Around December, I received a generic Mercedes key fob without the logo, which was completely fine with me. However, the center piece repeatedly falls off, and the key itself has intermittently failed, requiring me to carry my original Mercedes key as a backup. I had planned to replace the car soon, so initially I didn't want to make an issue of it. However, I'm keeping the car longer than expected, and the recurring key problems have become genuinely frustrating--especially because the same center piece continues to fall off. **I don't want to complain or ask for yet another replacement. My concern is simply understanding why these replacement fobs seem to have both a reliability issue and a recurring problem with the center piece falling off.** The customer service is truly wonderful; I just wish the product quality matched it.

So I did a little searching online and found out that replacing a Prius key fob is expensive as hell! And it involves a locksmith who can cut the key and program the remote control to work with my specific vehicle. So I submitted a request on Yelp and got responses from several locksmiths including Continental locks. The price they quoted was about the lowest I received, around $200. And the locksmith was available to come out the same day so I went ahead and took a chance. Very glad I did! He worked very carefully for about 45 minutes or so and got a brand new key fob and spare door key cut that work perfectly in my vehicle. No more worrying about losing the original key fob! Highly recommend Continental locks and the locksmith was friendly and personable and responsive to text messages.

This house has many doorknobs and he was able to match the key for the new door knobs with existing keys. He did the job quickly and expertly. He was friendly, but focused on the task at hand. Fran did everything I asked and sent me the very reasonable and fair bill via email. I was able to pay via Zelle or Venmo, which made it very easy.

After everything was setup and turned on, we had a small issue I discovered on Friday evening. I reached out saying let's plan to fix it and Hani immediately replied that he would be out the next day (Saturday) to get it resolved! I met Paul Adams, of Adams Locksmithing, at the local postal annex and took his number for future use since I had just moved to downtown La Mesa. Not two days later, my two young children and I got locked out of our new house. Instead of awaiting my landlord for over an hour, I called Adams Locksmithing on a Sunday morning and asked if anyone could come over and help me get into my house. Paul told me he left church to come straight over and arrived within 15 minutes.He was so friendly and helpful with my curious son who called him a "lock scientist"! Paul was done within five minutes, no damage done, and offered to replace my strike plates so that my craftsman cottage wouldn't get broken into in the future. The incredible generosity, speed and availability on a Sunday with his family, has made this local business top on my list! read more

Paul saved me and kept my family safe! After one of my complex door locks broke, I took it apart to try and fix it myself. I then took another 'working' door lock apart to use as a reference, and of course broke them both. These locks were interior/exterior doors at my home so my safety was compromised. Paul was referred to me by a trusted GC and he arrived at my house within an hour or two. Both locks were fancy brands and highly complex, but he went on to install new parts necessary for both doors and my home was secure again. I was very pleased. Then only a few months later, I had a small problem with one of the doors and Paul came out promptly to fix it, AT NO CHARGE! Paul is clearly an expert in this space.
