I called Duane and he was very quick to respond to me and was very helpful. He quoted me a very reasoble prices. So, definitely some communications issue over the phone but in person Duane is very helpful. He was able to quickly open my car door lock which had jammed and was able to provide a 2nd key fob at a much better price than Toyota, about half as much. He also lent me his jumper cable to help start my car which had a bum battery. Was raining that day and he just powered through it like nothing. The reason I'm giving him the rating I am is because the 2nd key fob he sold us died a month later. When I called about getting it replaced he presumed I wanted to pay him to do so, and suggested I just do it myself because it was cheaper. If the battery had died next year (or ideally many years later) then that would have been very nice advice, but since I had practically just bought it from him, I expected that he would replace it for free, as really, a fresh battery should have been used from the get-go. I don't know how I managed to lock my keys and the cell phone inside my car but I did. I use my Bluetooth to call the local locksmith. Some companies give you a $25 service call and when they get there it will tell you how much it will cost, For me that's a complete scam. How come they cannot give you the price when you tell him you have a Ford Econoline I think the doors of ford are all the same. When I called Eagle lock and key the, guy on the phone gave me a price of $45 to unlock my car, he showed up within 15 minutes and it took him about 10 seconds to open my car. I bought a replacement key cylinder for my Honda Accord drivers side door and needed a locksmith to fit my old keys in my new lock. The other locksmiths I called were too busy or were honest and said they weren't that comfortable with automobile keys. Duane was available, and even said he would be able to put my door back together for an additional charge. I should have called around and done more research, but I was anxious to have my car up and running again. Two things that I have no problem with: he showed up right when he said he'd be there, and he re-keyed all three of my keys just fine. If you just need a locksmith, and you're okay with awkward interactions, you may as well call this guy. But when it got to my car door, I lost my patience very quickly. He didn't seem to know what he was doing, but wasn't comfortable telling me that. I had helped my boyfriend take the car door off, so I knew some of the plastic pieces had chipped off. My automatic locks haven't worked in years, and I also knew that, and had told him all of this up front. He was fixated on the broken pieces, and kept saying he didn't know where one of the rods went. Interacting with him was like talking to a five year old, and after three hours I just wanted him gone. I had to repeatedly ask if he wanted to keep going, or if he wanted to stop so my boyfriend could take over. He eventually put the thing back together, after I was ready to pull my hair out. The door and all three keys worked, so I told him to go. He mentioned he hadn't attached the rod on both ends, but since it worked, I was just going to have someone else look at it. I wanted this awkward man gone. When I went to get in my car that night, the lock no longer worked. I had to pay someone else to fix his ineptitude. The rod wasn't broken, but when I called him to ask for my money back (for the labor, not the re-keying), he insisted it was broken and there was nothing else he could have done. I don't normally write nasty reviews, but I gave him a chance to make it right, and he didn't. He said he could put my door back together, but he didn't do it properly. My (professional) mechanic made absolutely no mention of the chipped plastic piece on the rod, as it wasn't totally necessary. This guy wasted an afternoon I could have been getting it fixed by someone who knew what they were doing, and argued with me when I called him out on it. Eventually I gave up and hung up the phone. What a waste of time, money, and energy. read more

Got locked out of my house taking out the trash..oh darn! I have "a system" to get back in but it failed, human error. Double darn! Luckily my neighbor was home to use a phone. Called one place and they were on a call, couldn't come for another 1 1/2 hours..Yelped and saw this place, called and they were available much sooner, in 30 minutes. They came in 20! I would suggest not using them if you have a choice. I got them through my insurance company when the plastic part of my key broke leaving the remainder in the ignition. I just needed a little strength and pliers to turn the key and pull it out. My insurance said they would cover the travel cost of a locksmith but I would need to pay cost of the service that could be $145 - $300. The locksmith turned up pulled the key out in 2 minutes with pliers and called his office to ask the cost. He was told $150 for this and although I tried to reason with Doug in the office he told me that was the quote and that I was lucky that it didn't cost more and fortunate that the insurance covered the travel cost. Doug proceeded to tell me that a Lexus Dealer would have charged hundreds to remove the key. The locksmith who I believe was Duane said that although they quote flat rates for their services if they had to work on the key for longer I would have been charged more. So I'm not really sure how they they charge although Duane stated that he charges whatever Doug tells him to. I would avoid and I am surprised at the lack of customer service. read more

All I can say about Duane is wow! I wanted to avoid the cost of a dealer replacing my key for my car. To cut and program the key, the dealer wanted $280. My husband ordered a blank key from Ebay for about $40. Duane was prompt and professional. He went above and beyond in not only cutting the key to code but programming it too. He had to erase all prior key data which took a little extra time but he was very focused in getting the job done correctly. He not only cut and programmed the key, but programmed the buttons on the key (lock, unlock and panic). He had to try it about 4 - 5 times but the car was dead (did I mention he helped me jump the car? ) overall his service was exceptional and if I ever need another locksmith I'll be calling Duane.
