I've been bringing my dog to Central Bark Doggie Daycare in Broadview Heights for grooming for over 10 years. In that entire time, I have never missed a single appointment. Even when they've canceled on me at the last minute and put me in difficult situations, I continued to support them and even referred others. at the This is no reflection on the groomer. I am hoping they didn't tell her. About a month ago, my younger brother passed away unexpectedly. That same week, I missed a grooming appointment -- the first one I've ever missed -- and realized it about an hour later. I immediately called to reschedule. Instead of any understanding, I was told I would be charged a $35 rescheduling fee. I explained the situation, apologized, and even offered to tip the groomer extra. The woman on the phone was rude, completely unsympathetic, and told me they could not book another appointment unless I paid the fee, even offering to charge the card on file. I declined and then emailed the owners. It's now been about a month, and I have received no response. I understand policies exist, and I even understand that the employee was likely just following them. But as a business owner myself, I also understand that there are moments where compassion and common sense should outweigh rigid rules -- especially for a loyal customer of over a decade. I don't typically leave negative reviews until I've exhausted every avenue with management, but the lack of response speaks volumes. For the sake of a $35 fee, you've lost a loyal customer of 10+ years. That's incredibly disappointing. Do better, Central Bark. read more

Exceptionally pleased with our first experience at Central Bark. Very talented Grooming staff --- our 8 year old English Setter/Siberian Huskie mix has never looked so good! They are super friendly and take good care of your dog. My dog has been going here for a couple of years and we've never had any problems. My dog is always happy and eager to jump out of the car when we arrive at Central Bark. Slightly pricey, but you get what you pay for when it comes to doggy daycare and boarding. Keela loves coming here several times a week! Everyone is so great and accommodating and they add lots of pictures of the dogs as they play all day. The girls at the desk are always so warm and welcoming and Keela (my dog) just loves them all so much! They also have a great selection of treats, great training classes and a great groomer. Dropped my 12 week old puppy off there for the first time, and I have to say this place is great ! I walked in and they knew my dogs name and showed me around. The girls working there were super friendly and helpful. When I came to pick him up they gave me a first day folder with a picture of my puppy's first day(so cute). EXCELLENT! This facility is top notch in every way. I took my "difficult" dog there to be groomed. They handled him with kid gloves. They didnt stress him out and got the job done, which is more then I can say for some other places. I was given a tour and was very impressed. They put the dogs into groups according to size and let them play together for the majority of the day. My only regret is that I don't live closer as the drive is prohibitive for me :( read more

Used Central Bark for the last 5 years for boarding and grooming. I called to make an appointment for boarding, but was told I would need to bring him in for a day care visit and evaluation prior to boarding (since he hadn't been in for the last 6 months )- the reason given was ridiculous- supposedly to make sure he was still compatible to being boarded. Not really sure what was going to change in 6 months. I feel it was just to generate more fees, nothing with dog safety. Took my two labs ages 4 and 1 to get groomed. I had never been there before. I showed up at my appt time and they took my dogs without greeting me or the dogs. All they said was see you in three hours. I picked the dogs up at the appropriate time. Once again without getting a greeting from the staff. They charged $80 for two labs and did a good job, no bandana or cute bow though. However, their lack of customer service has made me a one time customer. read more

I take both of my dogs, Lucy and Toby, to central bark in Broadview Heights and recommend this place to everyone. I could not ask for better service. First, the owners are very kind and make doggy day care an easy process for dog owners (ie. flexible drop-off and pick-up times, dogs can have food or medicine at any time, easy scheduling, etc). Second, the staff is some of the best I have seen in any business. You are welcomed with a friendly smile as soon as you open the door and they will quickly adjust to help you by grabbing food/your dog/cage for overnight/etc. You never have to wait to hand your dog over or grab it before heading home because they are well staffed as well. All of these benefits make this very convenient. I hope that others bring their dogs here, so they can have the top notch experience I get. Adopted our first dog almost 4 years ago. Called Peggy (got her information from the internet) as she was the closet dog training facility near me. Even before signing me up she gave me so much advice on what to do when we brought the puppy home as I was absolutely clueless. We must have talked for twenty minutes and she didn't know me at all. I felt helpless, but Peggy reassured and encouraged me. I took our snoodle to the puppy training classes and was so glad I did! And then went on to the dog behavior classes and happy to have done those as well. Peggy is friendly and professional as well as encouraging. They want you to have a good experience with your pet and that comes out in their training classes. I have continued to take my dog for grooming at Central Bark - Julie is kind and is always willing to listen to what you want to have done. And it is so good to come and pick up my dog after her grooming..she smells sweet and it is always a great job. I have also boarded my dog there as they are one of the few facilities that will let you pick up your pet on a Sunday. I cannot say enough good things about Peggy and Central Bark! They helped me when I knew nothing about taking in a new puppy (having never had a dog before), and I was a stranger to Peggy, but not now. I have continue to go to Central Bark for grooming and dog food supplies (love to get their coupons), and have never been disappointed. read more

I've been bring my dog Kirby here for doggy day care/sleepovers for 6 years now and he's always well cared for. Staff is friendly, knows Kirby and he's always happy to be part of the "pack". Stopped by today to get my dog's nails trimmed. Fee was what I expected. The facility was bright, clean, and organized. Didn't have an appointment and was greeted and waited on very quickly. I don't like that you have to pay/tip for grooming before you see your pet. This is the second time my dog's hair was cut differently than I had asked - even though I said exactly what I wanted when dropping him off. I told them it was cut too short where I had left ask it to be completely untouched because it takes months to grow back, but wasn't offered an adjustment for my payment or anything. Paid full price AND tipped for the wrong cut because that it taken care of before they get your pet back...will be going elsewhere from now on! read more

Love the place, but more importantly so does Ziva, our 18 months Malinios. Slept over for two weeks a couple of times and just goes for a play day. Lots of space for running and chasing. Friendly people....lot's of dog friends to play with. read more

The owners, Bob and Kathy are great! They are very accommodating, kind and professional. Their staff is excellent and they really love our dogs as well as the others that come in. We don't have children so our fur babies mean everything to us. We have an 8 year old Cane Corso and a 2 year old yellow lab, they both love daycare! We never worry about them when they are at Central Bark. We use them primarily for doggie Day care and a few times a year they stay over night. We've also used them for grooming (nail trims and baths). We've referred many friends and family to Central Bark in Broadview Hts., OH! You won't be disappointed. read more

Awful place to do business with. I had taken my dog here a few times to be groomed and was happy with the work they did and decided to continue taking her. Grooming books up quickly there so I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance for her. The day before my scheduled appointment I received a call asking where I was - I called back and stated my appointment was the next day and perhaps they had confused me with someone else. No - the person who made my appointment, Peggy, had written the wrong day on their schedule. After talking with Bruce, who was extremely rude and unhelpful, he basically told me sorry for my luck and they were booked the rest of the week. Mind you this happened on a Wednesday, the appointment was scheduled for Thursday morning and I would have been open to getting a different time slot but he told me I was out of luck. I was very disappointed considering the amount of notice I had given to make the original appointment. He suggested making a new appointment in 2 weeks and he would discount the price. I'm also over 9 months pregnant so it was important that the grooming be completed that week because that was the last week I had open to be able to schedule this sort of thing. Bruce said he would call me back with a new solution - and he did - offering to pick my dog up at my HOUSE without me there and deliver my dog back to me that same day- again on the incorrect appointment day and at which point I had already left my house for the day. As a business owner I understand mistakes may happen, but if you make a mistake you should make it right to your client and in my opinion they did nothing of the sort. I would HIGHLY discourage anyone who appreciates customer service and expects correct scheduling of appointments to consider a different groomer, this was probably the worst experience I have ever had at a business - when I told that to Peggy and Bruce their response was "Oh well, thats all we can do for you you'll just have to go somewhere else." Apparently they don't value the business from a re-occurring client. Disappointing. read more
