Called ahead and asked if there was a difference between silver and pewter and how to tell. Owner says well sometimes it's hard bring it in and I'll look at it. I drove over an hour to get there come in, he sees my tub of everything wrapped. Tells me he won't look at anything unless it says sterling and he doesn't have time to look at the items I brought. He talks to another customer on the phone and even tells them he's too busy and to talk to him in person. What a waste of time, horrible service, horrible attitude would never recommend or go back ever. read more

Went in this place a while back to get my grandfathers old gold ring appraised. I wasn't going to sell, I was just curious. This guy looks at me like I'm bothering him (there was no one else there), and sighs like I'm wasting his time. He looks at it and says, "it's not really worth my time", and I replied, I'm not selling it, I just was curious on how much it was worth." This is an excellent example on how not to treat a customer, because what he didn't know was I had about $10k in my pocket to spend on some coins. I enjoy collecting rare coins, but this guy literally talked himself out of a sale because of his attitude. I was more disappointed than anything, as I though I found a new local rare coin place to buy some coins. What a letdown. read more

Richard was delightful, amicable, knowledgeable, and very professional all at the same time. I spent over 3 hours in the store, browsing wheat cents for my collection. He answered all my questions, and, despite being obviously busy, never once became annoyed or flustered with my many amateurish questions. He even offered me some water at one point, and if I was interested in a room for rent (ok, I'm joking about the latter). At the end when I was finally finished with my shopping marathon, he gave me a nice discount. I had brought in several gold coins that I was interested in selling and expecting the kind of poor customer service that I had received from another gold buying store called PMR. Boy was I wrong! Rick took my coins to his nearby desk to check on their value, came back within five minutes, and made me a very fair offer and wrote me a check. PMR treated me like I just crawled in from the gutter, in other words, horrible. Then they made me an insulting offer. PMR stinks! I've been to this shop a couple times to turn in some silver dollars and gold eagles for $$. They are friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and easy to work with. His large screen is always displaying the current prices and then he gives you a quote based on it minus his cut. A company check is written and a receipt accompanies it. What's not to love? As a buyer, every time I've come here, Bruce is always most kind and prompt. The store is clean. There is a bowl of treats for you and a water tank. If you need an Ike or a Susan B., you can trade them out with them for no additional charge. For rarer items like coins and paper currency, they are ALWAYS most fair with their prices, usually far below eBay or book value. As a seller, I've come here twice, and both times they were absolutely fair with their offers. Borderline generous, I might say. Sold them a Silver Eagle for $21 - that was exactly the price of silver...not behind like some others. Anyway, great staff, great fun - go check them out. read more
