The way they serve the food and set up the store makes it very welcoming for someone who's been on the road for a while. They had nice refreshments, specialty cookies, little sandwiches, and plenty of options to grab a quick bite or a snack. It wasn't fancy, but it was comfortable, kind, and exactly the right vibe for a road stop. For being "just what I needed" at the right time, I'm giving Stewart's Shops 5 stars.

The deli counter staff are always good to deal with and know their stuff. They carry Boar's Head meats along with a lot of other of their own items. Highlights from their offerings: The grated pecorino-romano cheese is TOP NOTCH and should not be missed. The tomato pie is top 3 in Utica no question. The italian bread is very good, though it can be hard to eat a whole loaf before it starts to go bad....a good problem to have. They have two locations - one in Utica and one in Washington Mills. This review is based on the Washington Mills location, but the Utica location is very similar. Be warned, if you are looking for a sub, they do not make them here. You'll be making your own at home.
