were treated rudely when scheduling an appointment to swim in the pool with the splash pad. This time, the lady was not rude, but not warm, and very matter-of-fact. We had a large group, and she wanted to make sure that we knew all the rules before entering (in a not-so-friendly way). On our last night, we got to the in-door pool at 8:10. Pam, who was in charge that night, was very rude to us. She reminded us that they close at 8:45. Looking at my grandson, she reminded us that no one under six is allowed in the hot tubs (he is almost 7). I noticed a sign-in sheet, so I wrote down the names of all of our adults. She asked me rudely if I signed for everyone. No one had told us that each adult needed to sign themselves. She came around a couple of times telling us how much time we had left, and then had us get out of the water at 8:40. She said things like, "you will be climbing the fence to get out if I lock the building". As we were drying off at 8:43 (inside the building), she asked us to move along to the locker room. Again, there were several of us. If she would have been friendly in her communication, we would have taken it much better, but we felt as if we were not welcome to be there. The frustration is that we paid a lot of money to stay in the resort, and to be treated as if we shouldn't be there was very frustrating. We will certainly think hard and long before choosing to stay at Eagle Crest again. read more

Good: Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful resort and grounds. We loved the 5 pools and all the walking trails here. Pet friendly and great for kids. Bad: the room at the lodge was somewhat dirty. Bedsheets were ripped and looked like they had not been cleaned. Food crumbs were left in the kitchen from previous guest. Not sure if they were understaffed or not. Expected a bit more for the price point. read more

We were supposed to there for 3 nights while my husband was at a conference being held at the resort. The grounds were really nice, outside. As soon as you walk in to the lobby, it smells old and musty. Our room wasn't ready until an hour after check in time. Once we got to the room, we couldn't leave fast enough. The carpet had multiple stains and the kitchenette floor was so grimy, your feet slid around (we never took our shoes off if we were moving around). The shower shelf was moldy and rusty. We clocked out first thing in the morning and made the 3 hour drive home. We were so disappointed/disgusted because all we have heard is how nice and fancy this place is...I have actually Googled to make sure we stayed at the same place! Stayed for a week and will not likely return. Fireplace in our suite didn't work, desperately needed spackle and paint throughout and the open door shower in the winter makes showing unbearably cold. Lids provided for paper coffee cups don't seal correctly and you spill hot coffee down your front. Front desk staff loiter and are unprofessional. Restaurants on the property are okay but overpriced. There is shabby chic, and then there is SHABBY. The website states they have recently renovated rooms. Ours was NOT one of those. Missing tile in the restroom, the missing piece to the fireplace, dirty door track, and beyond spooty sliding glass door. When checking in, my husband verified the jacuzzi tub we had reserved from Priceline. At that time, we were told there were NO tubs at all. I understand they are not responsible for what Priceline advertises. Still, a front desk person not helping my husband made sure she put him in his place by pointing out that "they" do not use Priceline while my husband was standing there with a Priceline confirmation. We later find out Priceline affiliates with booking.com. She informed him I could use the hot tub, which I had not brought a bathing suit. VERY disappointed in how run down the room was and the front desk clerk that needed to mind her customer and not belittle my husband. read more

I've stayed in the lodge a couple of times now on company trips. Nice of the company to take us there, and the trips have been enjoyable overall. But I wouldn't choose to go there on my own dime. The lodge rooms are basic, not terrible, and reasonably clean, and the AC works. Basic quick-mart grocery, pretty good deli, coffee shop, and nice restaurant near the lodge and okay snack bar in the lodge. Overall the lodge is decent but nothing to write home about, and I would give it 3 stars but for a couple of things: 1) NO recycling. Or maybe there is but when I asked they directed me to the dumpsters way down at the end of the building. No places to put recyclables in the lobby or the rooms, and the desk clerk didn't even pretend that the maids would do it. So I packed all that up and took it home. Compare that to Inn of the 7th mountain where they promote an environmentally conscious ethos and publish it in their literature. To be fair, 7th mountain doesn't have nearly as many amenities on-site as Eagle Crest does. 2) There's a super nice trail walk down by the river but it can be a little tricky to find even with the trial map that they provide, and there's no signage for the trail. I wouldn't mind that but when I asked the front desk clerk for clarification she was only vaguely aware of the trail, and started to give me directions to drive to some place on the river until I cut her off with "I don't have a car." Maybe I'm nit-picky but it rubs me the wrong way when I ask about a walking trail and they tell me to drive a car. So, minus a star for those things -- I guess if all you're about is golfing you'd like it more than me. read more

The property looks very nice. We stayed in the timeshare area. The rooms were well supplied. But. Air conditioning did not function. Called maintenance. They had no clue. Had to wait till the next afternoon till someone "knowledgeable" showed up. Informed that the thermostat could not be set lower than 72°. Then it would work fine. By late afternoon the temperature downstairs was 78°. Upstairs probably in the 80's. All week. Next. Our neighbor insisted on having his tv on 16 hours a day. Loudly. We called the front desk to complain. They sent someone out a half hour later. He talked to the neighbor. No change. Called the next day again. O change. Called at 10 pm. Threatened to call the police to handle it if they wouldn't. It quieted down a bit. Still went on all week. Just slightly lower. Main problem was paper thin wall connecting the two units. Next. Poor internet. Marginally acceptable downstairs. Barely usable upstairs. In this day and age how hard is it to provide decent internet? Finally. Cheap blinds upstairs and downstairs. About a quarter of them broken. Upstairs let light through so that as soon as the sun was up light flooded the room. About 5 am. Lovely. It would have been nice if someone from the resort would have checked back with us to see if the problems had been resolved to our satisfaction. Won't stay here again. read more

Our 2 bedrooms unit (535) was pretty nice, has everything we needed( the toiletries were missing but were delivered quickly after a call to the front desk). The furnishing was country style, sort of dated but functioning. The front desk also sent someone to help us with TV control after we failed to get it work on our own. The surrounding ground was beautiful! The often visits from the deers was a pleasant treat too! The only 2 complaints we had were the bedding-not comfortable and the toilet plumbing's noise. We wouldn't mind coming back to stay if we visit central Oregon again. read more

Nice property but drastically understaffed. I arrived around mid day on a prime weekend in the fall, and it was a ghost town-- shops, restaurants, all shuttered. They have a 4pm check in time because, in their own words, they don't have the staff to turn rooms around...so not a good place to stay if you have an event to get to on the same day (wedding, etc). I had to rebook due to the unexpectedly late check in time (which was not communicated until I arrived on the property) and management refused to refund me. Sinking ship. Avoid. read more

We stayed one night for a conference and would not choose to return. The hotel room while spacious had a number of deferred maintenance concerns like a old toilet was running non-stop, slow drainage in the tub and sink, poor design with shower wall causes puddling on bathroom floor. The shower stall was mildewy and needs a good scrubbing. At night there was a loud whistling sound that came from bathroom. I suspect it has do with plumbing. We were in a lower unit and there is not enough sound proofing. The outside steps leading to the parking lot look like they have not been swept in months. I think the whole place needs a good scrubbing and updating. read more

Find another place to stay and golf. We decided to spend a golf weekend at Eagle Crest resort with a group of friends traveling from Various states. Friday we played the resort course, with a group of about 7. We had a 1130 t- time check in was awesome and rented 4 golf carts and was quickly on our way. We noticed quickly we weren't keeping up, so we allowed two groups to play ahead. We had one father teaching his son to play which sometimes can cause a delay. ..We were rapidly approached by the "Ranger" not a Marshal.. but a golf ranger by the name of Bill. Ranger Bill was eager to impose we weren't welcome here and vaguely expressed concern we were a problem on the course. We politely asked what we could do to make us day easier and if possible provide us with an example of what we did wrong. This seemed to confuse ranger Bill, and is responses was "Stop having fun"... We felt very upset, and confused. After paying $80 per person, we decided to finish the round, despite ranger Bills efforts to control us. Eagle Crest definitely is for the locals only. Spend the extra to go to Sun River. read more

This resort looks amazing in their photos but it's very worn out in real life. Our room in the lodge had lots of wear!! Ants were along the corners of the room. The walls are paper thin so we heard banging noises all night long. The breakfast restaurant was actually gone in the morning due to some sort of renovation we were never told about. It's no better than your roadside Best Western. Outdated furniture, fixtures, decor. Security "card-access" doors that arent ever locked or don't lock (not sure which). Housekeeping staff that is incredibly loud and obnoxious with their personal conversations when cleaning rooms. No useful amenities attached to the actual lodge (pool, hot tub, etc.), you have to go elsewhere on the property by car for those. My family and I stayed in one of the residence properties for four days. The residence contained 3500 square feet, with a large upper rear deck and six interior rooms. The interior was clean and decorated very nice. The neighborhood was very quiet and the outer view was great. The recreation center was a decent size which contained a racquetball, basketball and fitness center. I wouldn't mind coming back to this place again. I had a great time. read more

We stayed here last weekend and had a fantastic time! The location is beautiful, so is the pool, tennis courts, and the grounds in general. The deer are so friendly that we fed them up close! The gold course wraps in an around the condos and peoples' vacation homes. The chubby ground hogs are so fuzzy and entertaining. The kids loved trying to spot them and then chase them down their burrows. This place is locate next to the beautiful and world famous Deschutes river. Such beautiful scenery and trails to walk along or jog or run. There the other trails thy are paved and nice for cycling. We took our 5 bikes and had several family rides that were very pleasant -the weather was nice so that's always a plus. The mountain views are spectacular. The location is close to Redmond in case you need your groceries, lattes, pantyliners, or whatever else. read more

Resort is misleading. It's more the quality of a motel. The room had no pictures on the wall, like they painted a couple years ago and forgot to put them back up. The bedding and couch are worn out. The TVs are small, wires hanging down, remotes without battery covers. It feels like this place hasn't had any maintenance for a few years. Bike rental is not part of the resort stay, is driving distance away, and is over priced. My daughters back brakes were so worn they didn't work. I switched bikes with her when we realized it, cause it wasn't safe. The best part of my stay was the wildlife. The golf course has a big colony of cute gophers. There's lots of geese and deer. First off- I love to take the time to give an excellent review where one is earned and deserved. Eagle-Crest Resort has the best customer service. Deanna was so helpful and handled a lobby full of people, with phones ringing, very well. I have yet to meet a rude or even semi-snarky employee. Do not book this accommodation. The photos are misleading and inaccurate. This facility is run-down, decrepit and in need of serious attention. I was very disappointed by several issues: - The rooms are outdated and falling apart: There are no outlets near the beds to charge your electronics. The furniture is cracked (night-stand, bed, etc.). Hanged picture frames are crooked. The carpet is worn out. - Comfort: The beds are run down so much that you can feel the springs poking you. Pillows are worn out - it feels like sleeping on used cotton balls. The sheets smell like body odor and smoke. - Cleanliness: The toilet bowl and the area surrounding the toilet had visible stains - unclear if this was due to human excrement or a leak somewhere. Moldy bathtub tiles. - Service: During check-in and check-out, I witnessed staff members on the phone with other clients/guests and they appeared to be frustrated by having to speak with them. They were very nice with me, however, I did not find this to be very professional behavior - even if the person is on the phone and cannot see your facial reactions (ie eye rolling). I brought the aforementioned issues up at check out. This person was very understanding and apologetic and to their credit, they did mention trying to refund the stay, however, stated that it is not feasible due to it being booked online (via hotels.com) . I appreciated this gesture, however, did not expect a refund with this booking as I stayed the two nights that were paid for. I am a very frequent traveler and have stayed at almost the entire spectrum of lodging, value and accommodations available in many parts of the world. Most experiences are fine, some are unpleasant or unsatisfactory, however, none have been as starkly inappropriate as this stay - which is why I am deciding to write a review for the first time. While I take full responsibility for not immediately bringing these matters to the attention of the hotel - this may have given them a chance to address the concerns, I was too exhausted at the end of the long days - as such, I stayed in the room with poor conditions and do not expect any refund or discount. I am writing this review so that the hotel may have constructive points to work on and that future customers are not disappointed in the value that is received after booking this online. In summary, my experience with this accommodation has been very disappointing and I find the state and quality of the room to be unacceptable for both the representation promoted online and the cost of booking this facility. This a beautiful resort with a view of astounding mountains and a well kept golf course. My husband and I attended for a marriage retreat, and were fed and greeted with care. The rooms were very clean and we even had a balcony to ourselves overlooking the golf course. I would stay here again in the future. Check out the putting course, not miniature golf, that you can shuttle from the lobby to play. 18 holes with a diverse landscape. Lots of fun and great for a date with your love. read more

The resort gets worse and worse every year. I have been coming here for 30 years and the quality of service and availability of amenities decreases every year. My parents purchased a time share back in the early 90's. And I have continued to bring my family here unless they extend their hours or quality of employees I will never be as satisfied as I was growing up here as a vacation spot. One example of poor service relates to the sports center and hot tub. The first night we went down to the hot tub. And enjoyed a nice hour in the hot tub. From 8:30 to 9:40 as the pool closed at 9:45 the week of April first. Night two my father and I went down to the sports center to get into the center walked up to the counter to check in. The elderly lady working the counter asked "why we were there" of which my father replied "we are just going to the hot tub for a bit". The time at this moment was 8:34 pm and she said "are your sure cause it closes in 15 min." I responded with "its only 8:30 not 9:30 thinking the pool time was the same as the night before and was then greeted with an unexpected rather rood response of "the pool closes in 15 mins and I'm not going to argue with you guys". I was dumbfounded and caught off guard this response from her definitely ignites a defensive and negative response on my part. I guess she got the attitude she was looking to get from me. Regardless this encounter soured my experience and resorts should never sour customer experiences. read more

I was expecting a lot better. The room on the first floor was so outdated and dirty. I saw a hole in the bathroom ceiling and the baseboard was missing around the shower. I won't be back. The couch and weird chair was so uncomfortable. Front desk didn't seem to ask or care about my stay at checkout . For a "resort", this was way below expectations and will be staying in Bend next visit. read more

A three day room stay surpassed our gloomiest fears, from the desk described "sensitive" door keys repeated failure, the inoperative thermostat (self reporting a "window sensor defect"), the hard slab boards substituting for bedding and furniture, housekeeping scheduled for every four days whether needed or not, a clever deep glass enclosure for the shower head and control ensuring a mandatory cold drenching before engaging water flow, accented by the postage stamp bath rug, an extraordinary child sized toilet providing an aperture precisely positioned between seat and lip for male and female stream delivery to the floor under one's feet, all complemented by the arguably smallest commercially available flat screen tvs on the market, complete with dangling control boxes. The paperboard doors did admit auditory warning of the approach and passage of fellow passengers on this titanic failure of design, accommodation and aesthetics, so security was, you could say, "sound". In 45 years of travel on four continents featuring the third world, this was a remarkable low. Spendy, too. Desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was limited but good and staff delightful. read more

This is a beautiful property with lush greenery everywhere. The staff is very, very friendly. Yesterday I went to the ice machine and it was out of ice. One of the staff noticed me heading back to my room and said we have ice follow me. They had an addition machine behind an unmarked door, he hooked me up!! We had a SUITE on the lower level with a patio overlooking the course. We paid for a suite but this was not a suite by any mean. This was a last minute "get out of Portland" end of summer get away. The Marriott and Hilton's in Bend were full. We had driven through the resort on a prior trip and everything looked so clean and tidy we went ahead and booked a room. We were so disappointed with the conditions in the room, it had been updated somewhat but it was more lipstick on a pig. The toilet was the height of a child's toilet which was very uncomfortable at our age, the shower was nasty and the mini kitchen was just that, a bar sink for a sink. Everything about this resort is 5 star except the rooms. We were going to relax in the sun to end the summer. We had access to all the resort amenities. All the pools were very clean, they offer several hot tubs and even a kiddie pool plus a ginormous splash park. We saw staff checking the chemical levels which made us feel good about being in the pool. read more

I wouldn't stay here. The staff are the rudest, most unhelpful I've ever encountered. Couldn't get into our room. Kept going up there, Jasmine kept saying, the key cards work, while rolling her eyes. Like I don't know how to use a key card. Hours and 5 trips later, and lots of screaming, a somewhat of a maintenance man came down, and realized the keys cards don't work. He then proceed for 10 minutes to lecture me, that I should have known that it was the mechanism in the door. That is not up for me to know that. I have gone up there 5 times. The phone in the room didn't even work, They finally moved us to another room, that smelled like urine. Dog must have peed all over the furniture. Was not worth the fight at this time. No amenities, smallest shampoo/conditioner ever. No slip pad in the tub, carpet is old and seemed so dirty, I did not walk barefoot on it. I definitely would stay somewhere else. Thinking motel 6 might be better...Jasmine needs an attitude adjustment, or a different job. read more

Really disappointed with this place. It is a 2 star hotel at best but we paid $250/night, probably 5 times what it was worth. No place to get drinking water late at night, walked to both ends and all vending machines were empty. Basic room was kinda clean, sparse, just ok. Service was moderate, I asked for extra towels and never got them so we got by with the 2 small rough ones that came in the room. No bike storage so had to squeeze muddy bikes through the room to the deck. No restaurant, but probably just as well. Pool was very crowded. read more
