It turned out to be a small cancer mass and needed to be removed. All went well, all cancer removed, and he healed well. About 6 months later I noticed he wasn't as perky as usual and seemed uncomfortable a lot of days. Once again we consulted with Dr. Larue, ruled out a few things, and decided that it could be his teeth. After extensive teeth cleaning and several extractions of bad teeth we have our perky, happy, little guy back. It was a rough year for him but he's doing great now. He may be 14 years old but he's still a happy little ball of fluffy excitement. Everyone at the hospital is friendly, helpful and caring from the front desk when we walk in to the well wishes on the way out. This will be our vet for as long as we get with our little George and any furry friends we may get in the future.

Tears were flowing BIG time but the vet was kind and comforting. A family friend, Shannon, happens to work here as well and having her there made all the difference. She spoiled our dog with yummy snacks and loved on her along with the rest of us as we said our goodbyes. You can truly tell how much the employees here love animals. Although I wish this appointment never had to happen, it went as well as it possibly could have. Once all was said and done, we never felt rushed out of the room. We sat and shared stories, gave our girl love, and cried some more. Shannon was very generous and gave us each a little bag filled with fur. One of the more unsettling parts of losing a pet is leaving them behind for the final time, but everyone assured us that even though she had passed, our dog would not be left in the room alone. They took great care of her and us. I never want this day to come with our other pets, but when it does, I feel good knowing the team here will handle it with just as much love and care.

I believe it is because he is getting ready to retire so he has stopped truly caring about the pets he is treating. I contacted the clinic yesterday and was told in order to talk to the Dr. I had to have a phone appt. It was $85, I talked to the vet for 5 minutes. He prescribed 4 anti anxiety pills for my dog that is injured, has not eaten or drank anything for 5 days and can't walk. I can't get a leash on him as he is partially feral. Vet said one pill will knock him out. No, over 7 hours I gave him all 4 pills because he was having no response to the drugs. When I called later to talk to the vet and maybe have him prescribe something stronger, he wouldn't call me and just had the receptionist call me. She said "he will not give you any more medications and to call Animal Control". What? No, Animal Control is not responsible for picking up owners dogs. Never has been and never will be. I am not sure why the vet did not know this since he is/was a vet. May I say 'duh'? When I told the inexperienced and horribly rude person on the phone I would not be back, she hung up on me. I did not cuss and did not yell so why? I have given this vet at least $2000 this year alone and that was just for 2 teeth cleanings on tiny dogs. If you go to this clinic, this situation is going to happen to you and your pet/pets eventually. There are at least 3 other vets in the immediate area. I won't be going back there. Ever.

I had a Jack Russell pup who needed puppy vx. I chose this vet because she states she is also a…read moreholistic vet, and the breeder was following holistic treatments. The breeder was strict in what vaccines were given or the pups health guarantee was null and void. It was Dr Dodd's recommendations, and it's due to animals receiving too many vx that aren't needed. That said, first thing I gave this vet a copy of these recommendations and said that I had to follow them or the health guarantee was null and void. The vx to be given were distemper/parvo. Well, she had a combo parvo/corona shot, not separate. So right off the bat the pup was getting corona vx and it was on the list of vx not needed. Plus it was very pricey for a pups first visit. Let me add that I once was a vet tech for many years, and it has been in the news lately that animals have been over vaccinated due to drug company recommendations, but come to find through studies, animals need to be boostered much less. Second visit should have been pretty cheap, just a distemper, parvo corona booster...right? Nope! It was another full exam, Lepto, and the DPC. Did they not look in the chart at all, because he wasn't to have Lepto! The tech was sent out to the car to upsell their products...this was during Covid. I reminded them that I had given them paperwork stating he was not to have Lepto, and yet they gave it anyway. Plus, who charges for a full exam for a pup they saw 3 wks before? I paid and left. Last visit, rabies only. Yeah, no. I was charged for another full exam, and a rabies which came out to over $100. Really? It was only a one year vx too. She didn't offer the 3 yr vx. That's to get you in yearly so they can upsell you. . After the tech was sent out to upsell and tell me he needed his Lepto booster I thought this vet is more worried about getting the upsell than reading, and noting why the booster was denied last visit. Sadly I had to tell the tech that he wasn't supposed to be vaccinated for the Lepto in the first place, so no to the booster. She came out later with my bill. At the beginning of the visit the tech said it should be a quick visit since he only needed a rabies vx. Shot only...right? My bill was over $100 again! A full exam again! She just saw him a few weeks ago, he wasn't I'll, he didn't need a full exam. I told the tech I did not ok the exam. She thought by law you needed an exam before you give the rabies...that may be, so I had to let it go. Anyway, she went inside and got $35 knocked off. The tech was very nice, and I was sorry to have to be anything but happy towards her. It wasn't her, it was the whole lack of going through the chart and refreshing your memory about your patient. Now let me add that I am now a RN, and though I do not expect the vet to be as stringent as your medical doctor, I do expect her to have glanced at the copies of Dr Dodd's recommendations that I made for her and for her to adjust the vx she gives accordingly. I usually go to a VCA clinic, but I thought this would be less chain store, and I have to admit, cheaper. It was mainly the holistic aspect that made me look in the first place. I will not be back. It was too frustrating. I gave 2 stars because the techs were very nice. I won't be back and I can't recommend. Plus, I don't believe she does surgeries, so you would have to find another doc if you needed a pet sprayed or neutered. I'm glad I tried this place because I won't be wondering if they are good or not. A definite no.
