I had my granddaughter's 2009 Chevy Aveo painted at the Earl Scheib Montclair location on May 2, 2018. I contacted Carlos Rodriguez, the shop supervisor. I told him exactly what I wanted. It was silver, and needed some minor body work. It's a hand-me-down car that needed some TLC. She wanted it painted charcoal gray. He gave me a quote that was acceptable. I dropped off the car on the appointed date and time. I was told the car would be ready in 7 days, it was. They did and excellent job. The car looks better than I expected it to. Carlos did everything he said he would. That is not always a given with respect to body and paint shops. I would not hesitate to use or refer others to this location for auto body or painting in the future. I shopped around at several different auto body and paint shops in the area. Went to a few auto paint shops to get estimates on painting my old '89 Dodge pick up truck. I wasn't going to put a ton of money into an expensive paint job, but I wanted it to look good once again. Took in my 2005 Honda Accord this week to get some body work done such as Random dents around my car, Fix the hood which had a couple dents in the front and had a couple of large dents on the top and to get the whole car painted for the clear coat/paint was cracking off all around. (I wish I had taken before pictures but had totally forgotten but yes it was as bad as it sounds).Took my car to Carlos (The Manager) this Tuesday morning and it was ready to be picked up less than 2 days later which I picked it up this morning (Thursday) and let me say I was very pleased with the work the did. They went ahead and fixed all the dents around my car (including ones I wasn't even going to get fixed) as a courtesy, Fixed the hood back to new condition when other body shops stated that I would just need to get another hood and that it couldn't be fixed. The paint job was a perfect match in paint color that matched the previous color I had on it. I had gotten the Platinum 3 year warranty plan which was perfect for my needs and for the price of everything all together what more could I ask for! When at any other shop this could have easily cost over $2000++. Very Prompt, Courteous, Reliable and Friendly Place/Service . From beginning to end Carlos walked us through the painting of my Son's 03 Mitsubishi Eclipse. He has big dreams for his little car and Earl Scheib did a great job making them come true. In addition to getting the paint the perfect shade desired, Carlos and his team did work on all four corners of the car, replaced the front end and fixed the hood, (Don't ask, most of the problems were there when we bought the vehicle). In addition to the clean paint job, the gaps on the replacement fenders and the hood were spot on, plus they polished out the headlights without even being asked. To our surprise, the price ended up being a little cheaper than we originally estimated. Even better was we were given a time period of 2 weeks originally, then 7 days when we dropped it off, but they got it done in 6 days! This place is seriously top of the line! I took my truck in because I wanted to make it something out of the ordinary and boy did they do something special. So I took in my truck and it is originally white. Carlos the manager was awesome. He was very approachable and nice and I could tell he wasn't going to rip me off. Carlos suggested I do a matte paint job so we came up with a matte gray color with black accents. He also was able to get me fender flares and new mirrors and install them all as well! 3 years ago we had our car repaired and repainted, awesome job. I half expected at least a couple of hundred dollar estimate when I took my car (the same car) in on fixing a front right bumper repair, but instead he made my day (year). Ron asked me to back my car into the garage and removed the paint by hand. Also buffed out some "marks" in the back and charged me ZERO! Ron wouldn't take anything for this service. My friend had referred me to Carlos, and Carlos was able to paint one whole side of my car for far cheaper than anyone else I contacted. The paint job he did was immaculate; I cannot imagine how anyone could have done any better. What's better is that he also removed some dents and touched up other areas of my car. I recently took a classic vehicle in to have a fender pulled out and a complete mid range paint job. Ed, the store supervisor, was great to deal with. this gentleman is so honest. I took my truck here to get it painted. He said "Miss.. you dont need to paint the whole truck..just the top and take it to a body shop to get the scratches buffed out".. He further indicated that my truck original paint job was in great shape. He quoted me a price very reasonable. I brought my car here for a complete paint job. Before I came, I called. I spoke to Ron who was so down to earth as my concern was his concern. I could feel a genuineness that set him apart from all the other shops I have dealt with on yelp. I dealt with Jerry when I arrived at the shop. Jerry was a carryover of Ron. He was very knowledgeable as he explained the paint preparation and process in detail. He walked me through the different options that were available. He didn't impose any sales pressure tactics. Knowledge is power. When I made my decision to have my car painted here, I felt more confident then any other place that I previously contacted. They even provided with a ride home. The paint job was to be completed on the following Wednesday as I dropped it off late Wednesday afternoon. Ron called me on Tuesday morning letting me know that the car was ready for pick up. I drove down to Ron's shop with my other vehicle as I wanted Ron to give me an estimate to have my rear bumper repainted as I had been told by other people that tree sap had taken its toll. Ron used a wax cleaner and wax on it. It looks like brand new. My front skirt was scraped- Ron brushed touched it- you can't even tell. Ron didn't charge me anything for this. As far as my newly painted car, it looks GREAT. Ron repainted the side mirror coverings, the black window trim, and polished both of my front headlight coverings at no additional cost. Ron advised me on how to take care of my new paint job. When i paid my bill, as I looked around the office, I seen a picture of Tommy Lasorda- former Dodger Manager with his truck hanging on the wall. Mr Lasorda has obviously been to Ron's shop. Stop your search. I'm telling you, STOP! ;) I was tapped out with a new job, juggling time, money, energy...moving from an Inside Sales position to an outside sales position and driving a nice, dependable low mileage 2001 Accord as I stretched my $ climbing forward from the recession. Of course, as fate would have it, my Accord got into a little fender bender and I didn't have collision insurance on such an old car. I replaced the bumper, did some touch ups but I have no way to paint. I dropped by a couple of "normal" Paint and Body Shops asking if they could do something basic to get me by and have my car looking decent. I did some of my own priming and sanding in advance hoping to squeeze out $50, 100, show good faith as I asked for help from a shop. The last shop I went to said he'd need $3000 to be able to do a job he was "comfortable" with. This was a shop with an insanely high Yelp score and at that, I would say that most shops are able to "help" when you have insurance and they can "massage" things around to help everyone in the loop. Well, if you're somebody that has very little money and have to or, choose to drive a beater so you don't have a crazy car payment...If you drive a car that does not have collision insurance just stop and bring your car to Carlos at Earl Scheib on Central Ave. I'm not going to tell you that he's a great salesman, I'm going to tell you that he's just a good, straightforward person that loves to do a good job and help people out by doing so. Same with the crew. I was tempted to shake a couple hands but came by to get my car on my lunch break so, (I know I suck) the best I could do was give a couple of waves and lipped thank you's and thumbs up - they're all just straightforward, nice people. The crew does a good job. OK - stop - I know what you're thinking and have been thinking - you can go on Craigslist and have somebody bondo your car and spray it in the driveway. At the start of my story a nice, helpful, independent guy saw me at a wrecking yard looking for a bumper, offered to install it - straightforward enough...he had me park on the curb where he could "box me in" so that I couldn't drive away if I wanted to rip him off. We exchanged numbers -- he'd give me a good deal to touch up little dings on my car and touch up paint. I took him up on it. He touched up a couple things, gave him partial payment, couple times and 3rd time he needed a bit in advance for a part. He was pretty invisible after that - I didn't box him in - hmmmm? I'm not one to be an idiot...fairly street wise...was just willing to have a handshake deal with two people doing their best to get by. Yeah right. Do it with that person and those people that have a nice, reputable shop and will just give you an honest deal. Earl Scheib - Ontario. Carlos. They did the last bit of touch up, finish sanding, good paint - complete, clear coat, 3 year warranty - I could be leaving something out but it looks very good, especially for a 15 year old car - $800 out the door. If you need less than I did, could be less but good work, good people, straightforward deal, easy, no headaches, even a day earlier than promised! Bring your car here.
