We were celebrating a loved one's birthday and went to saw the tepanyacki showcase. Hope you understand it cause I am pretty sure I misspelled the word, also known as just tepan. The show and the service of the Chef was phenomenal; we had a great time. The restaurant is spacious and well decorated appropriately for the food being served. Portions are acceptable and as expected. Overall quality is a four cause some items were simply exquisite, while others were a disappointment based on the quality expected based on the price being charged. For example, my wife's and my daughter's meat were tender well seasoned, while my fish tuna was raw and even cold at the center. The specialty rice (not the plain white) was below our expectations, simply typical Chinese rice without the extras at which we are used to have. Great option for groups that would like to have some fun while sharing great food with quality service.

Food: - Crab rangoons: 4 pieces, lacked cream cheese. 3/5 - Black Dragon Roll: not bad, not great. Imitation crab, avocado roll, topped with eel and sauce. 3/5 - Singapore Fried Noodles: very bland. I hardly tasted the curry. Shrimp, chicken, eggs, red bell peppers, and onions. It was better the day after when I seasoned it with curry powder, garlic, and crushed red peppers. 3.5/5 - Mongolian Beef: very tasty! The meat was tender and flavorful. Beef, onions, red and green bell peppers. 4/5 Service: We were greeted and seated immediately. I came with a party of 25 and half the people got their food first. The other half received theirs 15-20 minutes later. And unlucky me received mine's another 10 minutes later. By the time I got my food my friends were almost done with theirs. Luckily I got appetizers or else I would have been furious. My hungry face isn't that pretty! lol. It was still frustrating, though. I had to ask about my food to make sure it wasn't forgotten to be put in. Then my friend asked again because it still hadn't come after 15 minutes of me asking. 2/5 Final thoughts: The food was mediocre and the service was not consistent. I may come back to try their hibachi. I probably won't have to wait as long for my food :/

The name "Asian Bistro" comes with the promise of a an oriental restaurant with a personality of its own. The sad reality is that this hodgepodge of Chinese, Japanese, and American Teppanyaki can't make up its mind what it is supposed to be and does not get any of the styles right. Asian Fusion it is not. A menu of over 160 items is ridiculously ambitious and ends up equally lacking in quality and presentation. Your first challenge will be avoiding the tables that do not wobble and the second will be finding a pleasant location in the over-sized and understaffed faux oriental main dining room. Service will be courteous but not particularly fast or diligent. You will find no seasonings at the table so you will have to settle for the bland and overcooked dishes and white rice. My Szechuan Phoenix ($18.00 which they spell Scechuan Phonex) had everything julienne shredded including the beef. It was served spicy hot because I asked - totally ignoring the fact that this is meant to be a hot dish when served anywhere else. The Lotus Delight ($20.00) ordered by my wife (also supposed to be hot) was, in her opinion, inedible and affected her stomach for the rest of the day. We gave our waitress some feedback about or disappointment, but were never approached by the owner who was too busy to listen to clients. On the positive side they offer free WiFi but we were told that is was not working. The fact that this was not revealed until we had ordered automatically results in the loss of an additional star in my book. We left very disappointed with no intent to return. This is mass production at its worse and I would not expect their other locale called "Sushi" at 74 Condado ave. in San Juan to fare much better.

One of the best Chinese and Japanese restaurants in the island. The waiters are very friendly and polite. Ask for Jaime!

It's a great option if you want good, last minute sushi. We never have long wait times, and the menu is pretty creative with some touches of Puerto Rican food while still staying true to traditional Japanese restaurant. I highly recommend the Dennis Roll for a good, sweet, savory and spicy flavor. My father recommends the Pacific. Definitely worth going if you're looking for good food, for a reasonable price, and good service. Pretty high quality, fresh, and tasty!

It's bigger but the way it's separated it makes it look small. Was too hungry so I ordered the pumpkin cream soup and while it was good, it was lacking a bit of flavor. It felt thinned out or maybe slightly watered down. Our rolls took a while to come out (easily half an hour), but when they did they were brought to an area by a robot(!) which the server then picked up and brought to us. It was neat. I had my three staples (Leila, Mexican, Caribbean) and we got the Spicy Lola to try something new. The Mexican roll was nice (it's wrapped in tortilla instead of seaweed), and the Spicy Lola was very filling. The Caribbean was superb, but the Leila roll is still the all-star from this place. Possibly my favorite roll of all time. Service time wasn't great but Rolando was extremely hands on and always paying attention to refilling water, and he was extremely courteous. 4/5 due to the service time and the pumpkin cream soup missing the mark. Amazing sushi and well worth the trip!

My parents had eaten here before and said it was really good, so we were excited to see if it lived up to the hype. The restaurant had a lively, bustling atmosphere, with a steady stream of customers dining in and picking up takeout orders. Even though it was busy, the staff kept things moving efficiently. Even for a large order, the wait was only about 30 minutes. They have a separate pickup area for to-go orders, which made the process organized and easy despite how busy they were. We ordered the beef fried rice, house fried rice, churrasco steak, house lo mein, sesame beef, jumbo shrimp, chicken wings, fried pork, pork ramen, and three sushi rolls. The kids in our family chose the Philly Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and Red Dragon Roll, and they really enjoyed them. I had originally planned to order a different sushi roll from the menu, but it wasn't available that day. It wasn't a big deal, though, because the rolls we did get were fresh and delicious. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. The churrasco steak was my personal favorite--the meat was incredibly tender and already well seasoned on its own. My husband wasn't a fan of the accompanying sauce, but he agreed the steak itself was excellent. We also really enjoyed the fried rice, and the portions were generous. They were also generous with the condiments and included a variety of sauces with our order, which we appreciated. The only thing we missed was chili oil, since it's a condiment we usually expect to have available at Chinese restaurants. If you're staying nearby or looking for a restaurant that offers both Chinese and Japanese cuisine, Tayzan is definitely worth checking out. Just be prepared for a crowd--it seems to be popular for a reason!

Service: can be quite slow because they have too many tables compared to employees working. The servers also will get confused and bring the wrong order so be prepared to send food back. The food was also delivered all at once. We ordered soup, appetizer, and main. They should have staggered it to keep the dishes hot. Food: ordered the veggie soup. It was $10 for a small portion but the soup was very tasty. The veggies were crisp. It was served tepid so I think it sat on the counter. We ordered veggie spring rolls, they were crunchy, pipping hot, and full of veggies very good. The dipping sauce complimented well. Now the Singapore noodles were beef, chicken, shrimp, and egg. It had quite a lot of shrimp. The beef and chicken were inedible. The velvetize of the beef made it rubbery and the they don't have good knife skills because the beef was a big chunk and it was undercooked in some spots and the texture was just again inedible. The chicken also had wrong texture from being velvetized. Very greasy sturdy noodles. The appetizers and soup are delicious, bit overpriced. While the Singapore noodles were generous portion- can split between 2 people, we did not eat the entire dish due to the textures and overly greasy.
