I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. Extremely disappointed with him and his lack of response.

After being referred to Armando Moreno by our friend/real estate agent (whom we sincerely trust), we contracted him to paint the entire apartment (top to bottom, bathrooms, hallways, closets, ceilings, everything) and sand/refinish the wood floors. He gave us a VERY competitive price (we got quotes from a few other local contractors) and he assured my wife and I would be very pleased at the end. After 6 days, he had the entire place DONE. The apartment looks BRAND NEW. No exaggeration...it literally looks like a new apartment. We didn't expect the floors to look much different than before, but the wood looks brand new now. I wish I took a "before/after" photo to compare. Armando, his sons, and his team were so meticulous with the entire job. Armando told me he loves what he does and it realllly shows in his work. Also, we decided on a price for the work. They ripped up the carpet and it turns out that the floors underneath were polished and spotless. Paul, however did not say a word about possibly NOT re-sanding them and just keeping them as is because they were literally immaculate. I assumed positive intent and went ahead with letting them continue with the work we decided on - stupid on my part. Tuesday, they completed the sanding however all the rooms upstairs including the bathroom were absolutely filthy with sanding dust. This happened because all the doors were improperly taped up. The sides of my stairs are still tough and rugged to this day. My floors are hardly shiny. They did this work in September, 2014. The sides and corners are very sloppy. Don't waste your time with these people! Not honest and super shady!
