These girls know about beer, and it was so refreshing to see women run the place because every other growler shop I have been to have been all-male staff. One thing I am not a huge fan of is the fact that we had to pay for samples. I haven't had to do that at other growler type shops. Now this area you can go and put money on a card and it will dispense wine for you in certain intervals. Usually like between 1 oz and 3 oz maybe. But this is a good way to see if you like something before you buy it. Now they have at least six to eight bottles in each dispenser, and they have three different dispensers. So you have wine all across the board that you can try. If you are a penal noir or a Chardonnay fan, you can find something. They actually change the wines every time. Another wine is out so if you go on a Tuesday and then go on a Friday you'll definitely find different wine selections. The card is good for whenever you come, so you can just keep money on it if you want to keep trying wines. This is a good way to get your collection going. They have a couple of other things too, like some THC drinks as well so they have a little bit for everybody. They do not have liquor so outside of that, is definitely worth a shot! It's a smaller store but the selection has something for everyone. The standard beers, wines and spirits are there along with higher end items that I have never seen before. We usually pay an entry fee, and then have to buy tickets/tokens for tasting the different beers that are available. Not for Roswell Beer Festival! You pay one entry fee (proceeds go to the STAR House Foundation), and then it's all you can drink until the festival is over. I'm not sure how many tables they had set up (at least 30-40), but they were all organized by style of beer... so there's a cider section, a porter section, a pale ale section, etc. What a great idea! I have never attended a beer festival (and I've been to many) that had this setup. I loved it! If I was in the mood for an IPA, wander over to the IPA section. If I wanted a stout, head on over to the stout tables. So easy! I purposefully had eaten prior to the festival, but walking by the food offerings they had on offer smelled so good! I saw some folks' vittles, and was slightly sad that I had no appetite. I more than made up for it with the many delicious beers they had available. ;) I would definitely attend the Roswell Beer Festival again.
