I really love Bunker Beach, but it's not for everyone. Yep, it's $$$. I think it's worth it. You probably have to arrive at opening to get a chair. We just put our towels on the ground. No big deal. Don't go to the bathroom barefoot. We all know this, but just a reminder. The wave pool is FOR REAL. I saw it stopped multiple times to help kids out, and I took quite a big of water up the nose. I still love it. This place is great! We took our 3 year old with plenty to do. There are multiple splash pads and low level water ideas. The wave pool was a major hit. It is kept clean for how many people there are. Big parking lot. Lots of chairs and shaded areas. No outside food or drink except water, but There is a food stand. There is a lactation room as well which is really beneficial. We came back this season and had a better experience than the last. One of the slides was closed, but overall, the lines went very fast and we found chairs to use easily. Typical water park experience for fun. The lazy river got a little too crowded to enjoy at times due to those that walk and push their way through. Had a better experience with food service this time, though still pretty inefficient. We ordered pizzas and was told it would be 30-40 min for 3 pizzas. We received a buzzer and went back for it when it was ready. As I picked it up, there was another woman there complaining about hers not being done all the way and was going to have to wait another 20-30 min for a new one. I was happy to see all 3 of our pizzas were cooked and enjoyed by all. Also had food from the other concessions, the GF bun was fresher this time around and had to wait 25 min for a veggie burger that I had to keep running back to check on until I asked if the could hollar out the side window when it was done. A nice woman delivered it to me but only after my fries blew away in the wind one of the times I got up to check on my burger. Overpriced food aside with "meh" service, it was a great day we all enjoyed. We came back a second day with some relatives another day and it was less crowded on a Tuesday. We would visit again. Plenty of parking. You are not allowed to bring outside food or drink except water. There is no discount for kids unless they're 18 months or less. $20 per person. The food is expensive and bad (like most amusement parks). The amenities within the park were standard. Plenty of stuff to keep us busy all day. As far as water parks go, it was fine. read more

IMPORTANT - SCAM ALERT!!! The $7 parking fee is nonrefundable even when the beach parking is closed due to being full. The park staff will not let you know about this prior to payment. At the ticket booth, there won't be any sign suggesting that the parking is closed. The back of the pass indicates "NONREFUNDABLE", however, this information will be available to you only after you pay the nonrefundable fee. The staff suggested that this is an old problem, and thousands of Anoka guests and residents are being scammed annually. The park service supervisor, Joy Hilliard is well aware of the scam and intentionally chooses not to take action. read more

I spent 2.5 hours at the park and only got 30 minutes in the wave pool. Staff called two safety checks that left us sitting around for nearly two hours, and then it rained. We ordered food that took almost an hour to receive, staff claimed they'd been buzzing me, but I never heard anything. Then they said my buzzer must be broken, and I still waited another 20 minutes for my pizza. This experience was incredibly disappointing, and I won't be returning to this water park. Love Cardio Club. Best workout around!! They could be better with communication about what lines to be in for cash payment, Tot Time or even what lines will be open. They need to train the workers better to answer basic question. The life guards need to be better or more confident about enforcing the rules-ages of participants at Cardio, people stopping in the lazy loop for drinks.....why post rules if they aren't enforced!? Please note, only reviewing the time that Cardio Club is held. I have not been here during regular hours. I really enjoy Cardio Club here. People poo-poo the lazy river resistance workout, but my legs would disagree with those naysayers. I am always tired and my legs have enjoyed a good workout after an hour or two here. The nice thing is the rest of the pool isn't open yet to the public (at least on weekends) when this is going, so it's relatively quiet. Also, a good price for admission ($4). The negatives: lockers aren't open during Cardio Club so you leave your belongings out. At least most people seemed to be pretty honest, all of my stuff was still there. The bathrooms are also NASTY. The Waterpark itself was ok...... Get there early, they DO NOT have adequate parking, we had to park quite far. Last but not least, I waited over an hour for my food. They have all teens working the cafe without supervision. Teens need instruction and supervision. I don't blame the teens, I blame the management. It was a horrible experience..... I'm giving you a 2 because of the cafe, and there was no instruction on how to get to the park once we entered the park grounds. If you're not going to provide good service, you need to allow guests to bring their own food in. Something to think about: 1. The money you lost because of the people that left the line. 2. The money you lost for people not entering the line because it was long and clearly not moving. 3. The money you lost because people did not RE-ENTER the line for seconds. Love their wave pool! We venture here at least 1-2 times a summer. Price is very reasonable. $14 adults and kids over 48 inches $11 with a coupon. One recommendation. A one piece swim suit might work the best. I wore a two piece in the wave pool and let's just say thank god for the waves so I had time to readjust several times. It's not a huge water park, but what it does offer it does well at, with one major exception; the wave pool is fun, and the slides are nice, but the concessions could use a massive overhaul, my girlfriend and I spent the day here and ended up waiting in line at their snack shack for an hour for two small ice cream cones. Simple review - I personally witnessed a piece of fecal matter in the pool. My family and I got out of the pool and left. This is one HUGE water park!!! Great landscaping, clean. The wave pool is insane! There were only 3 life guards to watch a ton of people. Be sure you don't take your eyes off your child. The waves are CRAZY! I also agree with another reviewer about the bikini... I almost lost my suit with every wave! Be sure you bring a hat and lots of sunscreen. There isn't any shade and the cabana's are for groups that reserve them. The water is on the cooler side, but there are several outdoor showers that are warm so you can warm up or rinse off. The web site has a great virtual tour that shows the entire park. Pay close attention to the extra possible costs. You have to pay $5 to park (it's in a regional park), $6 if you want a locker and $3 for a two hour tube rental for the wave pool. (We only saw two tubes in the whole wave pool. Most people were jumping over or diving into the waves.) The tubes for the lazy river and tube slides are free. Having said all that, we had a great time and would definitely go again! read more

I always have wonderful experience with Bunker Beach from previous visits. But on June 19th 2024 in particular my group had a 2/10 experience. First, the wave pool was upsetting. But we brushed it off since we understood it was for maintenance. Our day was going good until we hit Rocky Bay, swimming with our goggles. As you're swimming, you're supposed to hold your breath under water. The whistle was blown multiple times about holding breaths but we didn't know if it was towards us since there were multiple groups also holding their breaths. One person from my group was swimming and as they got up, she had blew her whistle again. I looked at her with confusion because the whistle from the same person had been blown once again, at this point we knew all the times she previously blown the whistle, were only towards us. She said "Stop doing that" and out of utter confusion I had said "Doing what?", She had replied with "Stop holding your breath like that". There were no forceful actions to consciously hold our breaths to create harm to us or others. It is not like we can breathe under water. I get that it could've been a safety hazard but lifeguards need to mind their own business if I'm not drowning or causing a ruckus to the crowd. It was honestly unnecessary and ruined the whole day for us. I also read the rules about Rocky Bay and nothing about holding breaths were prohibited. We came from Wisconsin and decided to hit Bunker for the day. The water park was fine, but I had to call back to see if we left a prescription bottle at the pool The girl who answered said "i don't think so. Haven't heard". I asked if there was lost and found. She told me to drive over and ask first aid bc they keep it there. I asked her kindly if she could send someone as it's a 25 min drive to just ask about a pill bottle. She told me she didn't have time to check. Unbelievable. Customer service there was crap all the way around. mer also waited for food for quite a while even though they had 10 ppl working the stand screwing around. One window they closed just to chit chat. My boyfriend and I came all the way from CA to visit family here and decided to go to Bunker Beach with them. First, the lady at the front selling tickets was a b****. She gave an attitude and looked like she did not want to be there. Even if you were having a bad day, you should still know how to act especially towards paying customers. We had to walk all around the park to find the lockers and then all the way to the front to pay for the lockers (which should be offered at the front). Along with that, the park is overpriced ($15/person) and you have to pay for parking ($6) and lockers ($8). For that price, you'd think they'd have more than just 3 attractions. The park is also overcrowded and the lifeguards are rude af. Don't expect their staff to greet you or even acknowledge you lmao. Their bathrooms are also DISGUSTING. There was a yellow fluid leaking out of their showers. It was not worth the money. read more

This is one HUGE water park, which features 2 body slides, 4 tubing slides, a lazy river, a wave pool and a small kiddie pool. I give it 4 stars out of 5 because I believe the place is a bit overpriced at $15. Also, if you want a locker, there goes an extra $6 (or $9 if you want a larger one). But one thing I thought was a bit crazy was that you want to use a tube on the wave pool, that's $2.50 an hour, but you can get a tube on the lazy river or the tubing slides for free. They won't let you use those tubes on the wave pool though, they force you to rent one. I'd probably come back here again though, despite the price. read more

This place is awesome! Its fairly newly remodeled & extremely clean! The wave pool is huge, and in my opinion, the best part of the water park! They also have a giant kiddie area filled with a waiting pool & a few 'kiddie' slides & waterfalls. There is also a playground & sandbox for the little ones as well... They have also added quite a few adult & big kid water slides as well as a lazy river!. They also offer a 'twilight' rate if you arrive after 4... Great place to go during those hot summer days Slightly pricey, and the wave pool is perpetually packed, but that's a small "price" to pay for an otherwise great park. Like you already know, the wave pool is the main attraction, and is the best one I've been to (although, to be fair, I haven't been to more than a few). It is truly amazing that this is a community facility. They have facilities that will keep the family entertained all day long. The Wave Pool is awesome and the older kids love it. It is pretty intense so be sure you are comfortable in it. The kids pool is great for the little ones. Lots of water shooting everywhere and slides for the kids. The slides are pretty decent sized and are reasonably fast. Great for adults and older kids. Lastly, the lazy river is very nice. Moves at a decent pace and has some soakers, waterfalls, and misters. It is quite popular though and can get crowded. Bunker beach is one of the nicest community (county-owned) facilities I've ever seen. Great place to beat the heat. read more

They had a really cool wave pool, multiple water slides, pool with climbing wall and my favorite, the lazy river. I would definitely recommend to any one. Be aware. Overall it's a nice waterpark. You can spend the day there but I'd pack meals (have to eat homemade meals outside of park) because the food is very expensive. I think they should give a discount to those who are camping at the campground or at least give us an option to buy waterpark tickets at a discounted rate when booking a stay. Ticket prices are $15/ person (even those not swimming), the price drops to $11/person after 4pm. The hours are 11-7 most days. read more

If there was a zero stars I would rate it that. This water park is by far the worst water park I have ever been to. My friends and I made the hour trip in hopes of having a fun day together but we would have had much more fun at a community splash pad. We all head into the wave pool because that was what we were most excited for. As we are walking into the wave pool a life guard tells us that the waves will be on in 5 minutes and we are all super excited. All of a sudden all of the life guards start to blow there whistles a gentleman in our group asked if it was time for waves very politely. the life guard told the gentleman to shut up and get out of the wave pool. We have never experienced this amount of disrespect from anyone at any place we have been before. We were very upset by this but didn't let it ruine our moods. then later in the day two people in our group decided to try a slide we went down the tube slide and one gentleman fell of the tube after a sharp turn. After this a manager approached us and told us that we had to leave. confused we asked what we had done and they would not tell us. apparently falling out of the tube was enough to be banned from the park. The manager then targeted one of us due to her race. We will never be coming back and I hope you never make the visit either the workers are rude racist and disrespectful. read more

Beware of your 5 year old riding down the black out water slide alone . The lifeguard kicked my sons tube so hard down that he flipped head first out of his tube and came crashing down ,hitting his head so hard the whole way down the slide . My friend watched the whole thing happen . He even admitted to her that he may have kicked the tube a little too hard. All the while I had no idea he was in a panic coming down the slide because I was waiting for him at the bottom of the slide. Tony the manager called me today and basically said they are looking into the situation and it could have possibly been a over airfield tube that could have caused it on top of the life guard kicking my 48 pound son out . It infuriated me because they are not taking responsibility. How can a lifeguard be so negligent when they are supposed to be saving our kids if something bad happened not putting our kids in harms way. This was terrifying for my little guy. We were celebrating his birthday of just turning six years old and this is what he ended up dealing with. I even asked if they could refund us the hundred dollars we spent that day and they said they could do nothing about that. He put my son in danger by kicking as hard as he could on the back of my sons tube down the slide flipping him out ,yet they cannot reimburse us for what had happened. My son hit his head going down the slide and on top of that it was pitch dark . He managed to grab onto the tube during his ordeal and tried his best to hold on tight as he was barely down the waterslide. He only weighs 48 pounds. As a mother we know how bad this could have been . He was kicked out by Force and wet head fourth crashing into the sides. He could have been knocked out and who knows what could've happened. He is so little and tiny and the amount of force my friend witnessed the lifeguard kick was very extreme. He even admitted that he kicked the tube a little too hard. Yet did nothing to inform the lifeguard at the bottom of the slide that there was a kid barreling down without his tube. Force and went head fourth of crashing into the sides. I live in NE Minneapolis, and this place was an easy 30-minute drive up Central/Hwy 65. Two words: WAVE POOL. So much fun, so close. Very expensive! It cost me $50 for me and my 3 kids( 9, 5 & 1) plus $5 for parking. Food is also expensive here. You can bring your own food but have to eat it outside, don't understand why. I don't think it keeps people from spending $$$ here. Wave pool: cool & fun but my kids are young so we can't use. Lazy River: too many people and people were pushy. The point of the lazy river is to relax not be pushed around by other guest. read more
