I've been here three times and can say 3rd time is a charm. I don't mean the previous two times sucked, they just left me feeling I hadn't tasted their full potential. The 1st time I visited I went to meet up with and friend who was already there with his family. They had no real interest in eating a full meal. They wanted to drink and eat spring rolls. They ordered about 5 or 6 orders of spring rolls (maybe more before we arrived). They were good, don't get me wrong but my wife and I wanted real food. We couldn't complain though because they were inviting. Finally they ordered some sushi and the peking pork chops. The pork chops were excellent; the sushi was fine, but the sushi chef failed. When my wife picked it up with her chopstick they fell apart. Overall we had fun, but left feeling we didn't get to really know the place. The 2nd time we ordered via Uber Eats during the lockdown. We had the Singapore Noodles and the pork dumplings. Both good, but with the usual Uber Eats complaints. Took too long and arrived a little cold. A few nights ago we went for dinner. It was a nice night so we sat outside. To start off we ordered the Vietnamese Spring Rolls. Those were really good. For main course my wife ordered sushi (can't remember which) and I ordered the cashew chicken with a 1/2 order of the Silk Fried Rice. Our son had the beef skewers. Everything was delicious. We ate everything, no leftovers. My wife also had the sake and I ordered a Japanese Craft beer. It was called Kyoto, a White Yuzu Ale. Excellent. I highly recommend trying it. Be warned though it will set you back $14. I did not know that when I ordered it. I though there was a typo in when the bill came... but no. I guess I understand. Craft breweries are small, they don't mass produce batches. It will be more expensive. Add to that shipping it to LA where it is then distributed to PR. But it was worth it, really tasty. We left feeling satisfied having finally tasted the restaurant's true potential. read more

This was my first visit, after hearing about it a few times. Silk specializes in Asian cuisine. If anyone would have told me that I would have some of the best sushi of my life in Puerto Rico, I would have not necessarily believed - but I did. During the COVID pandemic, tables are well spaced and with plexiglass dividers in the dining room - there is also seating outside (but watch out for humid days). For appetizer, I recommend the Fried Wontons or the Pork Dumplings. As far as sushi goes, I recommend the Crazy Roll - but all other sushi we tried was just as good. read more

But otherwise, I am very satisfied with the order and the size of the food. I had enough to last me into the next day. It tasted fresh and made with care. During our April 2022 stay in Condado, my wife and I tried Silk Restaurant for carryout (it's across the street from the Supermax) since it was only a 10 minute walk from our AirBnB condo. It's an OK option for carryout Asian food. For the Chinese dishes, I liked the moo goo gai pan and Buddhist's delight, but the overall taste was kind of mediocre (if you are accustomed to authentic Asian restaurants in major U.S. mainland cities). Perhaps it depends on what dish you order. That said, we did not try the steamed fish or any sushi options. On the plus side, the customer service for placing a takeout order was great. Also, the decor in the restaurant was lovely. I think Silk Restaurant is probably a better experience if you dine-in. But the food quality by itself is not worth making a special trip out of your way. read more

Manager Victor gets major credit for turning around a bad experience due to a snotty employee and creating a great experience....My girlfriend went in there for lunch and got a rude waitress. When asking if it was possible to substitute fried rice with steamed rice on a dish, the waitress said no and like a true biotch, told her she already answered her when asking another way. My girlfriend walked out and left a VM for the manager. He offered dinner on him and we took him up on it. Dinner was on point and exactly what I was looking for, something healthy and with protein. Beautiful location and place with a giant Buddha statue in the back, gorgeous and so serene. The waitress was nice as well. The food tasted good, I had lomein and my husband had general tos chicken. My first time here in Puerto Rico and I didn't have to look far to find a very decent restaurant such a Silk. I feel obliged to post this review (something I never do) because my experience was exceptional. I was met by waiter Juan, who was very friendly, made me feel relaxed and went above and beyond to ensure that I had the best dining experience he could offer. My meal of choice was a very reasonable priced 1/2 Peaking Duck with white rice. Initially the Duck comes chopped on the bone with a plum sauce, accompanied by small portion of white rice. What made my experience one to write about was Juan's initial steps to go above and beyond by recommending an alternative source that he thought would compliment the dish and my taste, he also took my request for pancakes. After very reasonable wait ( if it was a short wait I would have been concerned) Juan delivered a very well present dish and all of my requests. It was also after explaining to Juan that it was the best Duck I have ever had and that I often search for a decent well cooked and healthy Duck and today I found it, that Juan mentioned that if I'd allow my Chef would love to shred the Duck for me which he hoped would allow me to enjoy without any bones. And so it did! The Owner was pleased to hear of my feedback and came to greet me personally. Again this gave me a very welcoming dining experience and would recommend it to anyone of any style or status looking for a fine dinning spot in a peaceful neighborhood, only minuets from the hustle and bust of Old San Juan, costing around $8 for a cab or a very beautiful coastal walk. So far, one of the best Chinese food and Sushi restaurants I've been to in Puerto Rico. Great spot for dates as it's a bit of a fine-dining experience and classier setting. Specialty rolls are all well-made and nicely plated; we had the "Golden Dragon" roll and the "Volcano" roll, and both were great. The service was fast and friendly. On beer/drink selection- surprisingly they didn't have Sapporo, but they did have Asahi for my date- I had a Moscow Mule which was pretty good, but ...
