However his family before him ran the place and it never rose like that and they ran it that time of the year for many more days. I explained that the crust was way too thick and was dried up. With his excuse of it being too humid is just that an excuse. My third time in three weeks now has been this way . No I'm sorry or please try us again . Zero people skills. I'm giving them a 4.5 star review really (but they don't give half stars on Yelp). They'd get a perfect five if they had a toaster for the spinach pie because my pet peeve is microwaved bread products. We had them cold and they were delicious so no loss there though! I also didn't see any pita which I do think the dips should have come with because next time we may not get the pies or have any on hand at home to use. I could be wrong though. They are a convenience store which sells the usual convenience store items and the setting is not fancy so don't go expecting frills. The owners are super nice though and I think it's family run. The counter is in back and you go get your stuff to go. They also seem to sell subs, party platters and have daily lunch specials but we weren't going in for that so can't review.

Always fresh bread, topping and meat selection is perhaps limited but top notch and generously applied. Like any quality sandwich shop the portions are incredible. I get a small roast beef for lunch and have trouble finishing it, a medium is bigger than most larges and I can't even imagine what a large looks like. The one quirk I can say is they do tend to run out of certain meats some days but I take that as a testament to how busy they are. On days where they are out of roast beef I roll with turkey with no regrets, everything these guys make tastes great. The help is always very friendly, albeit very casual, be prepared to have your balls busted just a bit, but that is exactly what I'm looking for at a place like Mello's, simple delicious food with a bit of personality. I've had lunch from this place countless times, at least 20, and have never been disappointed in the least. As a self professed sandwich snob I gladly stake my reputation on this place, if you like great subs no frills you will love this joint.
