Wow! This place can get really busy on a Saturday afternoon. I took my 5 year old to get out some of his energy out but at the same time he can be pretty timid around lots of other kids and bigger kids. There is a cute toddler section that is for 3 and younger. Not a ton of options but plenty of room to run around. The other area is for any older kids, lots of climbing areas that lead to slides and other fun things to do but on weekends it can get pretty loud with kids screaming or running into you. On this particular day there was also 8 bday parties going on (not at the same time). After getting a little headache from the high pitched screams we left and on our way out noticed that they didn't allow any more new purchases for the play area. It's $8 by the way for the kiddos. It's alright , kind of dark , not that big so space is limited, if you come when the place is busy, you're probably not going to be able to go inside (waste of time showing up , since there's no time limit , it could be full all day). It's a ok place to get out of the cold . Plus the place for shoes and coats are even smaller . They do have vending machine . Took a 2 year old on a Wednesday night. Wasn't too busy. I do imagine when it's busy there's not much room for everyone. Parents and kids have to take shoes off and masks must be worn. There's a small toddler area that is spacious for kids to play in. My 2 year old enjoyed it but went to the bigger kids section. Lots to climb thru which he loved. I'm torn about this joint. Its a really neat place to keep kids busy for hours. It was a bit too wild for our 2 year old but he was underwhelmed with the 3 and under area. Visiting on a Sunday in winter and it was crazy. There are kids running all over the place- frankly it seems dangerous. About 75% of kids in masks. My aunt lives nearby and kept saying we needed to take the kids here.... so we did. We don't live in this area and are not members, but the cost was so minimal and the kids had a blast playing in the eagle's nest. I understand it is being renovated so I can only assume it will be even better when it re-opens. They had a huge area for "bigger" kids and a separate area for little ones. They had plenty of chairs for adults to sit in too. There was a few teens that were getting way too rough, especially in the ball pit. That was not so great since they had no parents and no regard for anyone else. But overall this place was definitely worth a stop. read more

I put together a birthday party for my very active 6 year old sister, and it was wonderful! The staff were incredibly helpful, the playground area and gym were clean and entertaining, and the bathrooms were very clean and even actually smelled nice! I ordered the no frills package, but I booked a total of four hours since I didn't think two would be enough. That was a great choice on my part! I found this place online when looking for a place to take my nephew who is 6. The Eagle's Nest Indoor Playground is the area that we have always gone to there. Cost - $5 - heck there is very little in this world that you can do with a 5 year old that inexpensively. Loved it. Great value for sure. Play away! My nephew has an absolute blast there. The only thing that I don't care for is their ball pit. The entrance is only accessible by the children (the oldest maybe being 12, it's tight). There is no limit on the number of children and the children are often way over excited and nearing slam wrestling each other. There are always the adults outside of that area (me included) telling the kids to get out, settle down or stop this or that. There was no access to get in there, kids are often crying and this is by no means a staffed area. I try with all my might to make sure my nephew doesn't get in there. I wished they would either make this area accessible for adults, staff it with someone who wants to do crowd control or just shut it down. Under 3? There is a quieter area for the littler ones to play. It is very dear and sweet. They have a ball pit in there too but you can grab at the kids if they start playing too rough. There are areas to read to the children and just have a quieter experience. In general, I am happy to take him back there when he wants. I have seen birthday parties there, I would imagine that is great fun. Oh, and the other thing, the way the indoor area is set up, there is only 1 exit so as long as you find a good spot to see the exit, they are not able to escape without you knowing about :) read more

First time at EN and it has good and bad just like anywhere. Good: reasonable fee; huge toddler area (esp compared to Edina's Edinborough Park); bldg also has gym, library, and such if you want to mix it up. Bad: older kids constantly in toddler-only area (Am I supposed to be the A-hole that tells them to leave? Area should be monitored by employees every now and then.); the once rubbery floor mats now hard as a rock; showing its age. I will rtn, but make a point to leave before school lets out. Stopped in on a cold and wet day over winter break. Lots of kids here today, but it's still pretty fun. Huge indoor climbing structure. Slides, ball pits, tunnels and swinging ropes and things to climb. Lots of energy being burned right now! That said, it is pretty loud. Not sure that this would be the best choice for smaller kids. They do have a toddler area, but it's small. Also, once your kid climbs up into the structure, it's hard to keep track of them. My kid is 6 and she's loving this place. $6 entry per kid. We were traveling in Minnesota and looking for something for our 2 y/o on a raining morning. Found this place on Yelp. It was amazing! It kept our son busy for hours. He slept so good on his nap that day, haha. There was a baby/toddler area and also bigger kid areas. The only negative was that it was super crowded and he got trampled on a few times by bigger kids, which is to be expected. We also enjoyed the big gymnasium area and family bathrooms. We used to live down the street-before babies and the Eagles Nest indoor playground was on the horizon. HOWEVER-this was an awesome gym-and very cheapl After my HealthPartners discount it was about twenty cents a month! So now we don't live two minutes away, but it's still a great place to meet up with other friends that I have with children. The kids can play and we can talk...which is the best kind of a playdate....We've had pizza delivered before, or you can pack a lunch, both ways work, and there's plenty of places to sit. No snack bar, but they have vending machines with ice cream, candy, and pop. A couple days a week they have the gym sequestered off for 3-5 year olds to use scooters/jumping house/etc and sometimes I think they have a craft for a buck. It gets really crowded, but if you come in the evening you get a discount and there's more room for the kids to play. read more

It is a paid community center which I'm not sure but the staff has made no effort to check *the eagle nest area* or *the gym*. This is my kids and I go to place since we live in New Brighton. We visit the library often. It's small (which I like so I can keep a close eye on my kids) but has books, puzzles, toys, games and story-times on Thursdays and Fridays. They are closed on Sunday and Monday. Monday being closed is my only complaint about the library. The Eagle's Nest is a fun indoor playground to let the kids get all the wiggles out. This place is for kids about 10 and under (I don't know if this is the official EN age limit since I've seen children who look older then that there). There is an area for babies/toddlers which is great but unfortunately you often find older kids there. Older kids have an area as well. The only complaint I have with that area is the ball pit. To many kids at times. I'd like EN more if staff took time to check the areas out every 30-60minutes to make sure kids stay in the appropriate areas as well as man the ball pit. The gym opens a couple days a week, Monday and Wednesday, to toddlers/preschoolers which has a bounce house and other fun activities which is all included for the $5.50 price of the wristband for EN. Keep in mind, EN can get super busy on the weekends and sometimes weekdays after 5pm. There is a place to workout upstairs, which I'd join if daycare was included but unfortunately it's not. My friend has taken a Zumba class there and really liked it. There is often craft-shows or other types of public events which are always fun to check out. read more

I hear they have something other than the Eagle's Nest but this review is Eagle's Nest only. They have a very large three and under area that is well contained and actually has toys that young children would enjoy. This area also has ample parent seating and a large wall of windows so you can enjoy the sun without the cold. The older child climbing area has multiple ways up and slides allowing for varying skill levels. On the right route my 18 month old can do it. My three year old can handle all paths. Children probably age out of the challenge around seven or so based on the average customer age. The climbing paths are large enough that parents frequently go up to help their children without suffering claustrophobia or getting stuck. Bring your own lunch because there's nothing much here. They do have vending machines but it's the basic chips and chocolate fare. Nothing substantial. Parking is close and adequate. Frequent visitors might want to get the prepay card. Buy ten entries and you'll get two free (a total of 12 for $50). These can be spread over multiple children so one card can be used by multiple family members. read more

I'm specifically reviewing the Eagle's Nest Indoor Play area with this review--$5.50 let's your kiddo play in one of two activity areas (a place for the big-kids and a place for toddlers). My 2 year old is now less excited about the little-kid area and we're not quite comfortable with him exploring the big-kid area on his own--but the toddler area was a much needed activity space for him when he was younger. It is lit by natural light and has a number of spaces for toddlers to explore. The space for the toddler's is surrounded by benches for parents. No real negatives aside from it getting crowded at times or when older kiddos play in the toddler ares (most are careful not to push around the littles, others do so without realizing it). :) read more
