I had stayed up til 2 am the night before, procrastinating to go to bed because I had to go to Disneyland the next day with my brothers and some friends I have never met. It was mixture of excitement, nervousness and blah. Even when I woke up that morning, I almost decided not to go on that magical day. However before we went to Disney, they decided to meet and have a nice breakfast at this lovely place, and immediately I knew it would be a nice day. I was already nervous because of meeting his friends for the first time. However I was also excited because I never had Egg Benedict before! I was probably more focused on the food then them. I ordered the Traditional Egg Benedict with potato skillets ( or skillet potatoes I never remember) and an orange juice. My brother ordered the a waffle of the week. We shared the dishes so I got to try both. Woot! The Egg Benedict looked amazing with sauce and the little chives! I squealed like a child inside. and I really enjoyed the potatoes! Little bit of tapatio and some fun shaking the old fashion ketchup bottle YUM! I'm also kind of weird so I enjoyed the tomato that came with it as well. The waffle looked disappointing, because it looked like a waffle. I'm not sure what I was expecting. But it taste amazing to me. The texture with the berry sauce... and ohh the whip cream which I usually try not to eat but did anyway. It was delicious. I was skeptical about this place so perhaps I went in with low expectations but I thought it was really good! WAIT: We went on a rainy saturday morning at 10:15am and were quoted at a 45 minute wait for 2. It turned out to be more like 30 minutes and you put down your number and they text you when it is time. The plaza has some random shops you can roam around like Stater Bros. They also have an app where you can see where you are in line but you have to download it and then make an account so we got lazy and didn't check it out. ATMOSPHERE: It's pretty modern and clean. Not too much clutter inside, with metal chairs. We liked that it didn't have that "diner" breakfast restaurant feel and it also didn't try too hard to be "trendy." It was a little dark but I wasn't sure if that is because we sat near the big open windows and it was gloomy outside. The inside is fairly big too so I think tables turn quickly. FOOD: We got three dishes total and it was enough for the two of us. Their portions are a little on the smaller side for the price you pay which was on negative. Their egg dishes say it comes with toast but it actually doesn't. It comes with your choice of hash browns or potatoes, and this roasted tomato. The amount of hash browns was kind of small too. FRANK FLOYD BENEDICT - No english muffin so it's low carb. Instead your poached eggs, spinach and smoked salmon are on top of a juicy portobello mushroom. The sauce was standard eggs benedict sauce. The smoked salmon didn't have much flavor. Overall, this dish was average...I feel like most eggs benedict taste the same to me unless it has some different meats. The hash browns were really good though, they put grilled ONIONS and CHEESE in it. Mmm..so crispy and yummy. DUCK CONFIT HASH - I was expecting a griddle full of meat, potatoes and eggs. Instead it's a spattering of their potatoes (tasted and looked like fingerling) and shredded duck. The duck was super tasty though - if you like duck you'll love this dish. The raisins add a nice sweetness and the arugula helped cut through the saltiness of the duck. The eggs on top were good, they let me do over medium since normally it comes with sunny side up. There was also a bread/crouton type thing in the mix and I couldn't figure out what it was. It had an almost cornmeal type taste...maybe it was just a special kind of bread? GRIDDLE PANCAKE - $6.50 for one, topped with whipped cream and strawberries. The outside of the pancake was almost perfect. Not soggy, not doughy, slightly crispy on the outside and then fluffy and soft on the inside. Not eggy tasting either. The maple syrup seemed legit too. Strawberries and cream add a nice touch but I didn't really eat much of it. Towards the middle it got a little doughy and one pancake was well enough for the two of us. Overall, pleasantly surprised. Drove from Cerritos to try this place out for the first time. We had the following; Eggs Benedict - Edges of the ham seemed dried out like it had been sitting outside the fridge for way too long before it landed on my plate. Eggs looked perfect but when I broke into them they were a watery mess -- they should ooze CREAMY yolk! :) The sauce over it was salty. The potatoes needed that grilled taste, they were a bit underdone. The roasted tomatoe on the plate was sooo tasty and a nice addition. Lomo Saltado - Great flavor, tender steak, but SALTY. Super salty. Inedible salty. Elvis Waffle - Delicious. Bacon, banana, nutella, inside a deep-fried crispy waffle. Can't go too wrong! The coffee while we waited was great. The No Wait APP service they use for managing the line is AWESOME. I love when places have this app! We will be getting into line next time before taking the 20 minute drive to arrive. Everyone was super friendly but the breakfast didn't blow me away and while flavorful, super salty. I love salt, it was even salty for me and inedible for Mom. True to what I've read in other reviews, Early Bird is a happening breakfast/lunch spot in Fullerton. Located in a fairly large shopping center off of Bastanchury Ave & Brea Blvd, it's easy to find and there's plenty of parking. Before heading over, I checked Yelp to see if there was a wait. It showed there wasn't one at the time, but if there was I could've added myself to their waitlist before I got there (super convenient feature!). Once my party arrived, there was a short wait for the table to be cleared and cleaned and we were seated promptly. Our waitress, Lindsay, was very efficient and friendly. She came to our table shortly after we were seated to take our drink orders and to see if we had any questions about the menu. Our order came out pretty quickly. Plate presentation was really nice. We were a party of 5 -- I ordered the Frank Floyd Benedict, my daughter ordered the brioche French toast, and the rest of the 3 all ordered the chicken & waffle. The Frank Floyd Benedict is a twist on eggs Benedict in that it has spinach and smoked salmon instead of ham and is served on a portobello mushroom. The eggs were poached perfectly and the flavors went together beautifully. The side of potatoes was delicious as well. The brioche French toast looks pretty plain, but the flavor is amazing! Fluffy, yet decadent, it's sprinkled with a nutty crumble topping that has a nice hint of orange. The chicken & waffle is served with a generous pile of micro greens which none of the 3 particularly cared for (they picked them all off and could've turned it into a dinner salad, there was that much!). Under all the micro greens they found their main dish: the waffle and the chicken, with what looks like sausage gravy and no cream creamed corn. Two of the 3 liked it together, one didn't care for the corn concoction. Last but not least, I've gotta mention the Mexican coffee. SO good! Smooth, slightly sweet, served with a cinnamon stick. Early Bird delivers on providing a satisfying selection of items with a good portion size. It was our first time here so we were eager to sample what we could. So we decided to try The Early Bird for breakfast. Seating was quick and the servers were friendly. We came here based on the great reviews. The coffee is strong but good. However, getting that coffee was a chore. After the first cup we had to ask several times before we got a refill. I ordered the Eastwood Omelet and a side of bacon. The Eastwood was very flavorful and the bacon was prepared perfectly. I asked for a side of Pico de Gallo and sour cream as toppers for my omelet. This is the first time a restaurant has charged me for the Pico de Gallo and sour cream. Service was terrible! However, we were told it was because they were short one server. We have been to several eateries where they have only one server, and 25 or 30 people to serve. And, we have gotten excellent service. They had four servers, so I don't buy the short staffed excuse. My rating is based on food and the service. The Early Bird gets 2.5 stars because of the poor service. Yelp only allows whole star ratings not halves. So I gave them 2 stars on the app. The Early Bird needs to up their game on customer service. And, who charges for Pico de Gallo and sour cream? We won't spend our hard earned money in an eatery with poor customer service. I know these are difficult times for the food service industry, but I have to be honest about our experience. Went here on a Sunday at 930am. Thought it was cool how they utilize Yelp by being able to make a reservation through here (which we did. I live 30 minutes away from this place). Reserving through yelp was cool since it tells you the wait time and how many parties are before you. Once we got there, table was ready for us we arrived! And the service was great! It was me and my boyfriends first time there and our waitress, forgot her name but she was Asian, was so welcoming and friendly. We ordered the "Waffle of the day" and it turned out to be a Churro Waffle! Though it was smaller than we thought, it was scrumptious! My boyfriend got the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict and that is a must try! The flavors in that dish are amazing! The wait for this popular place was long, but we did the Yelp Live wait while on our drive over and waited for about 15 minutes before we were seated. I ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict ($13) and those were delicious. They are poached eggs, served on a English muffin, with country ham, homemade hollandaise, and chives. I ordered hash browns with my eggs and they were good. My date and I split the maple bacon waffles and they were absolutely delicious! The lady checking us in was rude, didn't seem to have some basic communication skills. When we finally got our table, we didn't have a choice of picking a table. We were told there was only one table for us and we had to take it or leave it. The guy who showed us the table was rude and lacked polite communication skills. I got here at 11 on a Saturday and had to wait for 45 minutes for the table (found out afterwards that I can use Yelp and the Nowait app to put my name down on the list before I go so the wait should be less of a pain next time) We ordered: - fried chicken jalapeno benedict: the fried chicken is crispy, the egg is poached perfectly, the jalapeno adds a little kick to the dish - El Guapo omlette: their omlettes are cooked really evenly and smooth, it would be better if the there are slightly more fillings compared to the egg - Chef Vic's Chilaquiles verdes: the steak is cooked perfectly to medium rare even though its already sliced up, the tortillas are great with the sour cream and avocado This is definitely one of the best brunch places in the area! They're not taking online orders. You wouldn't know this until you arrive to pickup your food and have it not be ready. We've ordered here a few times throughout the pandemic and I'm always left a little disappointed. The food is fine. They have good stuff on the menu but somehow it just seems overpriced for what it is. Faux fancy food? The portions are just slightly small, potatoes are blah which sucks. The yummiest waffles & best omelette I've had! The waffle was perfectly cooked. I requested the toppings for my waffle to be put on the side because typically the toppings are super overdone and make the waffle soggy. I like how the waffles aren't super thick, and the toppings (raspberry jelly) tasted so fresh. Most restaurants charge to add toppings, but I added extra ingredients to my omelette and the waitress didn't charge us for it. Speaking of the waitress; she was super sweet, great bubbly personality and smiled the entire time while helping us. We were in town for a show and relied on Yelp reviews to select this spot for breakfast. We were beyond thrilled with our selections. Let's start with the mimosa flight. They were full-size portions of 3 different flavors, so be sure to share. Delish! Flavors for the day were raspberry, blueberry, and OJ. The champagne was mixed with a puree of fresh berries for the 2 seasonal mixtures. Awesome and lasted the entire time to eat breakfast. I selected the Elvis waffle, which included banana, bacon and Nutella. I substituted peanut butter for the Nutella-because that's legit Elvis. The waffle was thin-yay! The bacon was perfectly crispy and the peanut butter melted into each of the waffle crevices. I added a little syrup and each bite was a mouth-smacking piece of heaven. My husband had the steak and eggs. The steak is marinated in some awesome sauce, and when combined with the A-1 sauce was melt-in-your-mouth amazing. I hope you're still reading because the atmosphere is so welcoming. We were seated between a newbie to my left and a Early Bird vet to my right. We struck up easy conversations with both about our food. The Early Bird vet suggested we order the hash browns next time (and there will definitely be a next time!) because they have cheese in them. I will say this, it was bustling at the time we came, and the lunch crowd was coming in as we left. The place was jumping, and I would like to try their lunch. The menu has something for everyone, and the cooks know what they are doing. I should have asked for another type of omelet, as I'm sure they would have made what I wanted as there is not a selection of omelets. Came here around eleven. It was crowded with only a couple of tables open. We were instructed to seat ourselves. We ordered the Traditional Eggs Benedict ($12) and the El Guapo Omelet ($10). The Eggs Benedict came with a poached egg, ham, hollandaise, English muffins, and chives. The Benedict today was so salty and they overcooked the ham so I was struggling to cut it. The Omelet had chorizo, avocado, tomatoes, queso fresco, and cilantro. The Omelet was also just okay. We've ordered it before and last time it has so much meat this time there was barely any... they also ran out of hash browns so we had to get their skillet potatoes. They weren't crispy at all and half of my potatoes were undercooked.. I usually come here to get breakfast in Fullerton but probably will never return after this visit. My wife and I have made two trips here now and really enjoy the place. The waits can be bit crazy since they do not take reservations and its on the small side for restaurants. People enjoy the food and service can be on the slow side so turn around is not a strong suit here, but the food is. This last time around I went for the Eggs Benedict it seems to be popular item with the reviewers and it happens to be a something I have come to enjoy quite a bit, so I'll give it a go when I find a good spot for it. I have to say, they didn't disappoint. The eggs cracked open to beautiful ooze. The ham underneath was cooked well. My only suggestion may have been a thinker muffin as mine wasn't nearly substantial enough to hold the egg, ham and hollandaise sauce. My previous visit I went for the El Guapo which is an omlete filled with chorizo and avocado. I enjoyed it and felt the flavors were good, but don't know if I was over the moon about the chorizo, so didn't feel like it earned a second go around, but there is plenty to try so not the end of the world. We ordered a side of sourdough toast which came out quick, but hey its bread, it hot and that it is it. However, the fresh made berry jelly was killer!!! So, so good. I would order bread again just for that. My wife got a two egg breakfast, and then was delivered a different breakfast. It was quickly fixed, but our service was spotty at best. I had to hunt down our waitress to get a soda refill. She walked by a number of times and just didn't even bother. Had to do the same for the check. A fun breakfast nook in a strip mall. They have many unique dishes. Waffles are currently thin so you get the waffle crispness without the bulk. The server says they are working on getting thicker waffles also. We had a pecan butter waffle special sitting on top of red sauce that was probably a raspberry. The sweetness didn't overpower the waffle and the flavors gelled nicely together. The Frank Floyd Benedict was our favorite today. Think roasted portobello mushroom, instead of muffin, sautéed spinach, smoked salmon and Béarnaise source. The combined flavors hit the palette nicely. The restaurant is casual modern. Chairs are aluminum but were quite comfortable. Four-top tables are a bit longer than normal giving a bit more space. Sorry, but I don't believe they have lattes so you are stuck with coffee. They also have Mexican coffee with cinnamon sticks and sugar. There are many four star breakfast places within a few miles of the Marriott. I was skeptical that there could be this many but if this is any indication, the yelpers are correct. read more

Came on a Saturday around 10AM and was seated in around 25 minutes. We couldn't decide between some items, so we got all three! We got the Duck Hash, the Chorizo omelette, and the pork belly eggs benedict. The duck hash was delicious, as well as the eggs Benedict. However I thought the chorizo omelette was a bit too salty for my taste. Also got a cup of orange and apple juice, which tasted fresh squeezed. Happened to be in the area and was craving American brunch food, so here I was. First of all, if you're really hungry, don't underestimate the portions they serve with just one entree. I made the mistake of ordering a side of their potatoes and couldn't finish my entree. The carnitas chilaquiles were decent. It's not much better than any other I've had at Mexican joints. It hits the spot and is definitely high calorie comfort food. The omelette was okay, but I'm not much of an omelette guy. I was most pleased with the wheat toast and the awesome raspberry jam that came with it. Next time I'd rather order an extra side of wheat bread instead of potatoes to take advantage of that jam. Their potatoes and hash browns were excellent and outshines the entrees. The potatoes are cooked in garlic and you can definitely taste it, while the hash browns has plenty of butter infused in it to make your eyes widen on the first bite.
