My teacher Izak is exceptional and Lalo, the owner , is incredibly professional, responsive and he cares greatly about his business/students. There are always extracurricular events such as trips of nights out and it great to build a community and friendships. The model is to have only 4 students per teacher and this makes a huge difference, furthermore, there is a curriculum on which the class is based on. So we spend a portion of the class chatting, a portion learning and the third part is to practice what we just learned. I always feel like my spanish improves after every class and I cannot say the same for the other conversational based learning.

Through my conversation with Lalo, a lot of my anxiety immediately melted away. Once we were placed, we signed up for weekly classes based on our skill level and have had nothing but a positive experience. Our teacher is Andrea - she is charismatic, professional, and skillfully integrates on-the-fly lessons to our broader goals (i.e., when we are confused by a concept Andrea organically integrates it into our lesson and explains it in such a clear way). Everything we do is in Spanish - 45 minutes of conversation, then 45 minutes of lessons/activities/homework review. The Culture and Language Center has really helped cure so much of my speaking anxiety and given me a lot of confidence - now I feel safe to speak, play, and even make mistakes. :) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this program to anyone. If you are on the fence, you won't regret this experience!

From the time my…read moredaughter started there when she was about 2 years old until we moved out of San Diego almost 2 years later, she always came home happy and excited to talk about her day, what she learned, and all of her friends - including Judy, Randy, and Anna. You can't beat having an in-home daycare with experienced teachers who've dedicated their house to children. The food program they participate in is incredible, My daughter was exposed to the garden and healthy fruits and vegetables every day. My daughter and I will forever have fond memories of Judy, Randy, and Anna and her time at Tender Care. I can't recommend this daycare/preschool enough.

My Daughter attended Tender Care from the time she was 15 months in 2015 until she left for Transitional Kindergarten in the fall of 2018. Our youngest son started when he was 14 months old and we are happy to stay with Tender Care until he moves onto Kindergarten at age 5. While in Judy's care, not only did my daughter learned everything from her ABC's, numbers, letter and number recognition to shapes, music, art appreciation, and dance. But, she also learned valuable life enhancement skills such as sharing, curiosity, communication, patience, and love. Another positive practice at Tender Care is their attentive lifestyle of zero waste, and reducing their carbon-footprint. This is such an integral part of daily life at Tender Care that it becomes second nature for the children to embody this approach in everyday living. I believe that Tender Care creates an environment where children have the freedom to explore and have fun as well as develop wonderful relationships with learning. The love and patience provided by Judy, Randy and Ana make us realize how lucky we are to have found a place we can always call our home away from home. You will not find care like this anywhere else. I'd highly recommend Tender Care Eco Friendly Pre-school & Child Care; you're guaranteed to receive the same type of care you would give your child.

Also their meal plan is great. We are very fortunate to have our son there. We looked at around 10 different places and it gave us anxiety because we really wanted our son to be at Lulus which was much much better than all the other places we saw all over San Diego.

The teachers are incredibly loving and thoughtful. I especially love the fact that they celebrate birthdays and holidays and create opportunities for parents to get to know each other, too. My child has grown by leaps and bounds, and his interactions with the other children are fun to see. The fact that meals are provided (bfast, lunch and snacks) is a godsend. Several daycares/preschools in the region claim to be Spanish immersion but aren't actually (e.g., they speak English to the kiddos). At Lulus, I feel like we get a truly authentic Spanish immersion program for our son, knowing instruction is exclusively in Spanish. And it shows. My son 100% understands Spanish when it is spoken to him and he mixes Spanish and English in his vocabulary regularly. I credit Lulus for a large part of that bilingual ability and look forward to seeing his fluency improve in the years to come. Highly recommend Lulus!!

The Jacobs Center is a beautiful building with both indoor and outdoor venues. Upon entering the building a female security guard greeted us and provided information about the rates of the main floor Banquet Rooms and Main Hall rental. She was very nice, friendly and helpful allowing us to view each of the Banquet Rooms. The Main Hall room was set up for an upcoming event. As we were leaving we asked if they provided catering and she directed us to True Roots located at another entrance of the building. Once outside we stopped the first person we saw and asked about True Roots. It just so happen she (Beth) was the person in charge of rentals and catering. Once inside her office she gave us lots of information about the menu, catering and so on. She also took us upstairs to more Banquet Rooms that fit our needs perfectly. The rooms were clean and in great condition. Beth was very helpful and gave us additional information regarding decorations, set up and cleanup. They provide the tables and chairs, easels and some minor decorations (we can also bring our own). They set up the room; they clean up after and provide catering. The rates are affordable: we are interested in a room capacity of 40-60 people half day rate (4 hours) cost between $150-$350 dollars slightly higher for the Halls and not including the food. Beth gave me a copy of the menu and the rates for the rooms so I am very excited to start planning this event.
