This is by far probably my most frequented place. Like the Keg, I come for its consistency and I stay for the wonderful staff and service. Hands down some of the best servers in the city. The management gets stars here for this along with the staff. Always attentive, kind, sweet and does the service justice. I said I'd stop coming if they ever got rid of their Caesar garnish and I didn't really lie. I never order them anymore. For many years, I refuse. And that's because they no longer hold best Caesar title in the city. This is the one thing I'd give less stars for and it's a widely held opinion city wide. I get that it was likely due to staff eating the garnish as well, but c'mon Earls, if you can't afford a few extra sticks for your hardworking staff, you should be embarrassed. Blowers will forever have you beat now, along with Cafe Amore and a few others. The food is always good and like I said consistent here. They always attend to requests as well. This does not go unnoticed. Salmon, upgraded surf & turf, cajun chicken caesar salads, healthy bowls, oysters, all are consistent and good. Brunch is my new fave though a not new feature. It has some of the best and most unique potatoes you will ever try. Some people may judge this rating and say it's overrated, but I beg to differ. Some of the best expectations one can be catered for is consistency and service and these guys have it down pat at Tin Palace. Special shoutout goes to Miller and a few other servers. This was the first time I have been to the Earls on jasper. A group of six of us came here before going the see the ESO at the winspear. I had the bi bim bap because the first time I had bi bim bap was at Earls. It has since become a favorite dish and I even make it at home sometimes. It was great, but now that I have tried a few different versions, I would have added a few more vegetables to the bowl. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too. 3 others had a salmon a a couple had burgers. All reports.were.good. Our cocktails were also good. Lots.of.us had a margarita of some kind, and I had a well made expresso martini. It was exactly how I would have made it, so part of me was "we have expresso martini at home" but it was the part of me that was saying "we are going to listen to relaxing music, throw a little caffeine down to avoid nodding off" won out. Earls is a staple in Canada. The restaurant is very quaint and relaxing. there are different areas where you can be seated upon your preference. The menu is extensive with something for everyone to try. They have salads, burgers, steaks, ribs, etc. I tried the spicy watermelon margarita and it was perfect! The spicy was a good kick. The corn guacamole was so good! It was perfectly seasoned and not too salty. I really enjoyed that dip. The yam fries were all crispy and not soggy. The shrimp sushi taco was good. We came to Earls Tin Palace patio after we spent some time down 104th street. The patio at this location is warm, large, and inviting. Honestly you always know what to expect when you come to Earls. We tried the new watermelon Bellini which really didn't taste like watermelon at all. I think I prefer the regular flavour they had before but that being said this one was not bad and it was really pretty. Classic rum and coke and a Moscow mule in a nice cold mug. For food we ordered the chicken tacos and the spicy tuna sushi. Both were good and tasty, satisfied our hunger. The patio has beautiful ambiance, lots of shields and distance between patrons, and warm warm warm!!! Overall I will definitely be back to Earls as it's a common one for me. It is so true what they say - when you go to a restaurant you tend to order the tried and true. Well I got pushed out of my comfort zone at Earls when we got a chance to take part in a Chefs Table - where the head chef decides what you are eating and drinking for the evening. Earls has a few new things on the menu which we had the opportunity to try.... we started the evening with an amazing cocktail to help set the mood - a Moscow Mule. Marcel, our server suggested it would be perfect with the upcoming meal and he was not mistaken. The fresh salad with champagne vinaigrette, baby tomatoes and feta for a hint of saltines was a nice way to start the meal. A perfect side with any meal you would order. We then moved to soups. The new Sunchoke with the garlic croutons Is totally worth having (gluten free if you don't add the croutons!) or the traditional Clam Chowder. How do you choose? That chowder has beat out competitions in Boston! We stuck to the seafood theme with Dynamite Rolls and Poke. Both amazing. The Poke is great for sharing with big chunks of tuna, mango, avocado. I was in love. And Marcel was fantastic again and paired this with a great Chardonnay. Then we moved to the seafood entree. Salmon cooked to perfection with jasmine rice and asparagus. And we still weren't done. Cajun Chicken with the coleslaw and famous warm potato salad and Chicken Hunan came next. And then an amazing selection of desserts. My favourite being the new one on the menu - the banana cake. But really how do you wrong with cheesecake or sticky chocolate toffee pudding??? But in the end the Chefs Table is more than about the food though. Oh don't get me wrong. The food is spectacular - when I return to Earls next time I won't be getting the same thing I've been getting for the past 20 years. But it's the experience. I got to know the head chef Riley who chatted with us and told us stories about how the food was created, the other chefs, and working at Earls. We had an evening, not just a meal. I think their food is great, I love the ambience, they are big, they are trendy and they have a great selection of alcohol. Additionally, they have parking which I appreciate on busy Jasper Ave. I love coming to this location because of their happy hour specials. I could live off of them! The thing that earls needs to work on simply is the service. It's just too hit and miss for me to even give an answer. I typically experience the best service in the lounge and the worst on the patio. That could be due to the volume of people. One thing I do love, however, is the different spaces in the restaurant. This review is overdue, but I couldn't let the year pass by without sharing the outstanding evening we had at an Earls Tin Palace Chef's Table Dinner Experience back in March of this year. First of all, we love Earls Chef's Tables - they are interactive, relaxing, and they always put an incredibly fun and personal spin on each dining experience. My friends and I have had the opportunity to attend 4 of them over the years; some with kitchen tours, some with participative cooking and drink-making, and some like this one... with the opportunity to just sit with 5 great friends, be treated like royalty, learn and listen to great stories from our host and head chef, and taste our Earls all-time favorite, and "soon to be favorite", dishes. If it wasn't great enough that our host, General Manager Benjamin Wolff von Selzam, greeted us with a champagne reception and sat us at the nicest table in the house... It was that he also brought out Head Chef, Mark Kennedy, between every course to tell us about the history of our favorite dishes, but also about his own history and the inspiration behind some of the new dishes on the menu. Sadly, I can't even remember how many dishes we were served. It was above and beyond our expectations though. And to say that we were full and satisfied by the end of the evening, is an understatement. Dynamite rolls, Warm Spinach + Three Cheese Dip, Spring Greens and Grains, Salmon, the Seafood Platter, Sticky Toffee Chocolate Pudding, Cheesecake and the White Chocolate Crème Brûlée were only a handful of the dishes we were served. Although we have appreciated every Earls Chefs' Table that we've attended, I have to say that this was one of my favorites. Ben really made an effort to ask questions and find out how he could make our evening special before we even sat foot in the restaurant. He followed that up by making us feel right at home, sharing his professionalism and warm personality, and making our evening the perfect ladies' night out. My final shout-out is to Earls. My friends and I wouldn't have had these amazing night's out if it weren't for Earls' generosity in giving Chef's Table Dinner Experiences to various charity fundraisers. If you see one at an auction, bid generously. I promise you will get an amazing experience while joining forces with Earls to help out our communities. Looking forward to the next one! read more

I decided to give Earls another shot, and was very pleased with the high quality and friendly service and the entire experience. I went with a friend for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were seated in a cozy booth with a view of a lovely XXL size painting. My friend ordered an old fashioned cocktail and I sipped on a gin and soda. We started with pan bread, which is served with classic oil and vinegar-- something that has been on the Earl's menu for as long as I can remember. For mains, my friend ordered the salmon, and I had jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was served with a generous portion of coleslaw, two giant pieces of chicken, and rice. The chicken was tender and flavourful. It had a kick to it, but wasn't overly spicy. My friend enjoyed her salmon, asparagus and smashed taters. She had a glass of red with dinner, and I tried an old fashioned after enjoying the taste I had of hers. We both wanted dessert but were too full at this point. Dear Earls, I am absolutely addicted to your beef bibimbap. The sad truth is that this amazingly delicious dish is only available at your "flagship" restaurants. That's ok, I can deal. I'm not even going to dock any stars for the challenging parking situation, because frankly, even if I had to walk 5 blocks (2 in heels), I'd give you the same rating. Because bibimbap. We always order a cold and delicious craft beer with lunch. Thank you for having excellent choices available. I will tell you that your washrooms here are amazing (a whole room to yourself, perfectly clean, nicely decorated and definitely selfie-worthy!) The service was, and is always, on par. Hubby had some chicken-something-or-other sandwich. It looked delish, he said it was really good and then proceeded to procure the rest of my bibimbap sauce to dip it in. Because bibimbap. Went to Earl's for lunch today. Food was as expected, BUT, the booth we sat in was disgustingly dirty with old food chunks in the cracks and seems of the booth seating. I swear I took at least three more pictures but for some reason they did not save on my phone. I tried to get a sense of the restaurant's ambiance. Earl's has been around Edmonton a long time. Back in the late 90's, it was the place to go for a Saturday brunch or dinner date. I haven't been to Earl's in over ten years so when my friends suggested it for a Christmas lunch today - I happily agreed. We all tried different dishes. I had the Chicken Teriyaki. It was pretty good. I wouldn't give it five stars, but it was tasty. Service was fast and friendly. And we got in no problem without a reservation. Parking on the other hand was a bit more complicated. Give yourself plenty of time to get lost. Went for lunch. Every time I go to this location, poor service or no service. Waited for menus, waited on food that some got and the rest got it when half were finished meal. Uncooked and burnt. I love Earls but honestly this location always disappoints. Unfortunate. Funny enough - talked to a few ppl and they felt the same. Had to actually call upon another waitress waiting on a different table because ours disappeared for very long periods. 10 min before menues, another 15 for water and 20 for apple juice! Wonderful service, mediocre food. When we arrived, there were no seats in the lounge but we were seated immediately in the dining room. The drinks came fast and our server was a delight! She made sure our food and drinks came at in good time and kept our waters filled. My complaint was the food. I had gotten their dynamite roll which I've had before at other locations. It looked wonderful when it came out, it was only after I bit into it that I realised something was wrong. The rice they had used for the roll was not just sticky, it was mushy to a point where it wasn't rice anymore, it was just the consistency of a paste. To make it worse, the tail piece of the shrimp which usually sticks out a bit from the roll was cut like a regular tempura piece and ended up making the roll crunchy and full of shrimp shells. I hate sending food back but the texture of the rice paste was so bad that I couldn't eat it. Our server was amazing about the whole thing and I ended up just getting fries as I couldn't stomach having more dynamite roll and didn't want to chance it. If the server wasn't so wonderful, this would have been a one star review. I would give 5 stars for service if I could! This location is the closest to me so I might go back, but I'll have to think really hard about what to order next time. Probably just stick to some western food like a burger or pasta to be safe. I ordered from this Earl's location via Skip the Dishes when I was in Edmonton recently. Ordering via Skip the Dishes was fast and easy. The only downside was that I was in a hotel that didn't allow deliveries up to the rooms, so I had to go to the lobby to get my food, but that's not Earl's or Skip the Dishes fault. What is Earl's fault is the lack of utensils in my order! I had ordered a dynamite roll and they only included chopsticks, no regular utensils. Thankfully I had utensils left over from the previous day, so I had something to eat with, but that was annoying. The food, however, was awesome. I love their dynamite rolls. And I miss them because I no longer live anywhere near an Earl's! read more

Space: As far as Earl's goes (and I'm a fan) you cannot beat this location. Nicknamed the Earl's Tin Palace, the aesthetic of this (small) chain restaurant location is very unique. On a nice day, this patio ranks among the best I've been to. It's large, open-yet-private, filled with flowers and somewhat separated from the street. A great outdoor dining experience. The inside is more typical of Earl's Restaurants in general, but that isn't to say it's lacklustre. Still an above-average dining room. Service: The service was good, because of the popularity large outdoor patio, the service staff seemed to conduct a lot of their operations from an area on the patio, rather than from inside the restaurant while you are forgotten. That was a boon to the experience. Food: Typical Earl's fare (of which, like I said, I am a fan). I got the Cheddar Bacon 1/2 Pound Burger. I frequent burger joints and burger bars and burger bistros -- but I love this burger. The food at Earl's is always tasty and (being a chain, albiet a small one) familiar at whichever Earls you are -- but it is not as intricately prepared or "home-cooked" as an independent place. Went in Saturday the 28th of July for brunch, only about half an hour after they opened so the restaurant was pretty empty. We were seated very quickly, which was great. I had heard that Earls Tin Palace was launching an all vegan plant based menu, so I was very excited to try some of the new stuff. My partner and I were greeted a little bit after we sat, our waitress was friendly enough but seemed tired and spacey, forgetting drink orders and taking a while to bring coffee and water refills. Before I went vegan I was a big fan of the Earls bibimbap, and was excited to see that had been veganized, so I ordered that. My partner ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with extra chicken, blackened. To drink I had a mimosa, which was tart and fresh and delicious. Our food came and my partners fettuccine had little to no sauce, and was quite dry. I noticed that my bibimbap was lacking the gochujang sauce that normally comes with it, so when she came to quality check 10 minutes after we received our food (a bit late for my liking) I mentioned that, and off she went to grab some sauces for us. A few minutes later I got my hot sauce, he got his Alfredo and we dove in. My food was alright, the veggies were quite soggy and over cooked, while the rice was under cooked and quite crunchy. With the extra sauce my partners fettuccine was alright, but nothing to write home about. All in all we racked up a $55 bill, not bad for the two of us. We paid and went on our way, but I don't think we'll be back any time soon unless Earls fine tunes their vegan menu a bit more. read more

I want to preface this by saying that me and all my friends who are all currently working in the food service industry, and so we all fully understand that things sometimes get busy and service can suffer. However, I've gone with my friends three times in the last month or so, and each time we had very sub-par service. On one visit, there were 30 minute to one hour long periods were our server seemed to vanish, and our one guest waited an hour just for a drink. We're rather sure our food waited in the window for quite a while, because by the time we actually got our food, some of it was cold. Our waiter left, saying he would be right back to ask us about the drinks we were considering, and after waiting so long, we decided to just take the bill and go. I went back again recently, and our server completely forgot to bring my friend his entire entre. Don't get me wrong, the food and drinks were generally good, the staff are perfectly nice and polite, and the atmosphere is great, but I get the vibe that there are some issues regarding organization, staff discipline, and management that need some smoothing out. My roommates say they would likely not come back, simply because it was so frustrating to feel like no one is taking care of you while you dine. read more

For the Spring Menu Earls is making quite the change. There are lots of fresh dishes packed with flavour, and Earls has begun a partnership with Spring Creek Ranch (based out of Vegreville, Alberta) to serve their beef on the menu. The evening kicked off with some of the new and noteworthy cocktails, namely the Paloma ($8.50) and Watermelon Pina Colada ($8.50). I went with the piña colada and loved the added delicate flavour from the watermelon. The rum wasn't overpowering, and I really enjoyed how light and smooth it was. Come summer months, you'll find me sipping on this drink out on the patio. For those of you that do not drink, Earls makes sure you don't miss out on the fun with their list of mocktails. I also had the Passion Fruit Limeade ($4.50). The passion fruit may make you pucker, but it really gives this drink a punch of tropical tang. Our night started off with a taste of the Tuna Tostadas ($13/4), where seared chili rubbed Albacore Tuna is accompanied by avocado, jicama slaw, and cilantro aioli served on a tortilla chip. This honestly has everything I want in an appetizer and just screams to be eaten on the patio. The tuna is well seasoned, the pickled slaw gives a sour kick to balance the creamy avocado, there's a slight heat from the chili, and a squeeze of lime juice on top brings it all together. The first dish we tried that evening was a fresh new take on the traditional Fattoush Salad ($17.25). Cucumbers, pickled red onions, grapes, and roasted peppers are tossed with arugula in a preserved lemon dressing and served on a bed of sumac yogurt. The salad is then topped with pita chip croutons and garnished with Italian flat leaf parsley and served with some Moroccan spiced chicken breast. There was smokiness from the peppers, tang from the dressing, and an unexpected but refreshing burst of sweetness from the grapes. It was great to see this Mediterranean salad on the menu, but I don`t know if it`s going to be able to compete with the ever popular Santa Fe Chicken Salad! Next up was the new Oven Roasted Moroccan Salmon ($25), presented with the skin on. This beautiful salmon sits on a tomato-based chermoula and is served alongside pickled pearl onions, peas, and cauliflower roasted in Persian oil, which gave it a distinct yellow colour. It is quite rare to see skin-on fish served in Alberta, so I loved the rustic presentation and that wonderful crispy skin! The fish was cooked quite well and I would have preferred for it to be slightly undercooked, but the remaining components of the dish were quite flavourful, making this dish a hit. Alberta is well known for beef, so if you have some of high quality from Spring Creek Ranch, you have to show it off! As of April 22, all Earls locations across Canada are being supplied with New York and top sirloin cuts from Spring Creek. We had a sampling of the sirloin served with some fresh horseradish and it was fantastic. Juicy, tender, and full of flavour, this beef really showcases Alberta beef! The course I was most looking forward to trying was the Korean Bibimbap Rice Bowl ($15, additional $ for proteins) served up in a stone pot. Bibimbap is such a comforting dish, and Earls has put it's own spin on it. The Jasmine rice crisps up very nicely in the hot stone bowl and is topped with marinated Spring Creek Ranch striploin, zucchini, oyster mushrooms, carrots, pickled vegetables (cucumber, onion, hot peppers), and a beautiful soft poached egg. The presentation is absolutely gorgeous, and you can add the housemade sesame chili sauce to suit your tastes. Although not exactly authentic, I quite enjoyed Earls' spin on bibimbap. Crispy rice, plentiful toppings, and spicy sauce to tie it all together makes me pretty happy! The new Berry Shortcake ($8.75) was our dessert for the evening, and it was delicious. Two layers of cake combined with fresh, seasonal berries, vanilla mousse, and almond crumble made for a lighter version of the traditional dessert. It wasn't too sweet, and I could probably eat two of these on my own. Did I say dinner was over? Not before we all sampled the new Royale with Cheese Burger ($18). One bite and I was sold - smoked cheddar, dry cured bacon, portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, lettuce, and housemade mushroom ketchup served inside a soft brioche bun. It tastes just as good, if not better, than it sounds! While there are two other new gourmet burgers available on the spring menu, this will definitely be my go-to burger from now on when I dine at Earls. All three burgers are available for a limited time until July 16th. A new season has brought along a new menu with some pretty delicious dishes for Earls. I know that Earls is a go-to spot for many, so it's really nice to see new dishes pop up from time to time. To be honest I never thought I would EVER be a regular at Earls.. but their happy hour specials have me hooked, and this location is amazing especially in the summer. $3 highballs & beers it makes for an affordable night out for a student. The patio in the evenings have heaters & blankets at the table so you can cozy up and stay warm. The half price bottles of prosecco at brunch are also a good time. read more

Last time I'm ever going to this bar. I am a server and bartender I'm always lenient on customer service because I know how difficult it can be to please customers sometime but the treatment I received tonight was unbelievable. Saturday night at 12:30 am and we were just at our table minding our own business when we were told to be quiet because tables were complaining that our table of 4 people were being too loud. The music was way above average volume and there was 1 table next to us. Safe to say our Fun was cut short because earls staff and management felt we were having too much fun for the place. Talked to a manager who did not care about our concerns. Will never go here again. Used to be an avid earls supporter but after this experience, will think twice about going to an earls again. read more

Brunch and half off bottles ... I'll be there waiting by the door to open! The opportunity to sit at the solarium? Yes please! My sister and I choose the bottle of Bubbly with a side of orange juice to start (and hopefully end). I ordered the most ethnic meal on the menu " Fillipino rice bowl" and my sister had the "Avocado super brunch". Love how the drinks come out super fast! Food was absolutely tasty and looked amazing. I was here on a Saturday afternoon around 3:00pm hoping to get on the patio as I noticed it was not overly busy. They told us there would be a 20 min wait which shocked me as the patio was not even full. Hence the 3 stars! We were informed by our server when we paid for our bill that they were short staff as most staff don't roll in till about 4pm. Tsk tsk there's the problem. I do have to say that Earls has done a great job decorating their patio and solarium. Very inviting. The decor was tasteful and comfy chairs. Lots of seating! We ordered their drink specials that were $2 off and it included the Tiki Torch made with appleton white and vx rums, falernum, guava, orange and fresh lime. This drink was amazing and can be really dangerous if you are not too careful. I decided on their Baja Fish Tacos and it was supposed to be two corn tortillas with crispy battered cod, jalapeno pineapple salsa, cabbage slaw, avocado crema. Well very little avocado to be found and the cod was minimal (more battered than cod). This was too bad as I have had their tacos before and I was usually pleased with it. read more

Food was good - my mother said she had the best sweet potato fries of her life. Service was subpar- my sister and I were trying to give my mom a present but we couldn't for the life of us get them to clear the dishes off our table so we could give it to her. I tried handing her the plates, stacking them, whatever I did didn't work. Pretty much ruined the surprise when I started trying to clear a path... unimpressed. read more
