The Jailer's Inn also sits in the perfect spot for walking the town such as right next door to the Historic Old Talbott Tavern, 1/2 block to Court square with many nearby restaurants, shops & Bourbon Tasting Rooms. We met the couple who was renting "The Jail Cell" & they gave us a quick tour, although slightly small we really liked it & will probably stay there next time. Overall a terrific experience & we will absolutely stay here again next time we find ourselves in beautiful Bardstown Ky.

One evening several of us sat in the lobby area and played cards for a couple hours and no one bothered us. I will definitely stay at this location again if we are in the Lexington/Louisville area. Being right on I64 in the middle made it super convenient for either direction.

The hotel is so under construction that you cannot even go to breakfast without going outside and coming back in. And don't ask for hot eggs or a protein. There are no sausage patties, sausage links, or bacon. After one night, no one even cleaned our room. Either room. We do know they enter the room because they took the trolley cart outside of our room. But no maid service. The first morning we are woke by the fire suppression system going off and people banging on our doors to get out. Not only once but twice. Then on the second morning after asking if the laundry washer/dryer were OK proceeded to do laundry to find out they were not properly working and our clothes are sitting in muck. While they trust the Hilton name, I will never be staying at a Spahr again and much of this could've been avoided if it was properly handled by employees. Let your customers know that you are under construction, be attentive to the details and make sure staff are cleaning rooms properly. For now this hotel is on fire. It's not a spark. It's a full-blown inferno.

This place was an old cotton mill that they redesigned into a vintage yet elegant Fairfield (they probably could have/should have made it a JW, it's that nice). The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the location is perfect... Situated right on the river with great scenic views and a short 5 minute walk to all the excellent restaurants and watering holes on Main St that Madison has to offer. If coming through town for work or for leisure, this Fairfield Inn is the place to stay.

I loved the inclusion of locally made goods, like: the hand soap, chocolate truffles, and coffee they had available in the room. It was quiet and peaceful and a quick walk to Main Street. I loved learning about the history of the building and seeing old photos too. They also had a sound machine, which came in handy for us since I forgot the one my toddler sleeps with. You do have to make sure to memorize your key code or bring your phone everywhere (which most people do all the time). The lobby is key code access too and I almost got locked out once - whoops! We would be happy to stay here again and I'm sure we will be back someday!

It's also very close to a nice (not kidding!) Dollar General Market that is very handy for all those things I always forget to take on a trip. The Chandler is yet another reason to visit Madison. We are already looking forward to our next stay. Their practice of not having an employee who customers meet face-to-face and instead using text/email for entrance instructions is probably off-putting for some (it initially was for me), but their system works just fine. I encourage you to not be intimidated by it.
