I heard some good things about this Cafe and I was in the area and decided to check it out. I got the turbinado. It's an iced brown sugar shaken espresso. It tasted great. The baristas were really nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside has a cute cozy feel to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Only thing is parking is very much a pain. It has a small parking lot that fits maybe 6 cars otherwise it's just street parking. I wanted to come in to get work done but since I could only put my car in the 15 minute parking spot in the front, I just took my drink to go. Stopped by this cozy lil spot for an afternoon coffee. Pleasantly surprised! Jason, the barista, made each cup with love. I decided to have a caramel macchiato with almond milk. This place is awesome! It's a cafe/co-working space; perfect for grabbing a coffee and getting work done in a fairly quiet environment. There is a variety of seating from desks to tables to couches. The place can probably fit 10-15 people before it starts to get too cramped, so I definitely recommend coming early if you plan to spend a good portion of the day here. I found free parking on the street as it is near a residential neighborhood but it is also right off a main road with meters. The Lavender Latte was soothing, floral, and lightly sweet. I really enjoyed the Chocolate Croissant, as well, but it is super small. I wish they had more breakfast options rather than just baked items, but that's just me being picky. This place has a cool vibe for getting work done. I have been trying to check out coffee shops near me and was finally able to swing by. The Chai Latte was very good and I think a large costs about $4.00 which isn't bad in my opinion for the area. I also like that pastries go half off after 2pm. I want to give this place five stars, but for me, something is missing from the experience. There are a lot of real unique cafes in this area and even though I like this place, I don't know if I would go out of my way to come back. The layout of the inside is lots of different rooms and when I went, it felt like customers had already setup shop and you couldn't share the same space even though it is a shared space. It was kind of weird. They do have outdoor seating which I love. The menu is a decent size and the drink was good and it was priced right. The pastry for me was just okay. Tucked just off Bellevue Ave is this gem of a coffee house. Just follow the stream of people making a beeline to the stairs (side entrance through a tiny parking lot only). Like the Pied Piper you'll be inexplicably drawn in. Your first impression may be, "Hey, this looks like my cottage on the Cape!" Consisting of small rooms, think bedrooms and dining rooms, you may not get a seat. Fortunately there is outdoor seating and my favorite is the lone rocking chair on the porch (don't you dare take it!) The barista is chill and friendly. If the apocalypse was happening while you're ordering a latte, he'd still brew it up with the hey-how's-it-going vibe. It's a great place to bring your laptop and work. There are wooden tables, bar stools, and couches in different rooms. The coffee here is okay...I got the Mexican Oatmilk cold brew over ice. I asked for it to be subtlety sweet. There was too much oatmilk, it drowned out the cold brew taste of the coffee and too much cocoa powder. It made for a dry tasting oatmilk with some chocolate. I will say this did taste better as I got to the bottom of the cup, probably where all the sweetness was. (agave and hot chocolate) I did ask for it to be subtly sweet so maybe my fault but I found almost no sweetness until you hit the bottom. To the credit of the barista he said he would remake it for me if it was too sweet, I didn't want to ask for it to be remade so I stuck with it. The barista nice and friendly! I got a croissant here. It was definitely on the small side..small baby croissant haha. Very moist but not flaky enough. It definitely needed more butter. Man if they could up their coffee game, I would be back here in a heart beat. I loved the ambiance. I got so much work done here! Outlets everywhere! For my second beverage, I got the matcha latte - not great. Powdery again, too heavy handed with the matcha and too much oatmilk. The balance was off. I ordered a flat white, strong and full of flavor. The foam was present. Perfect for a fall moon coffee on your way out from volunteer and running training. Will recommended for one of those coffee dates as well as a place to catch up with an old friend or even an informational meeting. They have pastries. On a quick glance most of them look as they are vegan friendly. Sadly, they didn't had biscotti. The coffee that they used is from intelligentsia at the time me drinking the coffee. I teetered on 4 and 5 stars because as a stand-alone cafe, there is nothing to dislike about Eagle Rock but they just have so much stiff competition in Montclair (especially with La Fontaine which is still the best coffee shop in Montclair in my opinion.) But I still give Eagle Rock 5/5 stars because they have excellent coffee and some delicious flavors (although not an extensive latte selection) and they're located in a completely different part of town than the other shops (which is quite a lovely location!) They have a beautifully simple interior with tons of natural lighting that makes you feel at home, and the folks that work behind the counter are friendly and a good reason to keep going back. read more

This was my first time checking this place out, and for a Sunday morning, it was busier than I thought it'd be, so I imagine it can be hard to find a spot to work if you don't get there early. I came to this cafe to get some work done. From where I was sitting there was not many outlets available, but I personally don't own the long Mac cord so that could be it too. I ordered an iced coffee with oat milk and that was refreshing. I recommend anyone to try it with oat milk. However, there isn't much seating so don't be discouraged if there isn't a place to sit. Even though they sell caffeine, this is the nicest most relaxed crew. I believe it's a husband and wife team that make the drinks. Two of the nicest people you'll meet. The space is not currently open for sitting in (because of Covid) but if you were going to get some work done in a coffee shop, this is the one to do it in.
