That portfolio alone is worth visiting just to see what what they started with and what they transformed it into. Matt is a phenomenal painter and does some of the most intricate portrait work I have ever seen. Ever seen a bad portrait someone has butchered on someone's skin? Matt's work will simply amaze you at the way he captures the human (and sometimes inhuman) face. You have to see his work to believe it. Jamison is the up and coming artist in the studio who learning from two of the best. His work definitely shows he's paying attention. He has a long and prosperous career ahead of him. Both Matt and Johnny are completing my full sleeves. I couldn't imagine a better place to get my work done. The shop is a showcase of talent. Henri is an incredible artist, I'd describe his work to be a fusion of Oriental, traditional and almost a watercolor aesthetic. I've never been worked on by Joe Budz, the owner, but I've seen his work and its very well done. The shop itself is clean and organized and completely welcoming. I highly recommend Seven Gates to anyone who wants a quality tattoo or piercing.

I know of a few people that attend my church who have gotten work done by Joe Budz the owner and Cory another artist at the shop, they have been very happy with the work they had done. I was told about Henri while looking for someone to do my Japanese dragon and people all around said to see Henri. Even when I was in the shop the guys working there said Henri was the guy to be doing my tatt, because Henri loves the Asian styles. Henri is working on my calf. He fixed and colored a previous outline of a dragon that was incomplete. Now colored Henri is working of the rest of my calf turning it into a Japanese "sock" with koi and yet to be determined Japanese motif. I am looking forward to the completion which should be another 2 or 3 visits. I will update as it progresses.
