My daughter and I were here visiting my CofC student and I wanted to treat them to a mani. The space is super cute, clean and modern. I can't believe all the negative reviews! This place is fantastic! Linh did tips and a dip mani for me and a dip mani for my daughter. It was fast, efficient and our nails look amazing. All of our nails turned out beautiful. Something non-Asians need to understand about Asian business owners. We can be really loud and sometimes indelicate. It's truly a cultural thing - try not to be offended and just go with the flow and you'll have a better experience at any Asian business. The owner is a doll and funny as hell. I will be back when we visit again, and I'll definitely get my daughter a gift card to come here regularly. read more

Kathy did a great job on my pedicure today! She was very thorough and I'm happy with the results. The nail salon was clean, quiet, and calm. I was immediately seen, attended to, and offered a drink. It was $45 for a basic pedicure, with regular old nail polish (similar pricing to other downtown Charleston spots). read more

Excellent gel pedicure. We did have to wait 45 minutes even though we had an appointment. She mentioned they were running behind so not sure if that's usual for them. It's very nice inside and conveniently located with a parking lot and surrounding meter spaces read more

I was really impressed, and I'm picky. I got my nails done on vacation a few days ago, and they still look great even with just getting regular polish. I'm hard on my hands, so usually regular polish chips quickly on me. Nina did my nails and she was so nice and fun to talk to. If I lived in the area, I'd be a regular. read more

We had an appointment for a group of five for manicures and pedicures. We waited and waited. It took about 45 minutes for the first one of us to be seen. I'm not a fan of the set up of the salon. It's open with the waiting area in the middle. The selection of colors and brands of polish is small compared to other nail salons. There is plenty of free parking because it's located in a plaza. read more

Wow! This nail salon is great. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. It is so hip and trendy inside. Good vibes and music. I am visiting from California and didn't have time to get my nails done before I left. Was able to get an appointment for gel manicure and pedicure same day. Noriko did an amazing job! Called in specifically requesting an appointment for just after 4 pm and repeated request to confirm. Showed up just before 415 to be scolded for being late and told they had to take walk ins. Waited over 30 minutes when I specifically booked here because I was on a tight schedule. Lady who did my nails was listening to a music device and had earbuds, so anything I said required repeating numerous times. Manicure hurt as she filed down my nails more than I've had before especially since mine were natural, healthy and had no polish. After only a few days my gel nails didn't only all break but my nails broke painfully low beginning two days after. Went here for convenience but will book outside the peninsula moving on. It will take a while before my nails repair. read more

So no photo of my nails but I can explain how I ended up here... lol I went downtown for a self care day... I wanted a mani and googled nail places downtown. Was going to walk and then I decided to drive, I'm glad I did. The place is in a cute small business area. Serene Devore and not to large in size. There was a wait to get my nails done and I was on a time crunch. I was instructed to take off my Apple Watch and not to used my phone by my nail tech... lol I'm like what? This is new. I'm not sure if I'll be back since I'm not downtown often, but I loved the color I chose and she did well. Also it's a bit pricey. read more

Not a very pleasant experience. They didn't have the original color I picked out so It took me a bit longer to pick a second color. I tried to explain how I would like the design but the nail tech was seeming to be impatient and mentioned at one point he wanted to go home so he rushed through my French nails. I don't know if this was something he wasn't too good at since he was getting slightly upset with making some mistakes or simply was close to his shift ending. I originally wanted to get my toes done but after all that I just decided to leave as soon as my nails were finished I wasn't feeling welcomed at all at this point. Paying was a not pleasant either. She went to set the card reader and left right after. The total was around $45. I actually wanted to pay full in cash but didn't have the correct change to tip 20% which I shouldn't have. I had $60 so I wanted to pay $55 although it was a bad experience I still tip anyways. So when she came back I asked if she had change for a $10. She replied "that she has ones and it was stripper money" and "how much was he worth" Im assuming she thought I wasn't gonna tip well.... I paid $55 and went to another nail salon to do my toes. I truly hope that no one else experiences the same encounter. read more

This is an okay place for you to get your nails done. Not the best, but not the worst. I've gone in the past because they are located right near where I live, however I may find a new nail place to go to. The staff is very nice and friendly. In addition, they give you complimentary beverages. In terms of nail services, I would say they are just okay. Although my nails turned out looking very nice and pretty, I was a little concerned about the sanitary there. I do not think that they clean out the pedicure tubs very well, nor do they have a protective plastic wrap around it like I have seen in some salons. This just kind of grosses me out considering so many different people put their feet in there throughout the day. I think it's a bit pricey, especially if they aren't cleaning up to the standards they should be. I get a gel mani and regular pedi and it totals to be $70 plus tip. I will say that unlike most other nail salons in downtown Charleston, they do offer parking (which is a plus!!). read more

I am now a regular here after searching high & low for a nail place when I moved to Charleston last year. It took me about five different salons to find the right one, and very glad I came across East Bay Nail Spa. Great quality manis/pedis, charming/boho decor, and always a good playlist. Anna is a rockstar (would reco an appt if you want to book with someone specific). Nina, owner, keeps the place vibrant and truly does try to do what's best for her customers. While it's a smaller salon, there is sometimes a wait. But it's a hard working and helpful team, and my choice for nails 10 times out of 10. read more

This is my second time here, I did enjoy my mani and pedi. My husband and I both did the mani pedi, I got dip powder in my nails. Every one was super friendly and pricing was good. My only down fall was I wasn't asked how I wanted my nails filled and by time I realized it it was too late but it wasn't a major issue. I would still definitely go back! Oh, the owner is loud and out going so if you prefer a more quieter atmosphere this might not be the space for you, we enjoyed it though bc she was so friendly and energetic! read more

I went to the salon for get my manicure and pedicure because I'm visiting the city regularly. I walked in and the woman at the front door was the rudest person I have ever met. I was simply asking for the wait time and she started mocking my Hispanic accent. I was very confused about why she was being so rude to me. In town for a conference and found this gem late on a Sunday afternoon. I didn't have an appt. and yes, waited ~hour for a pedicure. But the business is clean, wine is good, and outcome of my pedi even better. If you have time and want to relax, go! If you're in a hurry, I would verify the time and just how long. read more

I waited 35 minutes for a plain manicure with regular polish. The technician did not remove my regular polish completely but instead scraped the polish off around the cuticles with a metal tool. She filed the nails not in the shape I asked, jagged, and uneven. I did not allow her to trim my cuticles at that point. She painted my nails in a sloppy way and used an acetone soaked paintbrush to try to clean in up, which, of course weakens the polish. With only basic hand washing, it chipped in under 24 hours and cost $35 before tip. Young children were loud throughout the service. I will not return. read more

Out of all the nail places downtown - this one impressed me the most. I have gone to all the places downtown and I believe East Bay nails is the best one. I got SNS Dip nails and my artist was Lin. She made sure the SNS didn't make my nails look wide or too thick. I'm coming back to her! Also they didn't charge me for removal of the SNS that I had on my nails prior to the appointment. read more

While on vacation looking for a place that did SNS nails, and so lucky to have found Pich at East Bay Nail Spa. I had the nails for 3 weeks with no breaks, which is impossible for my impossibly thin nails. WOW!! Best nail artist, and I mean ARTIST, I have ever had, and I've had my nails done all over the country. We went through several options which she tested out before applying, it was a creative playground. Every nail was perfectly shaped. No dips or bumps, perfectly fit to my natural nails. Usually don't rave on Yelp, but I gotta give it to Pich, I would fly to her bimonthly for nails if I could! read more

So disappointed! How did this place get best of Charleston so many times?! I got a regular mani and pedi which in total took 46mins!! A pedi alone should take 45min! The girl I got was very nice but it was like she was on 100 espresso shots. 1) She barely filed my nails...I had to ask her to file more. 2) She maybe spent 1 sec pushing up my cuticles and when she was cutting my cuticles, I was afraid she was going to cut off my fingers and toes...she took a chunk out of the corner of my middle finger (seen in pic) which is currently burning as I type this review. 3) During my 30 sec massage, she dumped a bunch of that cheap oil on first and then mixed lotion into it and barely applied any pressure. It almost felt like someone was creepily stroking my leg. My hand massage stopped at my wrists and lasted a whopping 20seconds. 4) The polish application was terrible! You can clearly see where the second coat went (as you can see in the pic). Overall, these ladies need to slow down!!! Never going back! read more

Visiting Charleston for the week. My toddler fell asleep so walked in to get my pedi. Was greeted by the receptionist, she opened the door for me, offered me a cold beverage in this humid weather. Kimberly quickly got me seated and was so courteous, professional and great conversationalist. The time just flew by. I also noticed that she was a perfectionist. In terms of getting your nails done in Charleston this is really the only decent place unless you want to drive out to the end of the world in Mt. Pleasant. The prices are way higher than Atlanta or NYC, obviously its Charleston, $15 for a manicure, and $15 to get your eyebrows waxed, $35 for a pedicure etc etc.... That being said the space is nice, the women are very friendly, and it is hands down (no pun intended) the best manicure in the city. They carry OPI and a lot of essie colors as well, although the collection of colors is not great (lost a star), they have a ton of traditional colors, which again considering the clientèle sort of makes sense. read more

I went here today to get an eyebrow wax and I'm very happy with the result. It was very busy when I got there so I had to wait a little bit. They then had me sit in a chair in the corner. It wasn't private which was a bit strange for a wax, but whatever. The lady asked me how I'd like them and then got to work. They even have those cooling wipes that they use after to soothe the skin. My only complaint other than the location of the chair is the price. $15 for an eyebrow wax seems a bit pricey to me. Overall, they did a good job and had a great atmosphere. I can see why they were busy. read more

Honestly, I use yelp religiously for reviews but am never one to post. After coming here I needed too! I was in town, after having a bad weekend.. I walked in and was greeted by the owner, only waited 20 minutes (and they were understaffed) and the service was so good it was the only time I smiled this weekend. The owner is so nice and made time go by fast. She worked hard to make sure everyone was taken care of and was doing the best she could being understaffed. Had a 12:30PM manicure/pedicure appointment. I got there about 7 minutes late, and had called ahead to inform them I was running late. The place was almost empty, with about 5 customers being worked on. This was my first time at this salon and I'm given no direction of where to go, if I should pick out out a polish color, etc. so I awkwardly stand by the entrance for about 5 min. The owner, who's working on a customer, then tells me to go sit on chair 5 (the chairs aren't marked...?) because they had prepared it for me, her tone insinuating that this is something I should have known already. I go over to the pedicure chairs, see one with the bottom tub full of water but no one sitting in it, deduce that it's chair 5 and sit down. Nothing happens for another 10 minutes. Then the owner barks at me from across the salon, "have you picked out your color yet?" I tell her no. She then gestures to a teenager sitting on her phone behind the front desk, who vapidly wanders over to me, tells me to go pick out my nail color, and then sits down behind the front desk again. Super helpful. I have to dry off my feet, which were already soaking in the tub, get out of my chair and go pick out my nail color. I go back to chair 5 and sit for another 10 minutes. Nothing happens. I dry my feet off again, go back to the owner and ask how long it will be. She tells me someone is just finishing up with a customer, and offers no apology for the fact that my service is now over 30 minutes late. I wait another 5 minutes, and decide to leave. Just a bizarre experience and complete waste of time. read more

Joseph did a nice job on my feet with this basic service. Short sign-in at front desk and led to a massage chair and bowl. Back home I'm offered a glass of wine or fruit and a refill is $45! I'm guessing they don't do that here. They did give a chilled bottle of water when I asked. On the way out, I saw a tray of cookies - none for me, i guess! Lol. Nail experience was OK.

For my last visit, I wanted white tips with dip powder, and the manicurist I had didn't feel comfortable hand painting the white lines on at the end and had someone else help. I really appreciated that because in my experience at other salons, they fully go through knowing they don't know what they're doing, and I end up hating my nails. The staff is also extremely friendly and remembered me after coming in only two times. They rarely ever have a wait and always try their best to accommodate your requests.
