Thought I'd make an appointment for my annual eye exam at Earth Vision on Earth Day this week. The office is conveniently located on Federal Hwy in Boca Raton in the Melting Pot Plaza. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, and then the technician who went over my paperwork and started the process for Dr P. who was quick to come and do my annual examination. He did all the proper steps as expected, and offered me some help if glasses were desired. Pleasant and professional office with a nice comfy waiting area and frame shopping area as well. Honest office who doesn't push anything on you that you don't want or need. I recommend Dr P. for your eye health and vision care needs. read more

They have a nice selection of glasses. I spoke with an optician named Maggie, who was very serious. She did not smile and did not appear to have any Interest in having me as a customer. This was the opposite of several other stores, in which the sales persons appeared very interested in selling me frames and lenses. The optician seemed very angry. This was a different experience. Not kid friendly. Went in to get prescription glasses for my 3yr old son. The staff was not friendly. One was particularly rude. My son was excited about his paper plate that he colored on and threw in the air and the lady freaked out. Kept saying "excuse me" I thought she was being funny but she was not. She was visibly upset. I explained that he was 3 and didn't know any better and she continued to be rude. I politely walked out and said I don't think this is the place for us. Their professionalism needs to be in check. I got a pair of glasses there and the order did not come in properly not on my part on their part. The lenses did not come in correctly so I ordered them in November. I didn't get them till January and the lenses popped out when I went to pick them up I bought another pair, they put the new lenses in and then for whatever reason they told me that I couldn't go back there anymore. I wasn't welcome in their store and they never adjusted them not one time to fit my face. Then the little iPad fell off of the Ray-Ban glasses they got me for cash and they got my insurance and then they got another hundred dollars for these frames. I know they weren't Expensive they were Ray but the price was on them so they give me any deal and they wouldn't let me go back there to get adjusted so the lenses pop out of the red ones and the pad on the ray bans on the nose completely fell off and I never had them adjusted to fit me. Therefore they slide down my face so I would not recommend this place as it is not professional and I was in a service business for 30 years and I would've never treated any of my clients like this and what gets me as they wouldn't even speak to me they just told me I wasn't welcome in their store anymore. WOW. It's been a bit of a challenge finding a business that has great customer service but Earth Vision exemplifies just that. I've been needing to book a vision exam and struggled waiting on hold with multiple locations. I finally found Earth Vision and right from the beginning, I was never treated like "just another customer". The dedicated, and individualized service provided from Ray, Kevin and Dr mark, was something that you often don't see anymore and something that should be commended. If anyone is looking for an eye doctor within the Boca area, do yourself a favor and come here. You will not be disappointed. read more

BEWARE!! HUGE MEDICAID SCAMMING HERE!!!! This place is a complete scam just a warning to anyone that has Medicaid insurance. So I had called my insurance (sunshine health) to confirm what I could get with my benefits and they said I'm able to get free eye exam for contacts and glasses once a year, free pair of glasses and free contacts up to 6 months per 12 months. So they recommended this place to me and so I called earth vision to set an appointment and I did and asked them to double check I can get all these things here they confirmed and was like "yes we will go through all your options when you get here" so ok... I get there at my 11am appointment everything went good I got checked in and I mentioned my insurance again and asked they said I will have to pay for my contact exam $80 and if I want contacts I will be charged for that as well... that seemed odd to me so I mentioned it to them My insurance told me differently and they insisted that they just say that to everyone and it's wrong. Now that doesn't make sense at all to me. I went on got my exam and everything and came back out I picked my glasses and then they told me I had to pay the 80 plus the contacts which they said I can either pick the free glasses or not choose glasses and use that towards 20 dollars off contacts lol is that a joke???? I mentioned my insurance again and I said here I can call them now to clarify and they told me no need it's going to take too long blah blah blah this is the white gut with glasses and the African American front desk lady they work in the front there. They made me feel like I was dumb and I knew nothing something wasn't adding up here at this eye doctor place. Well I paid the 80 and finished up. Got home first thing I did was call My insurance I told them what happened and they confirmed again that shouldn't have happened I wasn't supposed to pay the 80 and I should have been able to get contacts from this place. So my insurance puts me on hold and and calls them they tell them it's so busy they can't talk!!! I say wow there was nobody there when I got there or left how are they busy??? So my insurance faxed over my everything I'm eligible for and she told me to call them in 30 min. So I called and same guy that helped me insisted it's the same info he already has and doesn't say anything new.... Still something isn't right so I call insurance a gain and have them persistently call them again because my insurance just said we will call them have them refund you your money back because you weren't supposed to pay for anything....then surprisingly I get a phone call from the eye doctor lol he says hey I am on the other line with your insurance we talked and I guess there's some stuff my Insurance said to them that's new to them and they will review my eligibility again and call me back...we'll I got no call back! I'm assuming they do this to a lot of vulnerable people because this isn't right I did some digging and it's common for eye doctors to still charge insurance and the patient assuming the patient won't notice... so evil to do this to people with Medicaid that are clearly not financially stable and can't afford these things... so sad. Now the next day! This eye place gives me a call and they are still sticking to their story that I can only pick one or the other and they can't refund me my money lol I'm like wow are they high???? I tell them I'm going to give them a call back I will call my insurance again.. so I do once again my insurance told me they were billed this morning for my contact fitting and my glasses by them lol I'm like wow they are literally pulling fraud here and my insurance definitely confirmed that's what's going on here so she calls them on the other line. She's talking to them and now all of a sudden they change their story and say they called me and left me a voice mail which they never did to tell me there's a check waiting for my 80 dollars and my glasses will be canceled. This is insane what they have put me through. I will find out a way to report this clinic to someone higher up because this is illegal. My insurance (sunshine health) confirmed that is FRAUD for sure on this eye clinic!!!! So my insurance has made them refund me and canceling all my services there to go somewhere else. I just can't believe this place!!! For anyone coming here for Medicaid BEWARE!!!! read more

I have been coming here for a little over two years. Very bad eye sight and eye problems run in my family so I thought I needed custom-made contacts because that was the only option (I'm presuming) that was available through my optometrist back around 2000. Since then I'd been to one other optometrist in NYC around 2012 and they didn't recommend anything else. After visiting Dr Pittaluga I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there were monthly disposable contacts available for my prescription. He had me try a few. I hated the first one and the second brand was perfect, better than my custom contacts even. It's so much more affordable than my previous custom-made contacts so he helped me save money and be fitted with better contacts. Thank you! read more

After 10 minutes, he realized we were just trying on and told us we were wasting his time and needed to leave. We were honest with him and he was rude to us. Do not waste your time here. After being patients for over 10 years, our family won't be getting back to this place. Dr. Pittaluga is a fine guy who seem to care a lot for his patients. But the lady that they have hired for the front desk is just plain rude and very lazy. I recently switched jobs to a remote position and now my insurance is from a different state, but they are FloridaBlue here in Florida. When I presented this people my card, they told me they have never heard of this insurance, even if it said FloridaBlue in a corner. I showed that to them. They kept telling me that they have never heard of such company, and that such a thing is not possible, that FloridaBlue always uses somebody else for eye care insurance. I called the insurance who asked to talk to them, and they wouldn't get on the phone with the insurance. After me insisting so much on them to check, the lady in the front desk told me (almost yelling): we know this company and they never pay. read more

I received an outstanding care while suffering from both eyes infection. The doctor accurately diagnosed my condition and recommended the appropriate antibiotic treatment. After implementing treatment, 48 hours later, I am back to normal. Ever since going to Earth Vision I was always happy with the care I had been receiving. Dr. Pittaluga in particular is amazing and has been tending to me for years. Recently, I had cataract surgery. Although I was happy with the results in that my overall vision was vastly improved, I was a little disappointed because my reading ability was compromised. Before surgery, my contact lenses lenses gave me perfect reading. I returned to Dr. Pittaluga and he applied his amazing skills and found the answer for me. He fitted me with one contact lens which I wear over my implant and I could not be more pleased. My reading ability is now perfect and my distance vision is also still very good. I truly did not know if this would be an option, but Dr. Pittaluga proved me wrong. How great is that? read more

I have been to many optometrists, and this was hands down the best experience I've ever had at any of them. The Doctor was friendly, gentle, and informative. But the best part was the staff in front. They helped guide me through a potential purchase of eye glasses. While nearly every other optometrist tries to up sell the most expensive frames they can, the woman here helped me go through and pick the ones I liked best, she had great taste and ended up helping me pick out the frames we thought looked best and they turned out to even be on the cheaper side. Great one stop shop for your eye care needs! Dr. Mark Pittaluga and his staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout. I came in just to replace my existing pair of prescription Oakleys. Since they could do everything, I also had my regular eye exam, then went straight into getting the details for the new sunglasses. They can do it all from this location, which was great and the new sunglasses came in only a week later. The Saturday hours are unheard of anywhere else, and I think that's what made the difference since I work regularly and it was just easier to go on Saturday. They were also very helpful over the phone and through text messages. Since I was a first time patient, I was able to submit all my information electronically, which I think made everything so much easier for everyone, especially when I walked in the first day. No forms to fill out since I already did it online! You really have to search for this option, I think they should make it much easier to do this for anyone else who may want to, I found it extremely helpful. Great job everyone! read more

Excellent doctor and staff. After being "warned" by my two previous eye doctors that my eyesight would decline once I hit a certain age, Dr. Pittaluga is a breath of fresh air. In fact, I first saw him a few months before I turned the age I'd been warned about and my vision has actually *improved* in the years since, thanks to his supportive vision-care recommendations. I bought some beautiful frames there that have lasted, as the optician does a fine job. The atmosphere is comfortable with a healthy feel, and everyone there always treats me well. My review covers ease of interaction, office conditions, professionalism and prices. Dr. Pittaluga was referred to me by my brother-in-law. I easily Googled the contact information and received and appointment for the following day. After making the appointment, I received both a recorded phone reminder AND text with the address so it was very easy to get directions in Maps. I didn't really need directions, though because I pass the Melting Pot on Federal Highway frequently. The office is not overly large (with the customer traffic on the day I visited an additional couch would be in order.) but the furnishings were lovely and the office neat as a pin. Desiree was at the desk and was friendly, prepared and polished. Dr. Pittaluga was right on time. He has a tremendous sense of humor and is one of the most informed professionals I've met. I have a very powerful prescription, but he was patient and took time with me to get it just right. I brought my own frames, but from what I noticed, the office has s large selection of designer frames. The price for my exam was about $40 and for my frames the cost was HALF the price that I was quoted by Bascom Palmer Institute. Conclusion: I am confident in Dr. Pittaluga's abilities and was quite pleased with his office and prices. I would definitely recommend him to family, friends and colleagues. read more
